  1. Hello Everyone,

    first i bless GOD for how far this journey has taking us and thank you all for the advise and encouragement.

    Hubby attended second interview on 5/24/16. At the consular's he reports it to be no question or just one question asked and was given a pile load of docs and lady said pick your visa at a location.

    GOD is wonderful......it beats me.

    For all still on this journey, dont worry keep your game tight be confident and let your higher power point out the way to go.

    thanks everyone. one love.

  3. Good evening everyone, our case was reapproved sept 29th,2015. It was received at NVC since 4th November,2015 and was put on administrative processing since then. Please advise on what we could do or we just wait till the AP is completed. This process has been a long journey for me and my wife but we sure know it will be resolved one day and it will all be history. I called every week to see if we out of AP but is the same story that we should wait till the complete the process. Your advise will be appreciated. Thanks

    hello All,

    Our case has just been re affirmed after a year.@Oyedun and @Ebunoluwa i guess the waiting game continues. My hope is that i will have my hubby at last with me again.

    thanks

  4. You say again were you in security checks at USCIS with your petition at beginning? Weird I just posted for a friend stuck at VSC for last 18 months in security checks. Really sorry what you are going through. What are your jobs his and yours?

    Thanks dwheels76,

    my hubby is into financial advise in Nigeria and studied here in US. i work in hospital administration. He doesnt have any background in military or in govt. finances. I dont know why this came up.

    I hope it goes away soon...really soon.

  5. Hello everyone,

    my hubby was denied visa last November, case was returned to USCIS via NVC. Uscis got it in February and now on inquiry they sent me this;

    We have placed your petition on a processing hold because the required security checks remain pending. This is a standard process on all petitions returned to USCIS from the consulate. Until we receive the results of these security checks, we cannot move forward on your returned petition. We require the results of security checks before we make a decision on any consular returned petitions.

    We cannot predict when we will receive the results of these security checks. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision in your case as soon as the security checks are complete.

    I have gone past crying and hurting i'm just dry eyed but really wailing inside.

    From the forum i know its now a waiting game.......anyone been through this before and want to share his/her experience?

    Please :crying: :cry: :angry:

  6. Each I-130 is seen as a stand alone case. You would be basing the child's case on marriage to the father. I know the link below is not the same issue as your case, but it may offer you some insight/hope. I would show the link to an attorney and see if there are any related cases. I also second what Dwheels said. :)

    This thread should also be helpful to you:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/363683-stand-alone-i-130-for-stepchildren/

    thank u so much that was quite helpful. Not the same though but it sure gives us comfort and hope. Thanks Ochii.

  7. You can but it would be a very hard process without the parent being there or you not have lived with them. But the process is the same. You have to file for them Each child has their own I-130 you need their Birth certificate also and also custody papers from the parent now parents (both) giving you authority to immigrate to US to be with you. If husband was with you it would only have been the mother you would have needed documents for. But now you need fathers also.

    USCIS is asking for these papers upfront. I would seek a lawyer for this.

    Thanks Dwheels. having his daughter with me will really comfort me in this hard and lonely times. I will have a word with my hubby and i will ask a lawyer too as u advised.

    It gives me hope that having them over will comfort and strenghten us in this time

  8. Hello Everyone,

    firstly i thank all that took the time to comment on our case. let me first apologise for my not been here this past week, it wasnt intentional. i have been in and out of the clinic, so i stayed away from this forum to rest and get better.

    I have a history of mycardial infract thrombocytopenia and ventricular tachycardial. ( heart condition under monitoring) in 2014 my12 year old kidney transplant failed and i have been on dialysis 3 times a week. this makes it very difficult for me to do lots of stuff by myself.

    RECAP OF JOURNEY

    i met my hubby while he was studying in the US, we were both separated and while my divorce was finalised in 2011 we got married in Nigeria in 2012 December. i filed for him as a PR and became a USC in June 2014 had case updated and case completed in August 2014, His interview wason 11/12/14 and he was denied.

    The CO made his decision around the following issues

    1. i had not visited since we got married ( by now you all know why)

    2. Not sure if he met my family. ( Hubby was practically in our place 3 times a week) well know by all my family)

    3. Why did ex requested for visa to US on his status as a student when purpotedly separated.( Ostensibly trying to please her)

    Anyway, thats the all that happened.

    i love my hubby and he is a humble, loving and God fearing man. well loved by my family, in church, and in communities even where he volunteer as a mentor. My family took an interest in him and investigated him using contacts in the Nigerian community not even known to him.My mom is well known in the west African community in my city. All the hooplas from the CO and Lagos just made me sick the more. I need him here more now that i cant really do things for myself much.we are both in our 40s.

    There you have it. any advise on what to do is welcome. Dwheel already stated its a waiting game and i know so but i just wish this will go away and he is back here.

    Once again, i am so sorry i did not respond please do forgive me i know you care.

    BLESS Y'ALL

  9. I'm confused about the ex-wife. She was in Nigeria or US applying for a visitor Visa? You say he has meet your family so your husband has come to US on B1/B2 Visa?

    Do you have a big age gap?

    I do see alot of red flags. Is there a 3rd country you can meet at for a visit. If your petition gets reaffirm you really need to be able to show you have visited each other. There's 90 countries Nigerians don;t need a Visa to. Places where you don't need a shot.

    You can involve your Senator and congressman but its really nothing they can do to expedite or hurry things. It's a waiting game now. But I know from previous denials that came back to USCIS they are a bit faster now. So maybe in about 4 to 5 months it should be back and you might get a letter saying what their decision. is.

    Really sorry for your delay.

    Hello Dwheels,

    firstly let me thank you for your attention on my case.

    As per confused dont be. I met my hubby while he was a student in the US and while we were dating and he was separated from his ex wife, his ex wife went to the embassy and tried to get a visitor visa to come to the US, He was in Nigeria when it happened. As per age difference i'm 4 years older. My mother in law not been at the civil ceremony is bull #######. we both got married the second time and dont need anyone's consent to do that culture or not. Why do they make people go with docs they never get to check and then faults one when in fact the info are right there and they spend 5-10mins throwing down ones future.Anyway these are my questions

    1. do i get a lawyer now or just wait till USCIS gets in touch.

    2. What are my chances with USCIS, PLS BE FRANK.

    3. If we get affirmed again would been in Lagos with my hubby for the interview makes a Huge difference.

    4. Right now what should we be focusing on?

    Thanks Dwheel. i need to go do Dialysis. i do this 3 times a week. Going to any of those 90 countries means i have to prepare for Dialysis. As per shots and all that, i have had a heart transplant and equally diabetic and hypertensive. I'M WALKING BY GOD'S GRACE HENCE MY NOT VISITING SINCE 2012. Thats my life. My hubby by now u see I NEED HIM SO BAD.

    Looking forward to your responses.

    Thanks again

  10. I'm really sorry to hear this dear. I truly hope that if you try again things will work out the second time.

    My heart sinks whenever i read a denial post.

    ~~~~Prayers for all who are going through a rough time.~~~~
    ~ Sofi
    Bless you Sofi,
    my heart bleeds too. thank you so much. May your journey be smooth and free of hitches. I just got to hold on and see this to the end. First i need to get my health up and risk Lagos again against doctors order.
    I need to see the consular myself if that what it takes to get my hubby back i just miss my husband.
    thanks again.
  11. Hello Everyone,
    my hubby went for his IR visa interview today and was denied. Yep denied. He pretty much told me everything that happened.
    He arrived on time but somehow got in last...Funny isnt it. the pre interview was smooth too. The interview was the problem spot. He said he answered all the questions relating to me perfectly and CO asked to see pics which he gave to him, then the tide changed when he asked him about our previous marriages. particularly his ex wife living in the country and who had applied for a visiting visa to visit him while in the US as at the time we were dating. She was denied anyway. He answered in the best way he could but the CO pestered him more and asked if i met his mom when i came to Nigeria of course i didnt..DING!!! another big one and then he asked him if he had met mine and he answered yes. He also reported that he was asked why i have not visited since 2012 when we got married. He informed him of my health status and that i had to put an insurance on my flight to return in case of any emergency because my doctors said i shouldnt travel cos i cant take any shot my body couldnt handle it plus my medication ( I HAD A HEART TRANSPLANT IN 1989 AND A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT TOO) since 2013 my health hasnt been good my kidney is down and i do dialysis 3 times a week.
    Anyways it was denied and on its way back to NVC the white sheet states but my co worker said its USCIS.
    There you have it. truth is i am aware of all the red flags and we genuinely love each other, he has been a great guy an open book to read and our families are so really intergrated.
    I have fought many battles some with him and did came out a better person. One good thing that drives us on is Christ. WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM.
    Feel free to help us out....we really need your guide, got any info on what to do next or what to expect pls shoot we can take it.
    thanks everyone.
  12. Hello Guys, my hubby got his citizenship and mailed the copy of his naturalization certifcate and copy of our NOA2 to NVC last august 21. NVC confirmed they have received our request letter. Yesterday my husband called them to ask if they already upgraded my petition from f2a to cr1/ir1. They told us to wait atleast 30 business day and atleast 10 days to upgrade it. I dont understand why we have to wait within 30days. Is it standard answer that they can give to us whatever we are asking to them. I hope you could share your experience on this. Thank you! Dg
    Hi Mrs.B,
    I had the same experience and i was told to wait same 30 bizness day. while waiting the NVC change the wait time in August to 60 days for any documentation processing with their offfice. They notified me of this change and i got case complete in 55days and that same week i got an email saying my upgrade has been effected. As a matter of fact when i called to get case complete i was told my case has been upgraded and treated as an IR not a F2A.
    Hang in there, its a standard response just a little more time.
    KEEP THE FAITH.
    Bless you.
  13. Hello there brother , Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    , I just wanna ask something do we need to wait 60 days or 60 business days from when NVC receive , nvc received our file in 60 June , so when i'm supposed to hear from them , Thanks in Advance
    hello there,
    At first i thought it was 60 days then i read different views from people on VJ that called NVC and were told 60 bizness days, so i kept my faith for 60bizness days but to my suprise it came even less than the 60 days. MY TAKE SHOOT FOR 60 BIZNESS DAYS, anything earlier is a big bonus.
    best of luck on your journey.
