  1. Good day today!! Received interview letter in the mail today. Never got text messages or email, and status on the website remains "in line". Interview will be on 10/30. For those that already did the interview, is it okay to bring husband? My naturalization is based on spouse of US citizen and we are wondering if going together would make any difference.

Wishing the very best for all!

I cut my index finger last night when I was doing the dishes and my fingerprint Thursday.

I`m worried they may reschedule me?

Any Idea...it`s just minor cut even no blood....

During my AOS process, I cut my finger in the morning of my fingerprint appointment (believe it or not!). I still went to the appointment to see what they would say and they told me to just go back when it was healed (without any appointment rescheduling). My cut was bad (with a lot of blood), and it took about 3 weeks for me to finally get my fingerprints done. If yours is this minor, you could give it a try and show up for your appointment. Good luck!

  3. Got Biometric Notification in the mail and appointment is for 06/02/2017. Now is when the long wait begins...

    Hello everybody !!!

How do you guys are receiving all these emails and text messages from USCIS??

Can you advice me too please how to do it??

Thank you and have a wonderful evening :)

Once you receive your NOA1 in the mail, use the Receipt Number to sign up for text/email case status updates at https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do. Some people send the form G-1145 with the application, which is used to request a text message and/or email when USCIS accepts your application. If you didn't send G-1145 (I also didn't), you will know your receipt # when you receive your NOA1 in the mail.

  5. I sent my package on 5/2. Just joining everybody....

  6. It is not suppose to, but on my case, it did. I moved from KS to NC and I properly changed my address online, but USCIS assigned my interview to KS office. So, I needed to cancel that and reschedule, which delayed my process in about 2 weeks (they first schedule to July 1 in KS then again to July 17 in NC.

    Good luck!

I too am curious if a change of address (especially one that would switch your local field office) has a negative affect on your processing time.

  7. Interview done yesterday and it was easy going. The officer was extremely nice from the beginning to the end. I was approve on the spot and I got a 10 years GC as we have been married for over two years. We brought our 2 years old daughter (very busy girl!) with us and, as she was all over the place, the officer said: "she is not bothering me at all". So, that made us feel a lot more comfortable. On the end, the officer even walked us to the elevator, holding our daughter on her arms...

Good luck for all of you.

  8. Hi All,

I just got back to our residence and was able to check the mail to find out hard copy interview notice. Along with the notice, I also found an insert related to arrests and to bring documents if you were ever arrested - same as those in the I-485 instructions and looked like a standard insert.

I'm just curious though - if the insert is standard and everyone receives it with their interview notice. For those that have received their interview letters already - did you get the same additional letter?

I'm curious as I have no criminal record (in fact did my own FBI background check to verify), but do routinely get "randomly" selected for extra screening at airports, given I have a common name. So wondering if USCIS found some "hits" on my name - and the insert is their way of telling me....or I could just be paranoid...haha!

Anyway - if anyway that's received their letters could chime in, it would be helpful.

    Cheers!

I've received the same letter along with the interview one. It probably is standard procedure.

  9. intelligent,

My husband just got issued his MD DL yesterday too using his EAD! Of course that was after 4 days spent at the MVA over the past week and half including a 10 hour day yesterday. It was a difficult task to say the least! We had major issues exchanging his out of country license to a MD one and for some reason they issued him a type 2 learners permit (LP) prior last week. He should have never been issued a LP so I think that we may have paid more than we should have. My question is, how long is your license valid for and how much did you pay for it?

Just want to tell my experience getting my DL here in NC. I received my SSN last week and yesterday I went to the DMV. I also have a out of country DL (for 15 years), but the officer didn't even want to see it. As my legal document now is the EAD, valid for 1 year, I could get only a 1 year DL. I took the eye test, the test on computer and the practical test on the road. I payed $4 and I was good to go with a 20 days permit on my hand to use until the DL arrive on the mail. I probably spend less than one hour at the DMV office and my DL is type C.

  10. So today has been one week since I got the email/text saying that the interview letter was sent, but I have not received it yet.

For those who got the letters, someone got it over one week after they sent? I don't want to call USCIS, because they say "call us if you don't receive in 30 days", but we all know that it does not take 30 days...

    Thanks for reading my post!

  11. I'm a bit confuse on how I should write the salary expectation. I have no idea how much do I expect.

Can you share how did you write yours? I want to tell them that they can give me an offer but I'm confuse how to say it polite in english.

    help please!

If this is not required to be filled on your application, just leave it blank. if it is required, you can add a wide range, like from 25,000 to 45,000; but if they accept only one number, you can think what is the minimum you'd work for.

  12. We are on a very tight schedule too...but your husband has to stay in the country until he gets his green card...once you apply for adjustment of status...you are technically "out of status" until your green card arrives/approved...if you applied for an AP along with a EAD then once that is approved, your husband can travel outside of the country...but if I were you I would stay put in the US...so there is no letter necessary for him to stay here...he technically has to haha

Anyone please feel to correct me if I am misinformed... :)

Your NOA1 is the prove that you are legal. No matter which visa your are adjusting from, once your application has been received and processed, you are not out of status anymore until the decision is made. The EAD card is also a prove of legal status.

  13. Got my new interview date today and also my EAD on the mail. For those who remember, I was assigned for an interview in my old address in Kansas and now I live in NC. Today they rescheduled my interview for July 17th.

The USCIS website says that Raleigh is working on cases from 12/10/2013. So, this is just a prove that processing times are not that right.

Good luck to everyone waiting on interview dates.

  14. So my EAD was flagged as undeliverable by USPS - I submitted my change of address but apparently they did not update it on time. It was sent back to them.

I called the USCIS costumer service line and they put a request to change the address - again and re-mail it. I am supposed to wait 30 days.

My interview is in two weeks, hopefully they will have updated my address by then and this does not happen with my green card.

Change of address is a fail.

I also changed but they still assigned my interview to my old address, which is 1200 miles away, so I had to cancel it. I've called many times and they confirm they updated my address, but even after they confirm, they sent the interview cancelation letter to my old address (unbelievable!).

I see that you also had your interview scheduled after your change of address. So, did they send the letter to your new address then?

Sorry to hear that about your EAD.
