Rana, I just want to tell you how much I love your profile photo. It's a perfect picture of love.
I'm glad you posted. My fiance is also in Alexandria. I am so excited to be going to see him in 12 short days! When was the last time you were with your sweetheart?
Aww that's so exciting!! I haven't seem him since July and it's killing me
I'm a full-time student and can't make that trip until summer time, but I'm hoping he's here before May so that he'll be with me when I graduate
prayinggggggg for it so we'll see. Have fun on your trip though, I miss Alexandria so much!

I just found this post and I would like to join in
I'm Rana, born in Egypt, but came to the US when I was 8 back in 1999 and I'm now a US citizen....My fiance is also Egyptian in Alexandria and we met when I was visiting family over the Summer. We got engaged 06/24/2013 and I applied for the K1 visa in July.
This website has helped us sooo much during this process and I love how everyone tries to keep each other motivated and thinking positive

It could be shorter too...I hope it is for you. The exact same thing happened to my fiance, and then we were approved about 15 days after they received the updated test. Good luck!
Wow that gives me a little bit of hope. Thank you!!
Only 11 months of AP-- we were approved pending AP. They had his passport the entire time.
That's sooo long!! I'm glad you have it now though and maybe it's because it's a spouse visa and not a fiance I know they do a lot more background checks for those. I'm just hoping and praying for the best...

Thank you guys for the quickreply. I guess all that's left to do now is WAIT
worst part of this whole process!!

My fiancé went in for his interview on March 9th. He felt pretty confident about the interview and everything went okay, but he had to get his TB test renewed. The consular officer gave him a white piece of paper with TB test checked and told my fiancé that once he renews the test to send the results into the embassy with that white piece of paper and his passport. The embassy received everything on March 13th so my question is did anyone go through the same thing where they sent in their passport or left it at the embassy during the interview and had a really long AP?
I know that it's barely been 3 weeks but I'm too anxious and terrified of the AP nightmare lasting several months. I'm thinking that since they asked for his passport they wont take too long??

I know I've been reading about the AP nightmare except I'm just keeping it at the back of my mind I wanna enjoy the feeling of knowing he'll be here soon
but that's true and I did email the embassy hoping they would give me any information but they said we'll let you know after the interview, which is not the response I was looking for as usual.
I'll talk with my fiance about possibly renewing the whole thing as well just to be on the safe side and we'll see how it goes with AP hopefully it'll be a short one :/
Thank you so much!

Hii, so this is my first time posting on here but I'm hoping someone who's already went through the K1 process can help me out. My fiance was FINALLY given an interview date and it's in March, but we don't want anything else delaying the case like a TB test or police certificate, etc.
What did the embassy require from those who went and when does each thing expire? I know the TB test has to be renewed before enetring the US as it expires within 6 months and it's already been 5 months since he did it for packet 3. What about the entire medical exam?
Do you guys recommend he do these things BEFORE they ask him or should he wait until they tell him? I'm just so tired of waiting and I don't want anything to delay us after the interview.
Thanks

So just to update you all...I contacted my senator for a status request. The reply was immediate. Egypt is currently working on scheduling those who returned package 3 in September. I assume this means they will start scheduling us (my fiance and I) and October returners in March, we hope and pray. The senators office was told that there is a back log and they are going in chronological order of returned packages not by initial filing date.
We just hope this information is correct but again we will take it with a grain of salt and simply continue being patient.
Good luck to us all, inshaAllah.
Hi! just wanted to give you some good news because I noticed our timelines are pretty similar. My fiance returned his packet 3 on October 18th and we received a call today that his interview's in March so you guys should be hearing something pretty soon if you haven't already
good luck with everything !

We have the bestTV it's just a reciever and it hooks up to your wifi, one time fee and that's it you don't have to pay each month. We've had it for about 2 years now and it still Works perfectly we have about 400 channels, mostly Arabic, but there's some English, Persian, Turkish, etc... I would say About 90% is Arabic with the major news channels: CBC, AlNahar, AlJazeera, etc.
We tried dish network for Arabic TV and they have about 3 good channels on that package nothing special
