  1. WOW,  It has been a process.  Our ROC was not approved when we submitted the N-400.  Our naturalization interview was scheduled for today.

The officer asked for both of us to join him for the interview.  We both we present for the ROC application interview. After review and questions, we were told the ROC was approved.  Then I left while they proceeded with the N-400 interview.  After 40 minutes that interview ended and we are approved! Now to wait for the oath ceremony notice.  What a wild journey it has been.

  2. We are in the same boat regarding the transfer of our ROC case to another office. We have our N-400 in play also.

    Timeline of both cases:

March 13, 2017 Started the ROC Process

    March 16, 2018 Sent N-400

    April 17th Biometrics for N-400

April 20th info pass to local office for the I-551 stamp.  We were way to early and need to return 2 weeks prior to the extension letter expiring. IO indicated that our N-400 might be approved before the ROC. Checked on our case and provided an update.

May 3rd Received the email that our case was ROC case transferred to  another office

May 7th Received N-400 update - We scheduled an interview for your Form N-400

Now waiting for both letters to arrive.  Any guesses on when we will have the interview?

  3. Success! Got an email back from the onbudsman... "Upon reviewing your case again, it appears that USCIS recently issued a decision regarding your I-485 application."

    Hey Zcomuto....

That is was we were told by the ombudsman before the request for marriage certificate arrived on June 1st

" The Ombudsman’s Office has determined that USCIS has issued a notice of action regarding the application or petition referenced in your inquiry.

Please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 if you do not receive correspondence within 10 days. Because USCIS has taken action, our office will be closing this matter.

Thank you for giving the Ombudsman’s Office the opportunity to assist you.

    Sincerely,"

I hope your approval happens quickly!

  4. Hey PCV, we received same RFE 5/28, they signed for it on June 2nd after overnight delivery to Fairfax VA office (we're all the way in Texas) Very frustrating to know we included the marriage cert in our original packet! Online status has never been updated since "fingerprint...." We received our waiver letter 12/31. Hope we hear something soon!!!!!

Same thing here. The field office received the information they requested on June 2nd via Fedex. The only thing I have is the notification of delivery from Fedex.

Our notice was a "Continuance Letter" from the field office. They asked for our marriage certificate. (even though it was included in the original AOS documents).

I sure you are ready to be done with this process also.

I hope you guys hear something soon!

    Sweetie Baby....

I am so ready for this part of our journey to be over with.

Quick question??? Did you get an official RFE or just a letter from the field office and instructed to send it back to them?

    Best of LUCK!

  5. Still no word from my RFE... no status update or anything to even suggest I had one. They've had it a week and a day now. Too soon to worry?

  6. I've heard conflicting reports regarding where they are processed. Some attorney websites state that they are processed at both the field offices and main service centers. However, I have spoken to both a customer service representative at the USCIS and also an immigration officer and they said that family based AOS is processed through local field offices. Moreover, if you have an interview waiver, then they aren't necessarily processed at your local field office.

My status states that it's still at the national benefits center (where i-485's are not processed, but where the receipts are routed through, apparently), however, on speaking to an immigration officer, he said that my case is actually at a local field office in CA (which is a long way from Milwaukee). I'm not sure whether the officer told me erroneous information, but it's plausible that your online status hasn't been updated.

Have you set up an infopass appointment?

    Hope that helps....

My take is that the NBC is a holding center for those of us that received the Interview Waiver Letters. When they think it is appropriate, they then ship the cases for review to any field office that can handle the work load. Our case is in CA, even though the Indy field office is processing I-485 cases from September.

  7. Interesting day....we have movement with our case.

Got a response from the ombudsman's office:

The Ombudsman’s Office has determined that USCIS has issued a notice of action regarding the application or petition referenced in your inquiry.

Please contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 if you do not receive correspondence within 10 days. Because USCIS has taken action, our office will be closing this matter.

But we also got a continuance letter dated May 27th from the field office in Sacramento that is handling our case now:

Stating that they need our certified marriage certificate because it was not included in our file. (the marriage certificate was sent with the I-485)

No, change on the USCIS website.......interesting

Thank goodness we ordered extra marriage certificates when we got married. Easy fix and now the request document will be delivered tomorrow by 10:30.

  8. Yes, it happened to me. The same error over and over again. Lasted for week. Eventually, I called them by phone and made the e-request over the phone and she took all the information from me and said I have to wait 30 days for a reply. She give me a long number (for this request) I believe it is useless number, unless I want to call again and follow up this e-request. Hopefully something will happen soon. I have been waiting about 3 days since I made that request. Nothing so far.

    Good luck.

The same thing was happening to me when I filed a Service Request online. I also called and a T1 rep did a Service Request. It just showed up yesterday under "Next Steps" when I log into the USCIS as "currently not assigned for processing". The interesting thing is that the SR ends in DLS, which is Dallas. As far as I know our file is in Sacramento, CA with our local field office being Indianapolis. No idea why the SR would end in DLS.

  9. In some parts of the country, you can call 2-1-1. It is like 9-1-1, but for social services. If it is available where you live, they can locate agencies that can help you. In my area. 2-1-1 can help find agencies that provide shelters from abusive partners, low cost legal advice, immigration centers, and much more.

Not sure if it will work where you live, but worth a try.

    Best of Luck!!!

  10. Maybe some good news about our application. Just received an e-mail for our Congressman's office, they completed their 60 day update with USCIS. Our case is on the move and ended up in the Sacramento, CA field office for review.

    At least it is something.....

In less than 2 weeks we will hit our 1 year anniversary of this AOS process. Good Times!!!

So, within 30-60 days we might have the green card or a RFE for medical.....

Anyone with experience at the Sacramento office?

  11. finally got on here after a busy week at work, on Friday i got the text and email saying my welcome letter has been posted and my GC is in production :) after waiting this long I really dont care if its a 2 or 10 year as I can not really make this place feel like home :)

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

    Receipt Number: MSC#######144

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

    Your Case Status: Decision

If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    CONGRATS.....

You have been waiting a long time for this day!

  12. UGH....a bit disappointed with the results of talking with an arrogant Tier 2 rep. This was the first time to call and I did find out our case was at the NBC.

Then was lectured about there is no timeline for AOS and how he was a seasoned agent. The government did provide an EAD/AP card that can be renewed as many times as needed while the application is reviewed. Almost saying....what else could you want!

I asked if we were out of normal processing time since our local office is processing Sept 24, 2014 applications and our NOA was June 9, 2014. I was told not to look at the local office timelines.

He went on to explain that after the case is processed with the extensive background checks they do, that is when they contact the local office to schedule an interview. When I asked, "but will we still have an interview since we received a NPIW?" The phone went dead, either a bad connection or I was hung up on.

The good news of the day was we were able to do walk-in biometrics appointment at the local USCIS for the AED/AP renewal.

    Good Times!!!

  13. UGH, the wait continues.........Some days are ok and some days this process just seems never ending. Next month we will surpass the year mark.

I can't imagine the frustration of those that have waited over a year.

Just had the 30 day update from our Congressman's office. "The I-485 application is still at the NBC and they stated that our case is still on-track to be reviewed shortly. It will be reviewed at a field office which may or may not be Indianapolis depending on the workload, but the decision will ultimately come from NBC."

I did find out when our biometrics appointment is scheduled and I was also told they can't push back much until after the application hits1 year.

I guess we just have to wait for another 30 days for an update.
