Well, my former fiancée returned to the Philippines yesterday after only 2 weeks here. Long story short, she never intended to marry me and was put under a lot of pressure by her family to come here. She admitted that she led me on so I would send money. I pray that she can have a safe and happy future at home.
My question is this: What obligation do I have to USCIS to report that she has gone home and the visa is no longer valid? And is there anything I can do to ensure she is not allowed to scam another US Citizen in the future?
Thanks for any help you can provide. I wish all of you more success in this process. There are many long term, happy and successful Fil-am marriages here in my small community. I know this forum was a great help to me when doing all the work to make what I thought was both of our dream become reality.

What Hank said. You should be fine.

A couple of weeks ago they took the old versions (in Muntinlupa) as long as they were in good or better condition. When I went to the bank before I left the US, they tried to give me the new monopoly money. It was the first time I had ever seen them, and I was concerned that the money changers might not have ever seen the new 100 before. I had the bank give me all good condition old-style bills.
Good luck.

when I hit "upload the photo" I get an error page. Anyone else having this problem?

Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your experience. Our interview is supposed to be November 4th, reading these reports really helps!

Thanks David. My sweetheart is in Muntinlupa, so for us it's usually a two jeepney ride to MOA. It's not like we have to stay in Manila all the time. Manila reminds me of being in Chicago or New York City, you are in an environment riddled with predators. Muntinlupa is a big place for me, about 450,000 people, but the locals have always been open and kind, and I feel very safe there. Of course, I think everybody there knows and is scared of her grandmother, who introduced us...She's the Seal Team 6 of grandmothers around there...

Thanks Gary, I'll look at doing the same (except through Seattle). I'm not an enthusiastic flier, but the aircrew and ground crew at EVA really put me at ease. They made it as nice as hurtling through the air at 600 knots in a cattle car can be. I also like their website for checking air fares, there can be quite a big difference by switching a couple of days.
The Hello Kitty terminal in Taipei creeped me out a little bit, especially with the groups of 60 year old Japanese business men in suits lining up to have their pictures taken with Hello Kitty...it's a different world...

Thanks, Hank.
Yes, I'm planning on being there. She asked if I would go, and I was thrilled because I was hoping to be there for the interview, and I'm always ready to go back and visit the family and enjoy being over there.
I fully understand the embassy warning, but the difference in airfare is worth the gamble, especially if the tickets can be changed. So far the process has been smooth sailing, but we did death by paperwork and have sent in very organized packets. Keeping our fingers crossed...

We have booked our embassy appointment and are at the stage of looking for airfare. Any advice from veterans out there? Should I book 2 tickets with the ability to change dates? A one way for her? What has worked for you in the past?
I usually use Eva Air from Seattle, they have been outstanding.
Thanks,
Chris

Thanks again, Hank. It was the deposit receipt number. We now have an appointment, for November 4th. The earliest Manila appointment was October 7th, so I hope other applicants get in there early. Putting the date back allows us both to be there and gives her plenty of time to get the medical and CFO done.
Thanks again for your help. We are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel!

I'm trying to get the BPI receipt number from my fiancee, and she's given me several numbers from the page. Does anyone know the format of the receipt number? Some of the numbers she gave me have numbers and letters, and some are 8 digits or 12 digits broken in to three sections with dashes. I'm trying to get her to scan it and email it to me, but I figure somebody has seen this before.
Thanks for all the help, this forum is a lifesaver when going through this process.

Thanks, Hank - after I posted this I re-read your website and there it was, plain as day. I think my brain is beginning to hurt with the number of online forms and calls to NVC and State today...thank goodness they are still working in spite of the shutdown.

What do we use as a priority date for the K1 interview scheduling? I don't see it on the paperwork we have so far.
-
Thanks for all of your replies - I called and they were very helpful. I was suprised that they are open during the shut down. Maybe that's why the wait time was so short, under 15 minutes.

I have the NVC Case Number, but don't know what the NVC Invoice ID Number is. To fill out the DS-260, it's asking for that, and saying to refer to the message from NVC. I haven't received a message from NVC, but they told me the case number and said the package shipped to the embassy the day before the gov't shut down at midnight. Any ideas?

Approved August 20th, still not received/no case number as of last night.
