OK guys listen and listen good..... My fiance arrived to Miami Florida last year. We got marriage in the following two months and few days after that we applied for the SS card ... guess what!!!
quote "The social security card depend of Home Land Security approval of her adjustment of Status ", we received a letter states that we do not need interview and we have to wait another 6 moth to received the Residence. Therefore The SS card will arrived after Home Land Security approved the Residence Card ...
I called the SS offices and they reply that nothing they can do only wait. Now if you have in mind claim your wife as a dependent she have to live with you more that 6 months.....
Immigration and Naturalization have their hand full ...... This is a time consuming process ... good luck to all ... My wife have not SS card yet.....

Definitively something is not right; I know you know, I visited Colombia 5 times and every times they hold me at the airport , because my name is similar to somebody else that was deported due to a crime from Colombia to USA. The Immigrations department check every person and could be that the name of your Fiance is so commons that they need a next step in he investigations, this is one of the possibilities of so many that can affect you visa K-1
I have my Fiance in USA already and only took me 189 days to the interview in Bogota. like I say Definitively something is not right .....
You can't do nothing about it just write letters asking for answers. I am really sorry for you delay but at the end they have to give you some answers because you have a case number and you are in the system. need to be patient regardless what will be the outcome. be positive and be proactive.... 2014 just start... good luck

I sent to my fiance the I 134 with the enough support as electronics checks copies and my latest Taxes filed 2012 I filed single and no dependents.... my fiance pass with flying colors..you do not have to present the bank letter just taxes, a letter from the employer states that you are not temporally worker and few copies of your checks...if you work for you own then you have to present the bank letter .... You have to convince the Consul that you have no money issues .... that is all............................50,000 thousand a year is pretty good do do the trick
-
What you made is over of what they have as minimum ... However the problem is your taxes dependents.
It is not totally your salary to qualify or you bank statement account of 1 year .... is how many dependents do you claimed last year ....if you filed single without dependents you are ok ... but if you make 50,000 a year and you have child support or alimony or other shitttt you will be tight to pass...
-
NO ....YOU ONLY NEED TO PRESENT THE LAST TAXES ... MY FIANCE WENT THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS AND I GAVE HER MY LAST TAXES THAT IS ALL .. IN SPITE OF THE DISTANCE TRY TO KEEP THE FLAME BETWEEN ON AT ALL TIME ..

Congratulations for the NOA 2 the approval indications in the NOA 2 is BULL and is only for a period of time (read small letters) the final say is at the Bogota embassy in front of the CONSUL; After the interview the Consul sign the Document and the Visa is Granted.
In this web-site you will find help in your questions; you weak point is the affidavit support, but you have time to fix it up.... good luck !!!
-
The answer is pretty simple the Consul need both, but not only the form the consul want to see the checks and the last taxes
regardless you do not make the enough money for your claim; at the end all this documents will be returned to the beneficiary
as soon they make the decision.. in my case the embassy in Bogota sent together with the passport with the visa the followed documents
I gave to her to be presented.
1- Letter from my job stated that I am not temporally
2- 5 electronic checks copy
3- The affidavit support form
4- My last taxes 2012 ( they are checking in my pass taxes how many people I claimed)
good luck in your case ...

Hello everyone,
Please if someone can clarify me this. On November 7, 2013 we received form I-797, Notice of Action notifying us: "the above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate." Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, or if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate."
Then on December 05, 2013 we received the following notification:
"On December 5, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."
I called the 603-334-0700 phone number and they said I need to wait 8 weeks from the date I received the notification to appear on the system. But I am confused. Where exactly is the approved petition at the Consulate or at the Department of State????
Thanks for your help...

NewsSep 14, 2013Avianca cancels 160 flights due to pilots ‘strike’posted by Charlie de Rivaz
Colombia’s largest airline Avianca has cancelled 160 flights, scheduled to leave between Friday and Wednesday, because of their pilots’ “strike”.
The airline’s pilots are refusing to work overtime in an an action called “operacion cero trabajo suplementario” (“operation no overtime”), after Avianca’s alleged intransigence over salary increases.
MORE: Pilots of Colombia’s largest airline start ‘operation no overtime’ after pay dispute
“The airline has adjusted its itnieraries for the days between Friday 13 and Wednesday September 18,” Avianca announced. “We have cancelled an aniticpated 160 flights corresponding to 3% of the weekly operation of the company.”
To mitigate the effects of the protest Avianca announced that they have made their flight schedule more flexible, increasing time between flights, they will be allowing customers to fly with other airlines when their flights has been cancelled, as well as removing the charge on changing or cancelling flights for affected customers.
This last measure only applies for those flights operated by Avianca itself, and not for other companies in the airline’s group like Taca, Aerogal and Tampa Cargo, whose pilots are not taking part in the protest.
“Our most basic objective is to keep everything running as best we can while we look for a resolution to the current problems between the administration and the pilots,” Avianca said on Thursday.
The airline’s pilots are expected to meet next Tuesday with government officials, including Vice President Angelino Garzon, as well as with Avianca’s owner Germán Efromovich.
Eframovich has been accused by the pilots union Acdac of going back on his word. The pilots say that in 2003, after Eframovich bought the company, they agreed to work longer hours (90 per month, instead of 75) to move the airline forward, with the benefits coming later. But Acdac say they are still waiting for those long-promised benefits.
Key to their demands is a salary increase that they say will put them in the same pay bracket as pilots at other major airlines.
“It’s not possible that a pilot with 18 years of experience from Aerolineas Argentinas, LAN and Avianca Peru earns $10,000 per month, one from Aeromexico $16,000, while in Colombia the Avianca pilots earn half that,” said Acdac’s president, Jaime Hernandez.
As a result of the delays some passengers in the Caribbean city of Cartagena had to wait 6 hours on Friday to fly to Bogota, acoording to newspaper El Espectador.
Colombia’s Ministry of Work has asked Avianca’s pilots to “return to working normally.” -
Ok guys I went to purchased the ticket and in this time I considered American Airline ; the cheapest one in December
and take a look almost no seat to fly after the 20 of December to USA.
I do not recommend AVIANCA The Air Line is under some problems with the Pilot's Union and Management; until it do not settle
do not use AVIANCA ..

Visa requirements for Colombian citizens

A Colombian passport
Visa requirements for Colombian citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Colombia. In 2014, Colombian citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 66 countries and territories, ranking the Colombian passport 64th in the world according to the Visa Restrictions Index.
Citizens of Colombia do not need a passport when traveling to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. For these countries, they may use just their domestic identification cards called Cédula de Ciudadanía.[1]
