  1. Hello guys,

I need help and advice. I came to the US in 2014, we got married with my husband and I received my first Green Card for 2 years, before it expired we applied for my second Green Card, I had my fingerprints done and then we were told to wait for a letter invitation for our interview but meanwhile my husband passed away. Needless to say how hard everything is emotionally because when everything happened I had a 2 yo and was 30 weeks pregnant. Our second daughter was born a week ago and I am still in the process of taking care of all the paperwork and I called the USCIS told them what happened and they said I need to write an explanation letter about what happened plus my husband's death certificate.

I would like to know if anybody went through anything like that. Are there any examples of the explanation letter or just write what happened and it will be enough? I am so confused and need help and advice.

Thank you very much in advance!

  2. Hey guys just wanted to make sure my wife will be able to travel with my daughter from Philadelphia to Seattle in a few weeks. We sent our package over on October 18th and had our biometrics appointment successfully completed on November 21st. She only has her green card which shows expiration date as 10/23/2017 but we also have a letter from uscis stating that she can travel for one more year. So we need to bring that to the airport when we show her green card? She only has her Ukrainian passport and green card with the photo.

  3. After my fiancee arrived to the States on a K-1 we got married about a month after and found out that it costs around 1070 for I-485 and currently trying to get an SSN card, wealso found out our i-94 expired. After browsing the forums there seems to be conflicting information. Some people mention that one can just apply for EAD to get SSN, others say to apply for AOS after i-94 expired. What would be the best option ?

  4. It doesn't matter if a million people sign it. It's not gonna happen with the current situation in Ukraine. They have to fix their mess, bring up their economy (a lot), etc for the US to even begin to consider making it one of the visa waiver countries.

Yeah you are prob right just doesn't hurt to try though

  5. Here is my review of POE at JFK.

Arrived the 2nd of march 2014. After getting off the plane went straight to the border control. There were two lines (one for citizents, another for visitors). Logically, visitors line was the longest, as far as all people who arrive and are not citizens go to that line. There was one woman who was asking if someone has short layover at JFK, so I assume those who are short in time are checked faster than others.

When standing in the line there was a man appointing the "windows" to pass border control, so people were moving quite fast.

When I reached the "window" I handed my package with all docs from the embassy to him, he asked me "what is that?" i said "I am on K-1 it´s my paperwork i am supposed to hand at the border". He opened envelope, checked all docs, scanned my finger prints, wrote something in his PC and asked me to follow him to another office.

He brought me to the office with other officers and gaved them my papers. One officer again wrote something in his PC and told me that i may go.

Overview: not taking into concideration that JFK is big and full of passengers, all was quite wast and smooth.

Good luck to guys who will enter JFK!

Wow you helped me out so much in the process and now this is awesome to see your review on this my fiancee was approved 2 days ago and will be going through JFK on the 2ND OF April this was great help because she was nervous
