  1. Unfortunately people see a few fluke quick approvals out of thousand and thousands likely done to make USCIS averages better, and think that's how it's going to be for them. It is erroneous thinking and is only going to aggravate you.

They don't tell people when their case will be adjudicated because they don't know, and even if they did, they still wouldn't tell you, because then if for whatever reason it didn't happen in that timeframe people would just freak the ###### out on them.

People who just filled in November and forward should be far less antsy in the pantsy and expecting approvals any day now. Expect 5-6 month wait. If it comes sooner, then goody.

I don't know why but this cheered me up in a weird way, these 3 1/2 months don't feel so terrible when you think of it like that. Seeing others early gets pretty upsetting but I didn't really take in the fact that its a small fraction (even if it seems like the majority, anecdotal evidence and all).

  2. I FEEL THE SAME WAY!!! We applied late October and recieved our NOA1 right away, and NOTHING since then.. no alien registration number, no updates, no "touched," nothing. Meanwhile there are people here that applied around the same time and are already going for their interview. I hate that they don't give you any information whatsoever. The person I spoke with last time said I can't do anything until the 5 month current processing time is up, only wait. It makes me so upset and frustrated sad.png

I'm on the exact same situation I got my NOA1 on Oct 22nd. no allien registration # change, no NOA2 nothing. I'm a little worry my case got lost. I call and they said the same time that I'm currently within 5 months processing time! This is really frustration sad.pngsad.png

You two hang in there, lets keep eachother updated on our situations, yeah? I'll make sure to message both of you on this board or in private to let you know what's up if I finding anything out. You two do the same hopefully :)

Good luck everyone, we can hang in there.

  3. Perhaps they didn't update their system. On the USCIS website even to this day it still says On October 25, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) however my fiances interview is in four days. They also didn't update another member here. We didn't find out until our I-129F was approved until sometime around Dec 17th or so when the embassy called my fiance and told her to go there. She told me the NOA2 was actually approved I think Nov 20 I forget exact dates for these but its in my timeline. Our petition was pretty basic never married before, no children maybe yours is more complex?

    Good luck.

Thanks for the response, I called them up and it still says 31st it was changed. No calls/letters/emails to either of us. We also have no children, its a pretty simple petition overall. No previous petitions or any complications.

Thanks again, hope luck is with us.

  4. Hey everyone, panicking here, we sent our I-129F on October 10th and got our NOA 1 on the 15th of October.

It's been over 90 days and still nothing about our NOA2, it seems everyone else is already at the interview state. Feel like having a melt down right now, I called and apparently the last update was 31st of October they changed our alien registration number.

I don't know what to do, it feels like they've somehow forgotten us :(

  5. Hey everyone, wanted to get some opinions from y'all.

Me (the usc) and my fiance have been together since June 2013, our trips since then have been like this:

    -September 4 2013 - September 16 2013 (14 days)

    -October 13 2013 - January 8th 2014 (87 days)

We filed for our K1 visa before her second trip and they sent our NOA 1 on October the 15th 2013, we're still waiting for the NOA2.

We want to visit again as soon as possible because we miss each other a lot (of course), when do you think we can do this without being turned away at customs. She had to go to the second room during her second visit to be further questioned, they called me and I answered questions honestly (our application for the K1 wasn't showing up in their system yet, so things seemed tense over the phone).

    Thanks for any input!

We're wanting to have her fly back on the 13th of February (just a little over a month after being home). Does our having the K1 in process help us, especially since she has shown she will return home by doing so twice on time?

-She is unemployed and not a student, lives with her parents.

-I have yet to visit her, I'm a full time student and can't get the time to do so.

  7. It's a London thing. For the I-864 you will fill out a form. Here's one of many who only turned In a form from the mom sponsor. The interview was on Sept 18. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/?p=6520831

Do your parents have a pension or social security? That counts. It doesn't have to be a job. I mention that because some don't know. Are you in school in Houston?

    Good to hear!

My father does have a pension from what I understand, he also has a retirement fund from his company as well as his own investments. He is currently not taking out social security, he's waiting to get older so he receives more benefits from it, more than capable of living without it at the moment.

I'm actually in school at Sam Houston State University right now, this is my final year so I'm very excited. This whole thing is really giving me sleepless nights because I really love my fiance-to-be and everything seems so daunting, difficult, and hopeless. This whole process is very confusing and I'd love if some time I could maybe pick your brain in a private message or something?

  8. Hello everyone, just getting into this whole immigration mess and have yet to file any forms. I want to get everything right the first time. So before my question I feel appropriate to give a bit of background information.

I'm 22 and a full time college student living with my parents whom are both retired in the USA. I'm a USC and have never lived out of country. My parents have a very large amount of assets but obviously little to no income since they no longer work. They recently financed their home (which took a lot of effort considering their lack of income and only large amounts of assets. My fiance to be is 21 and UK citizen. She has visited me once already about 1 week ago for a two week stay. She is coming again to visit in December or one month and go on a cruise with my family to the Bahamas. I'm sharing all this because I figure it may be helpful when we get to the interview process and I'm checking if I'm correct in assuming this.

    My questions:

    - Will it be possible to use a cosponsorship with my father if he has little income but very large assets? If so, would this work if I'm making absolutely zero income myself?

    - My fiance plans to live with me at my parents until I have finished my degree and gotten on my own feet, my parents are more than supportive of this idea. However, is it even possible? My main concern being my lack of income and my fathers lack of income (even with assets) since I've hear fiance visa will not use assets and only income.
