  1. I am filing I-485 form so for that i also need I-864 form filled out by my sponsor. The problem is that he is in india right now.he can send me a signed I-864 form only through email or fax because post mail takes about a month to reach here when its some official documents. I can't wait that long so please guide me if USCIS approves a faxed copy of I-864 .

my husband sent our recent tax forms (he had to sign them) via Blue Dart and it went from Bangalore to Ohio in 4 days and was fully trackable.

Your sponsor should be able to print, sign and send and you will have it in less than a week.

  2. is there a reason why they saying i got transfered to lee summit?

when i called they told me so much WRONG info....first they told me i was transferred to lee summit then they said i was transferred to local cleveland office then they said they couldn't tell me since the transfer info wasn't in the computer system......

finally the paper copy confirmed i was sent to CSC....just ignore their misinformation!

  3. Congratulations on all transfers and approvals! This is awesome news and we all want this news for us asap! smile.png

I start worrying that it has been 18 days since my transfer and there is nothing new... People get approved who have been transferred later than I was (2/3) and whose PD is later than mine (8/12)... Why is that?

Is it possible that these early bird cases are very straightforward? No prior marriages and no kids? Can some approved folks voice their opinion please?

my case was not simple/straightforward......been divorced, 2 kids, i am 7 years older than hubby but we were transferred and approved quickly! I seriously think that USCIS has absolutely no ryme or reason to their methods of madness!

  4. It has crossed out minds, but my 15 year old son does not want to move to India. He loves my fiance like a dad but he does not want to give up his life here and I understand that. My fiance and I are going to at least try for my sons sake.

Ooh I totally get that....I thought he might be younger where a move wouldn't be a huge adjustment. At that age it would be a big deal and if he is not willing its not worth it I think! Although I will say there are amazing schools and facilities available if you can take the time to find them (and pay for them since they aren't cheap) so if he does come around to the idea you can make it a smooth/easy transition for him.

you really are in a tough spot...i feel for you its not easy! I think if you are still worried, you could go to india, get married and have you added to his accounts/bills all in the matter of about 10-14 days if necessary. Then you would have further documentation to submit with the i130.

I will keep thinking about this and if I come up with any other ideas/thoughts I will let you know! best of luck!

  5. ah right, thanks! that thread was intimidating for ages, too much info- but eventually read the first 2 posts before diving in.

Maybe we should put a new column on our august google doc to chart that black hole?

I like the idea of adding another column to our sheet so we can see the time from NOA2 to NVC received. Then once NVC received we know we will go on that sheet for further tracking

  6. on the speadsheet- the column labeled NOA2- is that be interpreted when the hard copy of the transfer is recieved telling them which USCIS office the file was transferred to.. OR

is it when USCIS has approved the application and transferred it to the NVC for processing--

I think some clarifications are needed becasue many people are saying they got NOA@ 8 and 10 days after transfer- IF that is NOA@ moving it to the NVC that is really something- but I suspect that is not the case and would like somone to elaborate on what that NOA2 SHOULD be.

My understanding is that NOA2 is notice of approval so the actual date that the service center approves the i130.

so like in my case I was transferred and got 3 emails about transfers but my NOA2 is Feb 12 the date that my USCIS status says "post decision activity"

On February 12, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

  7. There is only a 5 year age gap....me being the older. We met online livemocha.com about 3 years ago. He has to go though Mumbai Consulate. I been to India twice last year. One visit just a month from when the interview was set. They denied the K-1 for the CO was not convinced of relationship. My fiance said he got uneasy at the interview when they asked alot of questions about my ex-husband. Unfortunately we both know that me being divorced with kids are most likely red flags. His dad is very unhappy with me becoming a daughter in law, along with alot of friends which he has lost due to this relationship. So its pretty sad that he will have hardly no family members coming to our wedding. His mom and siblings want to be there but they wont come due to dads feelings. If we are denied again, we both discuss that my younger son and I will move to India.

If you are able to move to India, why not do it now before getting denied? If you move and get married in India ASAP then you can be added to all his bank accounts, rental agreements, health/life insurance even his mobile bill etc as his wife. This will only help your case as it shows that he has taken steps to mingle finances etc with his wife. I think that in the long run it should help alot because if his family is against you but he has taken the measures to add you to his accounts then it shows a strong relationship even in the absence of family support.

Just something to think about if you have the option/ability.

  8. its so true..that's why I have backed off..besides when I was in the hospital and bored out of my mind. Hoping for an approval today! Hey Eastyo....I know they've been doing transfers at night...but are approval notifications at night or during the day?? I cant remember.

Good luck today everyone. hopefully they work their buns off today since they need to catch up between the holiday and all this STUPID SNOW! im sooooo sick of seeing this white #######!

my approval email came at 11pm eastern time.

  9. Thanks. When i asked the NVC rep about Mumbai being the location for interview than New Delhi, she told me that the location of the interview is based on distance from Applicant's home address. So in our case wife lives in chennai and mumbai is closer than Newdelhi. It made sense. Same logic does not apply to your case so i have no idea why it is NewDelhi for your wife.

Wife got her PCC from the passport office for NVC in October 2013. Even though the I/L did not say to get a new PCC(from the passport office) for her interview on Feb 2014, i asked her to get another one so that she has a latest copy for her interview(Just in case). She did get one around Jan 15th and apparently no docs(PCC, Evidence) were asked during her VISA interview.

We are in Bangalore and are expecting to have to go to Mumbai for interview, does this mean that maybe we might go to Delhi?

Will I be allowed in with my hubby when he goes for interview? I heard Mumbai its not allowed?

  10. YAY for more approvals and emails/text messages! Great news that August is moving along!

I also got 3 emails when my case was being transferred. then like a week later I got the NOA2 (online, still waiting for the hard copy).

Those of us who have gotten approvals, any idea how long its going to take to transfer to NVC? I was reading and it looks like a month to transfer then possibly a few more weeks to get a case number?

  11. I just wanted to say I am so excited and happy for everyone! I know that seeing those ahead of me get transferred and approved really helped keep my spirits up! I hope my approval helps keep the spirits up for others too!

Now how do we stay together as a group since we are such a lovely team as we move on to the NVC stage?! I don't want to lose any of the wonderful support that we have had in our August thread!

  12. Hey everyone - I'm getting a little ahead of myself here, but hey who isn't?! What's the current time frame that NVC is working now? From reading the guides and posts, it appears that the NVC stage is another 2-3 month wait, is that still the case?

    Thanks!

good question, i was under the impression that 2-3 months is typical but i haven't looked to see what is the case right now??

yay maybe August is a lucky month we seem to be moving quickly with transfers and approvals!

  13. Eh.

This might be a tricky one. If his mother's an attorney (sorry.. advocate biggrin.png ) an affidavit from her with the new name + Pan Card + Aadhar + his grade 10 report card should be enough to get a new birth certificate.

If I were him, I would get the ball rolling and get that "RBD certificate"

You are going to be approved literally any day now.

Ignore what the NVC or the i-130 instructions say - the US Embassy in Mumbai will not accept any other secondary proof now that the Indian government has made it extremely convenient to get it done.

Also make sure the name of this "new" birth certificate matches the name on his passport.

I am going through some fresh hell bc this.

Oh and.. im in pune right now biggrin.png

    yay

hmm I'm telling Abhi this now on phone so his mom is going to look into the RBD, his mother is not an attorney its his mama (mom's brother)

I also just told him if he is getting a new BC issued to have it match his passport name so there will not be any confusion

where in pune? I worked in viman nagar and lived in kalyani nagar! I soooooo LOVED pune! we even went back and got married there since Bangalore was just never "home" to us like pune felt like home!

  14. omgggggggggggggggg.......I had not checked my status since yesterday and this is first chance I had today to get on VJ. I read your post and immediately checked mine and I got APPROVED TOO.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO........approval one day after receiving my hard copy of my transfer to CSC. I can't believe this. omg!!!!!

    AWESOME!

I am so so jealous both you and aditya got approvals and we were transferred the same.....fingers crossed that means mine is coming soon!!

  15. You need to get a birth certificate from the Registrar of Birth and Deaths (RBD).

Recently there has been a push to get everybody in India, even those with no known birth records, a bilingual universal birth certificate.

My original in Hindi was a ratched little piece of paper that got lost in the mail and they issued me a brand new one for no fee, ridiculously fast.

It is super easy to get a new one.

Thanks! It sounds like this won't be too hard then! The only other problem is that his original BC also had a different name (his dad named him Raju and that is the only name that was on his original BC just Raju with no surname or anything) but then when he started school he changed his name and has been going by Abhijeet since school (all school records, Pan car, passport etc are in new name) so this might also cause some issues I think?

  16. Im going to Bhopal for my police certificate.

Your spouse is from MP as well ?

    Small world eh ?

haha very small world! Abhi was born and brought up in Bhopal but he is a marwadi. He went to St Joseph's in Bhopal!

But for university went to Pune and lived there for many years (that's where we met and lived for 2 years) and then we both moved and lived in Bangalore for the past 3 years until we finally got married and I moved back to US to start setting up our life over here!
