In terms of the visa application, then, it should be perfectly irrelevant.
In terms of where you choose to live and what rights and obligations you will have will then depend on the state you live in.
In any case, your application should not face any trouble because of differing legislation in her country of origin, so you're good to go. Best of luck!

It should not matter as long as you are able to marry in your state.
Finland also lacks same-sex marriage, and I googled this furiously when the DOMA fell, and as far as I know it should have no affect on your application as long as you live in a state that has legalized same-sex marriage.

Well how blind of me to not have found that earlier!
Thanks a lot!

Have people they can call to quiz about your relations in the US. Your employer, your parents, your landlord, people who they will consider as serious informants. I mean, your landlord wouldn't lie in your behalf, right?
Personally I wouldn't worry too much, and your earlier visits should speak for themselves-- you've always left when you've said you would, right?
Never been denied entry myself, so can't say I'm an expert. I just firmly believe that border control employs humans, not heartless machines.
Doubt visiting less often would hurt your application, it's a matter of whether or not you can spend the time apart. I and my partner can only visit each other twice a year due to finances, and I will be mighty mad if that makes our relationship seem any less legitimate.

So they won't have us running circles and jumping hoops by having us resubmit the files? I'm pretty used to anything to do with any kind of life changes to throw all the plans awry.

After we begin the visa process, is my fiancee allowed to move to another city/state within the United States, and if so, will we be required to re-send the I-129F files? Or is she going to have to stay put at her address until the visa process has been completed and I have my visa in hand?
You see, we would like to begin filing in April/May, when she's still in California. However, she would be seeking to move to Massachusetts in September-ish. Should we push back the application until after she's moved? (UGHHH I hope not)
Translations of documents?
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures

I can get most the paperwork necessary in English directly from their respective institutions if I so request.
However for the few that I cannot, can I translate them myself or is that seen as suspicious?
I'm a few ECTS away from being BA of English Language and Translation Studies and by the time we expect to be in the process, possibly compiling packet number 2, I should be a thesis away from being a MA in the aforementioned field. So in terms of my English, as well as formal education, I should be well qualified to translate a few silly slips of paper.
But are they going to be considered "adequate"? Have other people translated their own documents?
It is stated that the documents must be translated by a person with good grasp of the English language, but that does not necessarily rule myself out, does it?
