Hi guys,
Minor stress here: in looking through my print outs, I do NOT have a print out of my ds-260 confirmation page. Nor did I have it emailed to me.
Interview is nov. 20 and based on a prior immigrant's experience at interview, I belueve they will ask for this confirmation page. In looking at his ds-260 app online, I fear if I reopen the application to get a confirmation, it will mess us up.
Suggestions? Xantax? Thanks in advance

So happy to report VISA APPROVED!!!!
Hubby was in and out in under and hour. He said the lady working at window 7 was a little intimidating as he overheard the people in front of him getting grilled. He was hoping to get another window, but when they called him up "Window 7" ha ha. He said he was sh*tting himself. But, then he tamed the tiger and got approved. It was all very anticlimactic and he wasn't told specifically that he was approved, but she told him all about what would happen with putting the visa in the passport and receiving it in about a week. So, he called me after and said "I think we got approved" and I a was like "What do you mean THINK"
I said as long as they didn't ask you to send anything further and told you they are posting the passport with the visa in it we are approved. I think he was expecting to walk out of there with a piece of paper stamped APPROVED or something.
Funny, in the end we never got asked for a joint sponsor even though my job is not continuing in the States. I had my sister fill everything out in case, but it wasn't needed. However, I did send hubby with a house valuation, bank account info etc. to prove we can provide for ourselves.
Congratulations!
You are beyond the home stretch now!
I think I will go to the interview with my hubby. Were you not allowed?
What a relief no joint sponsor was needed.
When do you put up your house for sale?

Interview scheduled nov. 20.
It was scheduled on Oct. 2.
We had case complete Sept. 30.

Jumping in the pool here to say hello.
CC Sept.30, and appalled at those of you with cc dates of sept 10 and no interview.
Anyway, it would be wonderful if there were a flood of actions on scheduling interviews. I, too, got the party line that it's up to the embassy, which seems like a sort of "cover their ###" response

Not yet. Interview is next week on the 7th October. All things going well and getting approval, we will then put the house on the market, resign from work and start packing! We plan to spend one last Christmas in Oz with hubby's family and start the new year in Washington State.
****hugs**** happy for you! So relieved. Your interview is so soon--time will fly.
Love to all who are still in limbo. I 100000% feel your pain and frustration.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy to see this, you deserve it!
All the best xo
Thank you so much, Amanda
Are you home yet?!?

That's why I had to leave the other NVC thread because I was there too long!
I could no longer take it.
I don't even know half the people who are currently on the other NVC thread because I was becoming an old-timer there.
I keep reading about "when will they send my ds-261 and am concerned I will cause permanent damage from he eyes rolling into the back of my head.
I lnow; we were once there, too. But 5 months at NVC with no CC makes for a grumpy savagechair

The email was sent in the future?
Usually the checklist emails go out 24h after the fact. It was probably accepted on the 25th making it about 34 business days from the scan date.
34 business days...
ah good grief. I forgot to change the date when I worked out the time (I'm in Malaysia, and we're ahead)
It came to me at 4:37am Malaysian time, which means it was 4:37pm August 26.
and the letter is dated in the PDF as August 26.
yep, 34 business days. I know. I KNOW. I still have my fingers crossed they don't lose a birth certificate! I'm looking at 60 days from August 11 for completion of IV document review
-
Congratulations. Do you know when it was accepted? When was the false checklist email sent?
False checklist email was sent 4:37pm (NVC time) August 27.
The date ON the letter says August 26, 2014.
I didn't ask him when my AOS was accepted, however, I did call NVC last Friday and there had been no updates at that time.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. No change to AOS fee yet. Haven't called since Friday USA time on day 60. I was told a supervisor wasn't available and my case "definitely" would be reviewed this week.
I tried calling Tuesday and gave up when I couldn't get through for 20 minutes. Last night I was too tired to call. I will wait until Friday USA time to call again, then I will be at 67 days and hopefully then someone will let me speak to a supervisor if I don't have a case complete by then.
My job has been a god-send. Amazing what keeping busy during the day can do to forget about it for awhile.
Sorry to hear your arm has been so painful!
I will keep everyone posted if anything changes with me, but for right now I am just numb about it all and have no emotion. I just feel like there is nothing I can do. I even sent off letters to a congressman and a senator last week by email. Haven't even gotten an automated reply. Ever feel like you are completely invisible? That is me in this process right now. As I see case completes with scan dates 2 weeks LATER than mine, I cringe. I am happy for everyone of course, but it is just another reminder of how my file has been screwed yet again.
This week was my 14-month immiversary (and also marked 12 years that I have been living in Australia.) I have loved Australia my second home and even became a dual-citizen, but now it's time for me to go home.
I just want to extend my empathy.
I feel the same as you.
It sounds like you are also in your spouse's country (as I am) but tired. Just freaking tired. I have an empty home in the US that's costing cash, and I miss America. This is hurting my business growth, health, and sanity.
My congressman's office told me it can take up to 30 days to get a response (!) from USCIS(!) and i politely pointed out the issue now is with nvc. They ignored me.
I, too, feel invisible. And life is completely 100% on hold. I was prepared to deal with a year for this pricess. Loom at you! My God, more than a year now. I am so very sorry your case is still incomplete.

I am not an LLc but am self employed.Did anybody get checklist for not providing prove of income for the current year? It says it's optional. what if you don't have paystubs or cant get a letter for your employer? lets say you own a company that its Limited liability. Technically you are an employee working for a company that you own,
I wrote a letter on letterhead attesting to my income.
I also provided 4 recent invoices.
I highlighted in my bank account the amounts that agree with the invoices to show ongoing income.
Now, I don't have AOS approval yet, but that's what I did. I also provided an accountant letter, and a cover letter to explain my income. I felt I'd rather fully cover myself with documentation of current income than roll the dice and not give them proof.

This was true for me.Sometimes it's due to the address having to be put in a certain way, and others who are abroad had issues obtaining them due to the foreign address.
The IRS online system differs in what it allows in addresses/how the input is, from the actual IRS records. Some of us have "odd" foreign addresses. Mine has a comma and slash in the street, for ex. And the placement of my postal code is odd, too. All this made it impossible for me to print transcripts online but I could still do the mail request.
-
I have the EXACT same dilemma, I got my transcript on Friday after requesting it on June 14. Have you decided yet what to do? I'm leaning towards sending it in, but scared
I've opted to not send it in based on another member who said he got AOS approval on full return (vs transcripts)
-
Thank you romii.Depends on when you sent it. If it's near the 60 day mark, then I would hold off but if it has been about 2-3 weeks and you have other documents which will need to be submitted after then sending it in won't hurt at all. I sent my 2013 return with w-2 and it was accepted, didn't need to send in a transcript.
I am a July 8 doc received date. Based on your experience I will hold off. Triple checked my AOS and it looks very complete, accurate. Thank you!
-
Any opinions on this would be very welcome
I submitted AOS with 2013 full return (self employed, including all schedules and 1099) because my transcript was not ready.
I have my transcript now. I am on the fence as to whether to send it in. My fear is this:
-if AOS gets approved without this being needed, it will "reset" my 60-day clock and AoS will be "un" approved.
The flipside is, if they ask for it in a checklist (note, I do not have a checklist yet), sending it early may prevent that.
I don't know. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

It will take 2-4Months from now to get the Police Report Certificate for Malaysia, Is this something that she can bring to the Interview, Because if she files it now, we might not getting till Dec. I'm expecting IV/DS260 by mid Sept.
Not sure if you were answered, but all I've read/heard is the certificates MUST be sent to NVC for review first.
I am in Malaysia, and the certificate took far less time than anticipated. That may differ for applicants out of the country. Ours was ready about 3 weeks after submitting a request online.

Thank you! I always call them in the morning(8pm in Tokyo = their 6am) but nobody helps us..
But I will call them again and again. Thank you!
They open at their 7am, so try an hour later

IV invoice paid and IV package shipped today! I'll update my timeline and signature when I get home. Interestingly, my IV cover sheet told me to post it to CMR instead of DR, so I did. I thought CMR was for the AOS docs
I also had CMR on my IV
-
I just sent in my AOS checklist packet and the address on the barcode sheet was Attn: DR. If your barcode said CMR then that's where it needs to go.
Thank you for taking the time to reassure me

VERY good point. I'm glad I followed her wiki so far.No problem. Go by what it says on Saylin's Wiki as it's 100% accurate.. Don't let others freak you out when someone they tell you something different
. It's not good for this process, and it will save you from pulling your hair out!
.
You are a kind soul and a morale booster. ❤️
Thanks all for your support, I now have my case closed! Great way to end your day! Awesome!
*dances*
I will be looking out for you all, good luck with your applications.
Congratulations, relief, and best wishes all in one big crockpot!
