  3. I sent all the documents they asked for in the yellow letter with my application and i made duplicates and brought the originals when i went for the interview today, they didn't ask for anything. so...yeah. I would suggest to bring it anyway. Better to be safe than sorry. I've heard stories of officers asking for documents that they couldn't produce at that time and had to sign a paper that they cannot make a decision at this time and wait for a RFE letter.

  4. hey guys,

I went for my interview today, heres my experience. I applied based on the 3 year rule.

My appointment was at 1:40. I got there at 1:30 and the room was in had about 100 people waiting. Waited about 2 hours was finally called in at 3:30. The officer was professional but made very little eye contact and doesn't seem open. He took me to his office and swore me in.

We started with the english test and asked me to read

    "When is Columbus day?"

and to write Columbus day is on October.

Afterwards we went straight to the civics test he asked me the following questions:

There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

Who is in charge of the executive branch?

During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?

What is one reason colonists came to America?

If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

Afterwards he went straight to the application questions. Then he printed out a paper that he's recommending me for approval. He escorted me out and the whole thing lasted around 20 minutes.

    Side notes:

-i had 20 corrections on my application because i filled my application via the pdf and missed filling in the A number on the top right corner of each page of the application. So as he was asking me the questions he's filling it in.

    - I brought in all the paper work that the yellow letter asked for and he didn't ask for any of it.

-At the end as he was about to escort me out, he asked me if i signed up for selective service i told him no and asked the reason behind it and asked me how old i was when i got the green card. I told him that i was 27 already when i received my green card. I told him i have the selective service letter and gave it to him. afterwards he escorted me out and said that they will send me a notice about my oath within 120 days.

I hope this helps as this always helped me reading about it before hand from other applicants.

  6. Called USCIS as today would make 90 days since I have been in line for an interview. My local office(NYC) is currently processing January applicants as of August 31st...I do see from other threads that some New Yorkers have had and gone through their interviews. Hopefully the call would serve as a notice to update my application...patiently waiting.

  7. I didn't register either but looked it up and one of the contingencies, if you want to apply for citizenship before you reach 31 would be to get a letter from SSS stating why you didn't register. I just requested one said that I didn't know about it and they sent a letter back stating that this is a letter regarding your request and that they did not send you any kind of notice or on any of their files that you needed a notice sent regarding the registration. I sent it along with my citizenship application. still waiting to be interviewed though...good luck

  8. One question to those who got NoA. In my letter I have the following sentence: Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office. DO you have the same one in your letters? THX

I think this is in reference to the reading and civics test. the record checks being passing the qualifications and fingerprint clearance.
