  1. Hello everyone...first of all thanks to all of those people in VJ who helped us to get through this long process...now that my husband has been in the US for a little bit over a month...I wanted to know if any of you can help me about what to do next for his green card process...although I did make a payment before he left for US...we haven't heard anything yet...just wondering if there's anything we need to do from our end..any help would be helpful...thanks in advance :)

  2. Did you find out that your case is completed because you called? or did they send you an email?

Do you have a interview date yet?

Yes, I called NVC and found out that my case was complete but I called after I saw N/A on the online status for AOS fee..I was "COMPLETE" status first but since it changed into N/A I was curious and I called them and they confirmed that my case was complete..I called the next day again just to double check and they gave me a date when it was completed :)

I got the interview date of October 14th on the 23rd day since the case was completed, now I'm just waiting for this waiting game to be over!! Good luck !!

  3. Called NVC around evening time on Sept. 2nd out of curiosity, if they had IV date for me..for the first time, this rep was very polite and gave me a good news that IV date is scheduled for Oct 14th..I asked when I'll get the email confirmation regarding IV date, she said in about a week..then the next day, around evening time, on Sept. 3rd..received an email confirmation with IV date of Oct 14th..Sooooooo excited that I don't even know what I want to do...finally the waiting game will be over very soon now that I've a date..sooooo happyyyyyyyyyy

  4. Omg...they put me on hold for 1 hour and 3 minutes and talked for less than a minute!!! So annoying...this girl named Ariel...when I asked if she can tell me how long in average I will have to wait for the interview date email..she said she can't tell, there's no time frame and there's nothing one can do but to wait for the email! Then, I asked if the NVC sends the documents after the case is complete to the designated country's US Embassy and if my documents has be send out yet? She answered that until the interview date is scheduled, NVC will keep all the documents..and she adds that my case was initially completed on 14th of August...and I was told before by another rep that it was completed on the 18th...since most of the people here got their confirmation email for CC on the 7th day...I'll take my the 14th as my original date of CC...oh lord...all I need is patience and more patience....

  5. Congratulations !!! Hope we will get interview date very soon.

    Congrats :D

Congratulations. I have added you to the spreadsheet. Welcome to the group. Scheduling for October should start hopefully tomorrow or Thursday.

Thank you guys...I really hope that we will get the interview date very soon. When I called NVC on last Tuesday and asked what are the chances of getting an interview date any soon, the rep's response was..that they are done scheduling for the month of August and told me to expect an email for interview date on the 1-2 week of September..now I can't wait until this month is over

  6. CC was confirmed by phone on Monday, the 18th and I received an email this morning, Thursday, the 21st notifying that an email will be sent out once the interview is scheduled...I also called on Tuesday to ask about the next step, the rep told me that NVC is done scheduling interviews for the month of August, so he asked me to expect an email in the first or second week of September...meaning more waiting...

One of my friend got her CC on August 11th, then she received an email regarding the interview date (September 2nd) on August 15th..I guess some people are just plain more lucky :S

  7. Hello everyone...this morning I called NVC & to my surprise...it went through on the very first dial...I couldn't believe for quick seconds & literally looked at my phone, if it was the correct number :) then after waiting for good 25 minutes, the rep tells me that our case got completed! And she added that the next step would be to wait for the email for the interview date...she said that August is pretty full and they won't be sending email until September...which I've no clue what she meant, but anyways for now...I'm relieved...I know I should be happy right now, but since I've waited for too long, missed my 1st anniversary and all these waiting games with NVC, has made me kind of numb even to be happy..now that the case is complete...I don't think I will feel 100% myself and 100% happy until my husband arrives here....but thank you so much for all the support and strength...you guys rock!! Saylin...special thanks to you...for making this journey easy...and good luck to all of the rest of you..hope you all get your cases complete very soon & meet your special someone :)

    P.S. I'll still be around...I ain't going nowhere hehe :)

From reading people's previous posts, it means you have case complete. You should call tomorrow and confirm!

Good luck, hopefully its good news!!! :D

I think this means your case is completed.... Congratulations.... You did it.

Depends on when you sent it. If it's near the 60 day mark, then I would hold off but if it has been about 2-3 weeks and you have other documents which will need to be submitted after then sending it in won't hurt at all. I sent my 2013 return with w-2 and it was accepted, didn't need to send in a transcript.

Sounds like a case complete to me!!! Congratulations! Please make sure to call and confirm tomorrow! Good luck!

Congratulations. When was ur last scan date?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONGRATULATIONS call for the heck of it but you have your CC so very happy for you wow what a feeling that must be. :D

That's a sign of case complete :dancing: :joy: call NVC when they open and confirm.

Congratulations, looks like you have case complete, call and confirm as soon as NVC opens. It is not taking the full 60 days, it took you 53 days?

  8. Ok guys...I've been waiting for the 60 days wait to be over...one more week left...but I just checked the status online...and the "AOS fee" showed up as N/A, before it used to be "paid" and the IV still is in "paid" status....but is it a good sign? I hope it is...I asked this question to the rep when I called last week and the guy said...it doesn't mean anything good or bad...and he can't answer to that question...

  9. Guys... any ideas if this 60 days NVC wait time is 60 normal days or 60 business days? I just want to call NVC only to bug them...seriously...I don't think "our call is important to them"...they want us to "remain on the line & our patience will be greatly appreciated...yea right...my BEHIND! Anyways calling them again, even though I already know what they're going to tell me....I'm calling them..just to get on their nerve....since I can't do much but get angry & frustrated :(

  10. I am sorry that you are not with ur husband to celebrate ur 1st anniversary, but you have to wait for another week and I pray u get a case complete.

    Hope everything goes well.

((((((((((Bomzy4ever)))))))))) it wont take that long they are doing it to cover their behinds. Don't be sad give yourself a hug I did. :Dsmileys-embrace-hug-431475.gif

Don't be disheartenedi just say (a few pages back) that June 23 case got approved and got a Case Complete --- I think you should be through in a week or two at the latest. Fingers crossed. And have a very happy anniversary!!!!!

Thank you guys...your kind words means a lot to me at this time...hugs

  11. I didn't bother to call NVC all this time after I was told that they scanned my IV packet on July 2nd, thinking it's better to call exactly on the 30th business day but tonight I lost my patient, so called and here this rep tells me that it'll take longer than 30 business days! #######! Seriously? Tells me to give them about 4-6weeks starting tthe day my documents were scanned...and he didn't give me an exact answer when I asked if it is straight 4-6 weeks or again "business days"....I'm just worried and I really hope that I will not get any checklist for my IV packet, I'm going to lose all of my patience if that happens! Arrrgggghhhhhhhh

  12. Questions for those whose case got completed already - are we suppose to watch out for the online status to change after each documents have been reviewed? For example, I submitted DS261 first and the status for it ever since I have submitted is only "completed", for AOS, glad I didn't get any checklist but after checking up at NVC they confirmed that it has been reviewed and approved, but the status never changed from N/A, for IV packet I'm half way to complete my "30 business days" and it's N/A...do I need to worry about the status...does anyone know if it ever changes after the case is completed? Just being curious...thanks in advance

  13. Just talked to one of this A-hole at NVC...he wouldn't even let me talk, and after blabbering for good 2 minutes about how well I've done submitting AOS, when I asked when my IV packet was scanned, he wouldn't even tell me...I wasted my freaking 50 mins for nothing...now calling again and hoping that this time same A-hole won't pick up my call...now I really wish they were in our place :(

  14. This is what they did to us. The NVC waited until the 30th day and then gave us a false checklist for our AOS. The day after we received the false checklist came a real checklist. Unbelievable.

I hope yours is only a false checklist. Good luck.

I just got done talking to the Customer rep at NVC, he said..I can ignore the email, and the AOS reviewing is done...now wait for IV packet reviewing to get done...I'm glad to hear that AOS review is over with no checklist, I hope I don't get any real checklist...like you said...I'm kind of relief now but still, I don't want to be too excited at this point.

  15. Recieved an email stating "Coverletter checklist" and the attachment doesn't indicate any documents that's being asked...is it normal? false checklist? It's close to 30 "business days" since I sent out AOS Packet...if it is false checklist...why in the world workers at NVC wasting time to send out email...that'll scare the ####### out of people like us!!

  16. So, you need to think as the beneficiary here. Let me give you it from my point of view and how I filled these questions out....

Is your husband a UK citizen and immigrating with you? NO. Why? My husband isn't a non-US citizen so he's already living there, so is not immigrating with me.

Which address does your spouse live at (considering your spouse might not live in the USA) - Same a YOUR present address in the UK? No. Same as the intended US address? Yes (I'm going to move in with him, which is why I'm moving to this address.

So I think you would answer, No to the first question and Same as the intended US address for the second.

Remember this form is also used for Diversity Visa applicants so the questions have to be slightly ambiguous.

Edit: Remember that the DS-260 is intended to be completed by the beneficiary, not the petitioner. Although the petitioner is allowed to complete it, ALL questions should be answered from the beneficiary's perspective.

    Hi ColGil,

I understand that all questions in this form should be answered from the beneficiary's perspective, but it makes no sense and the option to which i should select I'm still confused. Beneficiary, who is my husband will be immigrating with me in the US and the question is being asked about the current wife, who is me/petitioner already living in the US.

Oh my goodness, this should be such a simple task and questions are asked in so complicated way that makes no sense at all!!

    Please help!!!

  17. Please do not quote me on this and take this as qualified advice until I get a case complete, but I was in the same situation (I'm the beneficiary) and I've moved around a lot. I can't quite remember the exact month I moved into all my past addresses, but I just estimated the closest possible date and made sure my end date of one address and the start date of the next address were the same.

If he doesn't have any documentation (lease agreements, etc.) I would say for him to just make the closest guess possible. See if he can recall moving in (what time of year was it, did it coincide with the start of a new job, finishing school, major holidays etc.) Maybe he can remember what was happening in his life when he moved in and jog his memory. For example I always remember when we moved into our house because it was Cinco de Mayo. ha ha

    thanks to both of you!!

ANOTHER QUESTION regarding current spouse, I'm not sure which one to choose for "Spouse's Address" field..it gives be 4 options - same as present, same as intended US address, DO NOT KNOW, Other -specify.

The funny thing is I'm the petitioner and I am already living in the US...and when I click on either of those options, the last question appears asking - is your spouse immigrating to US with you? Well I'm already in the US..how do i answer that, whether i check Yes or No...it's still a wrong question and answer will be obviously wrong...please suggest!! thanks
