What connection started again? And there is no vaccine requirement to enter the US, however, there is a requirement to take a Covid test within 3 days before traveling. Are you sure she understood the airline correctly? Or does the airline itself maybe have a vaccine requirement (I have not heard of this but maybe some are??)

By connection I meant direct flight from Warsaw to LA. Last year when pandemic happened they cancelled all flights. So when they reopen flights to US again my mom booked her flight after speaking to airline representative who told her she would have to be vaccine to board on a flight to US..

Unfortunately the airline did not informed my mother about restrictions and we did not do research prior to buying ticket.

The travel ban has been active for over a year, I'm surprised you missed that.

She can spend two weeks outside Schengen (and other "banned" countries) and then enter the US (without transfer in any "travel ban country").

    Thank you.

People have flown, but they were not impacted by the ban.

    Your Mother is.

    Thank you.

After that connection started again, we got excited and got the ticket. When she called the airline informed her she would need a vaccine to be able to get on the plane. I wish we had done more research before buying that ticket. 😩

She will not be allowed to board the plane.  You need a new plan.

    Thank you.

  4. Hello Everyone!

My mother ( polish citizen with VWP and valid 10 years Tourist Visa) bought her plane ticket from Poland  direct flight to Los Angeles couple of weeks ago.. we got excited that this connection got started again and purchased the ticket. She is fully vaccinated.

Then  we realized that there was a ban for Schengen area..:-( My mother tries to contact airlines to ask some questions, but unfortunately nobody answers. I read that parents of US citizen that are below 21 years old can visit, unfortunately I am way over 21 years old.

My question would be if anybody flew recently to US from Schengen area on tourist visa?

  5. Hello! I wanted to ask your thoughts or maybe experiences on following matter.

My mother had interview for tourist visa last year in October. When she was asked how long she was planning on staying in the US , she answered 2 months. She was granted 10 years visa.  Plans has changed and she is able to stay here for three months, and that's how she booked her return ticket. Neither of us really thought about it until I started reading more about tourist visas.. Now I'm worried she may have problems on the POE..

She already transferred bunch of $ to my account that definiately shows her financial ability to stay here and travel for 3 months (she is retired) which i told her to have copy of that transfer on her just in case.

What do you guys think? Has anybody been in situation like that?

    Thank you.

I assume she will need a visa, a trip to MExico does not reset the I 94.

She is a citizen of a country that doesn't require tourist visa to Mexico. I just needed to know if there may be any problems reentering to US to finish her 3 months vacation in US. Like I mentioned before we are planning to take a week trip to Mexico in the middle of her 3 months stay in US.

I’m not sure I understand what the concern is.

For many countries who need a visa for Mexico, an exemption is made for people with valid US visas (or green cards), easily checked online to confirm her particular case.

The process coming back into the US is like any other entry. You present your documents. If she has a passport with valid visa, she should be fine.

....I'm assuming all this is a genuine trip and the week in Mexico is not simply an attempt to reset the 6 months’ validity  of a tourist visa ...if CBP have any reason to suspect this is the case (For example the trip to Mexico happens 5 months into a tourist visa visit) then there could be an issue. From the times you have given this shouldn’t be a problem though.

Thanks for reply. Thats why I'm looking into getting trip in the middle of her stay here in US not towards the end of her stay.  I wasn't sure how the procedure works. No, she is not looking into resetting her 6 months stay. She doesn't need visa to Mexico.

  8. Hi everyone! I am US Citizen and my mother is visiting me on her tourist visa in two months. She will stay here for 3 months. During her stay here, we were thinking to take a week trip to Mexico. Does anybody know how the procedure entering back to US would look like? Would she have any problems? Maybe  somebody was in situation like this before and could share their experiences? Thank you all in advance.
