  1. I applied for a credit card through capital one and was declined a credit card. I've only had my SSN and been a resident for 4 months.

Today I got a letter from Capital One saying the reason I was declined is because Trans Union, Experian, and Equifax all reported me as deceased.

Has this happened to anyone else?

  2. Im so sorry, I meant driving them over with all my other belongings. Im moving within the next couple days, visa in hand.

Would I be able to drive them through? Last thing I want is to be questioned about the products and have them tested/ emptied out.

I'd rather give them away than to have a hassle and potentially lose the product.

  3. What is your status on CEAC? Is it 'Issued'?

The waybill number will only be generated once Loomis is in possession of your passport.

It normally takes 1- 5 business days after interview for the visa to be issued and the passport to be ready for pickup by Loomis, with exceptions such as AP.

It says "issued" and I will receive it in 5 working days.

Here's my timeline off the top of my head.

    Oct 23rd Interview

*Not approved, needed extra medical documents due to DUI 3 years ago. Placed in AP.

    Jan 13, mailed documents

    Jan14, Consulate receives documents

Feb 3rd, Consulate reviews documents (still in AP).

March 3rd, case status changed to "ready" (says please schedule interview)

March 10th case updated, still says "ready"

March 11th case updated to "issued" (says case is undergoing necessary AP, can take several weeks)

March 12th case upated to "Issed" (will receive visa in 5 working days with link to check my waybill number).

Today, March 13th status same as yesterday.

So pretty much what you're saying is that once I have my waybill number, my passport is pretty much ready to be picked up?

  4. Well first off. Thank you for visa journey and all the amazing people posting in this section.. I really couldn't have done it without you guys and I saved a ton of money by not hiring a lawyer.

Yesterday I was finally given the approved status with the narrative saying I should have my visa in 5 working days with a link on how to view my waybill number.

When following the instructions and logging in to see my Loomis details, I do not see my waybill number.. From the example shown in the link my waybill number is not there or missing. I can only see my reference #.

I'm not really in a panicky mood but just curious as to when everyone got their waybill number and received the visa.

I can't seem to contact my Loomis branch as they don't have a posted phone number.. The people on the 1-800 line don't seem to want to give it out.

My selected Loomis branch is 1.5 hours away.

  5. My case was updated today March 10th but the status remains the same.

I still have not heard back from the embassy through email or telephone.

    Any ideas, input or suggestions?

The link I clicked above and browsed through, there is nothing stating where or how I can book an interview.. I ended up clicking the montreal interview instructions and it took me to packet 4.. No news there.

I'm thinking about calling the montreal embassy but I don't want to get them agitated.

  6. Mine said this for a little bit. I never had a second interview. I think it's normal but not sure.

    Please tell me more.

Did it change status from second interview to "issued" or something?

Did you just get an email saying you were approved and to go pick up your passport?

    How did the process work?

  7. Hey guys, I just checked my case status and finally saw the word "READY" instead of "AP".

I nearly jumped in excitement until I read the fine print down below

Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

What the heck!!?? Again? Is this normal?

Anyone ever have the same experience or go for another interview? What was this like?

  8. Born in Calgary and raised in Ontario... Ive never called it "zed" always "zee".

I guess sesame street is to blame for that.

I actually cringe when I hear it called "zed"

Ketchup chips vs Hot cheetos.. tough one. Depends on the mood.

  9. Hello everyone. As maybe some of you may know, I was issued a 221g form and placed in AP on my interview date October 23rd 2013. I was not approved for my visa because I had a past DUI in the US and the officer wanted more paperwork from my doctors

After finally getting all my paperwork together I mailed in all documents needed by the consular on January 13th 2014. I seen through Loomis tracking that the consular office received my package the next day on the 14th.

Since January 13th I've been checking my case status every day.

On February 3rd it says I was still in "necessary Administrative Processing" but it said "case status updated February 3rd".

So I assumed that the officer/consular office had opened my package.

Since February 3rd I've been vigorously checking my case status online at https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

I check multiple times throughout the day.

    Today however when I typed in my case number to check I got an "Application Error" which states;

    "

    Application Error
An unexpected error has occurred while processing your previous request. The error has been reported to the site administrator; no further action is required."

It's been giving me this error all day. I've checked from multiple computer and cell phones.

Is their website down or is this just me? I'm starting to panic.

Can anyone check their status and report back whether they're getting an error or not?
  10. Hello guys. After being 221g'd I finally got my paperwork together needed and sent it off through Loomis to the consulate 1 week ago on the 13th (my passport was in this package).

I have some VERY kind friends who just purchased me a week vacation (non refundable) to Cuba with them.

I went to the Passport office and explained the situation to them and the people at the passport office said that they need some proof in writing from the US consulate that they do infact have my passport. I showed them my loomis receipt but it was not enough evidence

Is this possible? Can I call or email the US consulate for this writing?

  11. Yes I still do have my passport as it was given back to me to mail in when I have all my paper work ready.

I only have 1 DUI in the states which all fines/counselling/jail time are completed. I'm clean as a whistle in Canada(never even been pulled over).

Again, thanks for the advice. You guys make me happy and I hope to pay it all back on here one day.

  12. I didn't read the entire form from Dr. Masca-whatcha-coosie in Toronto BUT maybe try one of the newer panel physicians, there is one in Vaughan and one in Scarborough. Maybe they will charge less for the same service?

    Looking that up..

Does anyone know if I can visit my wife in the US after a 221g?

  13. Oh, an FYI. The DUI occurred in the US. Not Canada.

I know there's no excuse for a DUI. It's a shameful thing but I wish they'd look at the circumstances. It was in a parking lot and I wasn't even in my car when it happened.

  14. Very true.. I appreciate the replies and will keep everyone updated.

I have to fill out one part. A family doctor fills out one part. Then the panel physician fills out the last.

Currently hunting for a new family doctor.

Please, if anyone has and info share it with me. It will be extremely appreciated.

  15. Did they detail what the prescreening process and tests are?

I'm going to copy and paste the document the panel physician sent me to complete.

form with your narrative response to each question.
    1) Were you aware that your patient has had a conviction and/or arrest for an alcohol-related offence
including but not limited to driving while impaired? If yes, please detail in a narrative report when you
became aware and what if any history you obtained or findings discovered on physical examination or from
investigations including blood work. Did you come to the conclusion that your patient was suffering from
an alcohol-related disorder? If so, what treatment did you recommend? What evidence do you have that
your patient complied with treatment? If you did not conclude that your patient had an alcohol-related
disorder, please explain how you came to this conclusion.

    OFFENCES
  16. Oh my. Reading these replies is stressing me out like crazy.

I have a feeling that the embassy is going to give me the run around even if I send everything in.

Does anyone know what kind of procedure they do? Blood/Urine test? Price?

I am currently contacting all friends and family for help.

  17. 221g'd...

Easily the lowest point in my life right now. I thought I for sure was going to finally live with my wife. I'm feeling sick to my stomach

Visa refused. I got section 221g due to a DUI I had nearly 3 years ago.

CO told me I must talk to my panel physician first about this, obtain a letter from him and send it back to the CO office along with my passport.

I contacted my panel physician and I was informed that its a multi step process and that I must first go to my family doctor to do some pre screening for alcohol abuse. THEN obtain a notarized reference letter.

    Well..

    1. My family doctor passed away nearly a year ago. I use walk in clinics now.
I went to several walk in clinics. All of which refuse to do the pre screening but of course are willing to do a DRUG TEST (not alcohol, DRUG TEST). For a fee. LOL of course they want my money. I of course denied the drug test. What good is a drug test when they won't do the questionnaire?

    2. I cannot find anybody to do this questionnaire for me, the panel physician wants $500 per hour to do any kind of consulting which is... Jeeze. Unaffordable right now?

I can't believe something so stupid.. A dumb mistake from the past is coming back to haunt me like this. As if court ordered counselling and jail time wasn't enough in the first place I have to do all this because they think I'm a raging alcoholic. I know it's not the interviewees fault. She was so nice and was following a guideline. It just quirks me that even though they had proof in their hands of my previous counselling it's not acceptable.

I can't even stand alcohol. I feel like a puppet.

Can I visit the US after a 221g? I'd like to visit my wife.
