Hi! I am checking to see if anyone else had the same problem as me. I applied for citizenship online in November, and originally it showed estimated time 14 months (I know that usually that's not accurate and much shorter). It kept going down each month until last night when it showed 15 months, even more than originally back in November. Does anyone know what might be the reason or have the same problem?

Hi! I am a November filer as well, just filled online last Saturday, and I didn't get anything until earlier today. It appears as a receipt notice with this information:
"Thank you for submitting your application, petition, or request. Our office is currently processing it. Please verify your personal information listed above. Is it my NOA1? I read here that the biometrics letter should be next, right? And my estimated case completion time is January 2019 (14 months).

Please update us. As you know, we called on December 30 to ask about our case and were told to put a service request since there was nothing going on with our case. I don't know where a tier 2 looked at, but turned out, that we got the biometrics letter yesterday, dated December 23, for January 10.

A little update regarding my case. I had to file a service request today, because after a month I still haven't gotten a biometrics letter, and turned out "great" USCIS haven't even given me a date for biometrics!
As I was told, they don't know what happened, and it looks like they forgot or missed my case. And to give me more information they have asked me about a case number from my biometrics letter... Really!?
I hope it won't take them another month to give me a response to that service request. -
Hi! I guess we belong to November filers as well. We sent our package on the 28th of November to VSC, and it was delivered on the 29th. We got our NOA1 today, dated November 30, though the check was cashed on December 2. Now we will just wait for the biomentrics appointment.

Just got the notice of potential interview waiver in the mail today. It's not really a surprise but I'm not thrilled about it because of the long wait
I'm an August filer, but yesterday I got a notice of potential waiver dated December 30 too, and my local office is also Atlanta.

We sent documents on July 30, NOA1 was August 5, we got a RFE letter August 23 (was nothing about it on the website when we checked), went to biometrics September 5, RFE response was sent on September 18, and on September 19 it changed to RFE response review, and since then nothing at all. EAD and AP are on initial review stage since August 1.When did you get your RFE? When did you file?
And we went to infopass appointment in Atlanta office on September 9, but it was just waste of time.

What else do you want me to say? I miss her cooking (that too, she's an awesome cook)? A healthy marriage (for me) should include great sex life, companionship, sharing, and all the other things that a blissful marriage provides. But saying "Gosh darn it, I can't live without her cooking" or "Shoot I can watch football all Sunday long when she's not here, that'll just destroy my marriage" just didn't sound as good, ya know? I can make a list if it'll make you guys feel better, but I picked one that I felt would resonate better than "cooking" or "football".
No, but talking about sex so much really makes it sound like you're objectifying her. I haven't seen much from you about how much you love her and will do anything for her (besides make a class action lawsuit against the government?), but I have seen 4-5 posts about you wanting to sue because you can't get laid.
I'm not in any way doubting that you really do love her a lot, and that's the top of your priorities. And I understand it's more light-hearted to joke about the sex - we all know it's tough, and we've all been there. But this is a forum dedicated to trying to be with the person you love more than anything, and words mean things. It's more a matter of respect to the rest of us (and your wife[girlfriend?]) who are having to deal with this process for extremely long periods of time. I was fortunate to have the entire process go through exceptionally fast (thanks to the gov't shutdown NOA 2 took something like 55 days - average is 3x that), and maybe you'll be lucky as well.
Good luck to you and her, but you're definitely going to need to just sit back and wait and - if my own suspicions are true (which I hope not for her sake) - rethink your priorities.

I am frankly amazed by the number of people here who rush to defend this system, even while it harms them, with the argument "that's how they do it, just deal with it."
There's a big difference between "defending this system" and "accepting the fact it's not going to change (any time soon)".

I'm unable to, uh, regularly consummate my marriage now that I-130 is filed and we've gotta wait a year. She could use her valid B1/B2 visa and *try* to come in - but we've already been warned the last time she entered at POE in September so I don't want to risk her getting denied entry next time. Maybe we can try in the summer, I guess.
Of course I could fly to Taiwan (25-hour journey door to door, Indy isn't a hub city) for ~$2K each time, but that's some expensive ways of consummating my marriage.
Some of you guys need to uncork a bit, okay? It's Friday, relax. I can look forward to plowing my driveway tomorrow morning.
It sounds like you're a bit more concerned about the sex than the visa.

Thanks for that - answers a lot of questions!
I just know that we all share the same impatience already with the US government (who would for some reason rather spend up to a year determining whether or not they should allow our fiance(e)s to come who are trying the LEGAL way than attempt to put any sort of halt on illegal immigration) and things like this are scary topics for us. That being said, it is a reality and we need to look into it so we aren't caught with our pants down.

Jaskamiin, if you are going to post something like this that is going to upset a lot of people, it would always be better to post your source. Otherwise, it is just "hearsay" and unsubstantiated. The processing of petitions and applications are supported by the fees that we pay - not funded by the US budget.
I troll the immigration news every day, and have not read anything that says this.

Is anyone aware of how the government shutdown is going to affect petitions?
As I understand it, new petitions/applications will not be accepted, however in-process ones will continue to be processed. That should mean that speed up the process for those being reviewed, for those of you who are "en-route".
