  1. If I were you ..I would have applied for I 130 like yesterday. Like the other posters have mentioned your chances of getting a tourist visa are slim. ( No harm in trying though)

With that said your only recourse is to file I 130. Once you become naturalized you can upgrade your petition from F2A to IR1/CR1 and you won't have to wait for the visa bulletin to be current.

    Good Luck.

  2. Dwheels (or anyone else), is there an in-depth list of interview questions somewhere? I've seen a few links to some questions, which my wife and I have reviewed and mastered. But she's still nervous, so I figured if we found some more, we'd just keep reviewing more questions until her interview next week. I know she'll be fine, but I understand her apprehension. Thanks!

Heres what I have compiled for review for my spouse ( Some questions are about the petitioner )

    Who is calling you?

    Where does he live?

Does he live alone or does he share with someone else?

What does he do for a living?

Where and what position I work?

    When he went to US?

    Who is sponsoring you?

What does your joint sponsor's work?

How do you guys know each other?

How did he propose to you?

Why he was the one for me?

    How did he propose?

When did he propose to you?

Where did he propose to you?

What do you do for a living?

    How will you support yourself?

    When did you get married?

    Is this your first marriage?

Is this your husband's first marriage?

Do you know what happened to your husband's previous marriage?

When did your husband get divorced?

    Have I met his parents?

Has he met your family - what do they think of him?

    What is her ex-husband’s name?

Where does your ex-husband live right now?

When and how did your husband go to USA?

    Was he married before?

    Why did he divorce?

Why did he change his last name?

When did he visit you last time?

How many times I had been to see him?

What do your parents think about you leaving?

Have you ever applied for a US VISA?

    Have you visited the U.S?

Have you met his family - what are they like?

    What is my fiancée’s birthday?

What are your plans for the wedding?

What are you going to do in the US?

    Marriage arranged or love?

    Who arranged the marriage?

How did your husband get his green card?

Had I ever been arrested or had trouble with immigration?

  3. To all my friends here in Visa Journey,
It was a very stressful time during the past year and it finally ended as my wife's visa was issued yesterday.
Well, maybe not exactly. I won't breathe a sigh of relief until she lands in my arms and I can feel her.
If we can go through this painful process then our patience was tested to the limit and so nothing else will stress us out.
We became husband and wife on the 27th of February 2013 (didn't see her personally before I got married, only her pictures).
I left her country to come to US on the 28th of February 2013, we spent only 1 day as a husband and wife.
It was very tough for both of us to be away from each other. I can't count how much tears were shed.
If I would have started collecting all these tears, I would have created a mini Mississippi river. But, we are through with this and I have no desire to create a river of tears and I pray to GOD that nobody would have to.
At last prayers have been answered and I guess we all have to wait for our turn.
Hope there was a easier or more efficient way to handle this immigration thing specially uniting spouses and minor children, but nobody will hear from us. Not the White House nor the Capitol Hill. They have their own agenda and worry about their own future but not ours.
Somebody will hear you and me and that somebody is someone we haven't seen but whoever that is it is beyond any imagination.
Good Luck to all my friends, that day will come and it will be YOUR day nobody else's.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who have morally and/or emotionally supported me.
    Thank you.

    Congrats and good luck.

  4. It is not that simple. You need the Demand Data for F2A up to Feb 2014 to know the number of pending cases. Once you have that you can work out the math based on per country Limit to see the PD movement. Let me know if you find the Demand Data.

Just throwing this question so someone who has knowledge can explain.

What's the logic in making the VB current and then not moving the VB for 8 months or so? Might as well move the VB a couple months rather?

  5. what is NVC checklist reviewing time. I know the NVC say 30 business but what is the real time. all the paper is ok only thing they are reviewing is employment verification letter and if my case get completed when do I expect my interview date (Mumbai Consulate)

15 - 20 business days is what I've been seeing

depends when your CC date is.

If before Feb 20th then you will get April Interview

If after Feb 20th the you could get April but more likely May Interview

    Good Luck

  6. Hi Guys,

I finally got this notice from NVC stating that my case is complete and sent to Guangzhou Consulate and the interview date is March 17.

However, in the letter it also has a list of documents seemingly needed for the interview. The instruction on these documents is kind of confusing. I've attached the document requirement here.

What is this Financial Evidence here? The status S means that NVC received a scanned copy and I need to bring the real one to the interview. Does this mean I need to mail my tax return for the I-864 to my wife so she can bring the original document to the interview?

I can't think of anything else that's financial evidence. Any advice would be really appreciated!!

Just checked mine: Financial Evidence has "Y" Status.

I guess it has something to do with EP

There was a case where the AOS was missing altogether from the packet at the embassy and an original AOS was requested.

So just to be safe i'm sending another copy of the AOS (original and ink signature) to my spouse along with the tax returns/w2 etc [basically the AOS packet ]

    Good Luck

  7. although my case is in NVC, i m having lots of mental tourture coz of papers. I hav lots of paper which r translated n notarized in different dates... Stil m sending some papers to my wife.. My question is, When i wil go for interview, how many photocopy should i take? Is notarized paper enough coz it looks like bundle if i take extra photocopy. I wil take notarized Nepali orginal photocopy and notarized translated orginal of every paper.. And some papers r already in English. Are they enough?

    Credit: formywife

Below is the list of civil documents I submitted to NVC:

    1. IV Application cover sheet with Bar-code.

    2. IV application Fee Payment Receipt.

    3. Two US Passport Size Photo of my wife.( Dont forget to write Case Number and Beneficiary name on the back of Photo)

    4. Marriage Certificate and its copy

    5. Certificate of Relationship and its copy ( optional)

    6. Birth Certificate of my wife and its copy.

    7. Police Report of my wife from Nepal and its copy.

    8. Nepalese Citizenship Certificate Card ( Nepali Nagrikta) of my wfe and its copy. I mentioned in the cover that letter Back side ( Side which does NOT contain Photo) of Nepalese Citizenship contains Information in English. I Highlighted this sentence with marker also

    9. Copy of Biographic page of Nepalese Passport of my wife.

    10. Document Showing ITIN Number Issued to my wife by IRS and its copy. Its optional but still I put it to show proof of relationship to Embassy later on)

    11. Copy of my US Passport.

    12. My Birth Certificate and its Copy. ( Optional)

    13. Employment Verification letter from my Employer and its copy.( Its optional but still I put it )

    14. Receipt of Western Union Money Transfer, Skype Chat Logs, Internet Phone call logs ( Its optional but still I put it to show proof of relationship to Embassy later on)

Which married date have you written on the I 130 form. Follow that date and make sure that your marriage certificate reflects that date.

The ones in red are usually in Nepali. So those needs to be translated.

Also, Write Case Number on top right side of each documents in Pencil.

  8. Hello All,

I'm new here to this site. I had a question. I also received this letter in my email this morning. Does it mean all my documents are approved and i'm just waiting for an interview? How long will it take to get an interview date? it's been almost a year since i applied. I applied on March 8, 2013 for i130. The i130 was approved November 9th, 2013.

    Thanks,

    Khalil

    Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment

until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of

the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at

    the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

    That's a case complete email.

Now you will have to wait for an interview date. NVC assigns one towards the end of the month (last week of Feb) for interview dates in April.

Join/Follow this forum as there are others in similar situation.

please reply me soon thank you

    Is your PD current?

NVC generally gives out interview dates the last week of the month.

They just issued interview dates last week for some countries and I believe are still assigning dates.

I f you don't hear anything by this week then most likely the last week of Feb. (It also depends how busy your embassy is)

Also head over to this forum (for similar cases)

  10. Hi all

My case complete at NVC under f2a on 27 jan 2014.

For my wife and 4 months old baby. Waiting for IL .

Another side my citizenship interview got done in dec 2013 approved.

Waiting for oath letter. Hopefully get oath for March 2014.

Question : if case left from NVC and interview scheduled for april 2014

And I get oath ceremony gor March, still I have to call NVC let them know

About my citizenship , if yes should I have to file separate i130 for my son?

Where interview date will already be initiated.

    Thanks for any advice

The link has the correct information.

Once you naturalize, you will have to provide that information to NVC/Embassy. You will go from F2A to IR1/CR1 and you will have to file another I 130 for your son

you could postpone your oath ceremony till after the interview.

    Good Luck

  11. hey guys just have a few questions for P4 some concerns... if they have been answered please post a link for me..

in my P4 it has a code... and than it lists a number of documents.. with those code letters next to it....

    on it it says

Y- NVC sent this form or document to us embassy or consulate...

O- NVC sent this form or document to US embassy or Consulate..

two different letter codes for same thing.. why?

birth cert, police cert... and "termination of marriage" is marked with "O" (BTW NIETHER OF US WAS MARRIED BEFORE HOW COULD NVC SEND IT?)

passport, financial evidence, photograps.. marked with "Y" ( passport was never sent to NVC so again how could they send it?)

and again codes Y and O mean same thing so wht do they ask for 2 different letters for same thing?

    I am guessing

    O = original

    and Y= photocopies

In mine birth, marriage, and police has "O" [ all of those were originals that I sent to NVC]

    Anyone??

  12. I have posted this in Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g) thread as well.

I am just trying to collect more audiences here on a main thread.

Our application had been sitting at the embassy as "Administrative Processing" since the 22nd of January. Suddenly the date changed to 30th of January but the status stays the same. What does it mean? Does it mean we are getting close to approval or denial?

    History:

Interviewed on the 14th of January, counselor asked for the "Original Birth Certificate", he kept the passport and returned all the originals.

Submitted the Original Birth Certificate on the 22nd of January.

    Thanks,

I'd call the DOS and then call the embassy to check on the status. From the post above, the new document that you gave the embassy needs to be reviewed before visa being issued. Cases and embassies are different but it took about a month in his case.

Call DOS and find out if they have entered the new document in the system.

    Good luck

  13. I just received this information below from nvc. has any one received such info before. am so confused. do I send the co sponsor to nvc or should wait nvc will give me interview date so I send da co sponsor to the consular at the interview? pls help.

The NVC has received the information you have submitted in reference to the Affidavit of Support. Please be advised that the Affidavit of Support information you have provided does not appear to meet the minimum income requirement according to the current poverty guidelines to sponsor the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of your interview. In order to avoid delays, you may wish to submit an additional Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) for a/another Joint Sponsor to the National Visa Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrants. To view the current poverty guidelines, visit

Do you meet the minimum income requirement?? Your reported income should be above the poverty line for the corresponding household size.

    Take a look at this

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

If not then you will have to find a joint sponsor.

    Good Luck

  14. Congrats!!

I upgraded our petition from F2A to CR1 while at NVC. In our case, the timing happened to work out, I was sworn while NVC was processing our case and we got a checklist.

From what I can tell, it did not affect the time we spent in NVC. Once you are a USC, NVC folks told me that we must update our category.

I am glad it worked out for you.

I was also following your upgrade process. I got conflicting versions when inquiring with NVC and there wasn't any case like mine when I tried searching it up. So the timing of the upgrade was what made me choose what I did. I got Like you said, glad it all worked out. One more step left now.

All the best and good luck.
