  1. another tip...if you can choose your seat, dont get them near the bathroom (on the big planes they have bathrooms in the middle of the plane). it was a nightmare, my daughter couldnt take a nap for a long time because somebody would always go in and out, closing/opening doors. my husband ended up just walking with her till she fell asleep in his arms.

bring the car seat and a straller too, much easier with all the kid stuff. or here is a cool thing, saw several at the airport during our trip 2 weeks ago http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/produc...ategoryId=86218

  2. depending on where your seat is, you can ask for a bassinett thing (if your kid sleeps in the crib by herself). we flew international with a 9 mos. old, it was a night time too, she slept the whole flight on my lap. a couple weeks ago we flew with our 14 mos old in US, well she wouldnt sleep till she got into her car seat. so all depends on the kid. anyway, international flights usually have empty seats, so before you board the plane, go ask them if there are any unoccupied seats so you can use it to put the car seat. usually they are very helpfull. if not, then you can always check your seat in at the gate.

And i am not sure how much you pay for the tickets, but you'll have to pay a good amount for your daughter too to sit on your lap. couple years ago we paid around $200.

  3. you probably still have lots of energy left to deal with immigration :innocent: . Personally, i was too tired and lazy, so only sent what was required, no extras (hubby was kinda lazy to copy same stuff over and over too :bonk: ). Otherwise, looking good

P.S. i did add a brief cover letter, listing all the stuff i included in the package

  5. when we traveled with our then 8 mo. old daughter, they charged us $200. they did offer some bassinett but we refused. on the connecting flight (British Airways) they made her wear a little vest that i was supposed to connect to my belt (which was really uncomfortable, since she wanted to sleep). So, they always charge for international tickets, but domestic flight are free for under 2 y.o.

  6. it might be a silly question, but when it comes to immigration forms you wouldnt want to mess it up. since i came to US 4 years ago, i've never had a job. I was too busy being pregnant and having kids :D. so, what do i write in the part 6 B, where it asks about jobs and schools? do i say homemaker/stay-at-home mom/unemployed? or leave it blank?

  7. they opened a new office in Durham, so it might be pretty fast! from what i read on another forum some applications take a couple month, some a couple years. it all depends on time slots they have available for interview. Charlottle is way behind from what i hear. i guess we are lucky to be close to Durham ;)
