I had my oath ceremony this morning. The actual ceremony took one hour, but I ended up being there for 3.5 hours because of all the procedures before and after the ceremony. I have already registered to vote, updated my social security record and applied for a US passport today. It has been a busy day, but also a great one. Hey Javierita, you have no reason to worry. I took all original tax transcripts since I became a permanent resident, but the officer didn't even ask to see them. I also took all the documents listed in the interview letter (original birth certificate for my spouse, all my passports, original marriage certificate...etc), but nothing else. The officer did look at my passport and all the stamps. As long as you satisfy the continuous residence and physical presence requirements, there's no need to worry. Day trips to Vancouver don't count, only trips longer than 24 hours. I left the US 3 times after my N-400; I went to Canada, Turkey, Singapore and Cambodia. The officer could see that I had been out of the country additional times than the ones listed on my application, but I had a list of those additional trips (destinations and dates) ready to give her and she asked no further questions. I didn't take any boarding passes or hotel receipts, just the list and the stamps in my passport. Good luck on your interview!

Hey guys, I received a txt last Friday that I was scheduled for the oath. I have been checking online at least 3 times a day and waiting for the mail, and the pdf was finally uploaded today. My oath is on Mar 31. The USCIS website says my field office was processing Mar 26 cases as of Dec 31, so I am not sure how meaningful that information is. Hang in there, we're almost there!

We then pledged allegiance to the United States and to the flag and finally received our so desired certificate of citizenship. Some friends and members of my family were there which made that day even more special to me. There was a little reception afterwards with food and refreshments sponsored by a local non-profit but I could not participate in it.

 

I would like to thank all of the people and friends of the Visa Journey website for providing this amazing tool. This website was of great value to me. I have no words no describe how grateful I am.  I sincerely hope that you will all receive your benefits and hang in there.

I had my interview last Monday February 13 at Fairfax Va and was recommended for approval! Yehey! Now just waiting for my oath letter to be mail. Quick question, how long did you wait for you oath ceremony schedule?

CONGRATS Brazilguy82! I am also a Washington DC field office filer. I had my interview on Feb 14 in Fairfax and my status says I am in line for oath. I am also wondering how long it took to receive your oath letter after the interview 

Hi everyone,

I had my interview yesterday at the Washington, DC field office. It went very well and I passed the test. Right after I left the FO, I received a bunch of txts and emails that my case was updated online. The "my case status" page where you put in your receipt number says that I am in line for oath scheduling. However, when I log into my ELIS account it says "oath scheduled" but there's no PDF. I am not sure which one to believe. I am wondering if this is another glitch where the ELIS account says "oath scheduled" when you're actually only placed in line, which is what happened when I was in line for an interview. Anyone else see this status?

I got an e-mail yesterday saying that my interview was scheduled. I kept checking the ELIS account and couldn't see a pdf, but I just checked again (a little more than 24 hours later) and my interview date is Feb 14th! The letter is dated 1/9/2017. My case is IOE. Can someone please update my timeline? Hang in there everyone, your interview letters are coming.

My "interview scheduled" update has been there since Oct 31. I called as soon as I saw it a month ago and the tier 2 officer told me my case was in my local office in line for an interview and to call back if it is not scheduled within 30 days. I called again yesterday (a month later) and the officer told me the same thing: in line for interview, and they don't have a timeline for when it might be scheduled. He also said to call back if I don't hear in the next 30 days. I am wondering how long they will keep doing this! He said they're catching up because they received over a million n-400 applications because it's an election year. *sigh*

I called the USCIS customer service last week when I first saw the "interview scheduled" status in my online account. I spoke to a tier 2 officer and she told me my interview was not scheduled, but that I was in line for an interview as of Oct 31 and that my background check cleared. I do think that the "interview scheduled" status means the case was transferred to the local office and is now in line for interview. The officer also told me my interview should be scheduled within 30 days from Oct 31 and to call back if I don't get it by the end of November. I'm glad to see some IOE cases being scheduled for interviews include midge&isi

It seems I have an absolutely different view of my account. I don't see when it was updated last. It doesn't say it. Only when they sent the last receipt.

above the dates when the receipts were sent, there is a "try it now" button that will take you to the new interface and that's where we're seeing the "interview scheduled" and the "last updated" info

my account also says "USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice" but I believe that is referring to my biometrics being scheduled back in August. On the right hand side, it says last update: 8/3/16 which was when my biometrics appointment was scheduled. Have you accounts been updated more recently? I really hope some interviews are being scheduled and it is not just weird nomenclature referring to our biometrics appointments.

I was having the problem, but then I realized I had to use one of I.E., Firefox or Chrome, NOT Safari. Were you using safari this time?

Is anyone able to log into their USCIS account? when I first created the online account, I was able to log in and see my biometrics letter..etc but now I log in and it goes straight to the "My USCIS" homepage. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey guys, I did a walk-in today because I had a conflict on my scheduled biometrics date. updating the list to reflect that. The receptionist acknowledged I wasn't schedule until the 25th, but said they had no problems with walk-ins. It took about 45 mins.

You will get a new receipt number. You should get a new notice once your application is accepted prompting you to set up an online account with the new receipt number.

I just received back the entire application package and the rejection letter today which states that the application was rejected for not filing within the 90 days. Not sure if they had attempted to charge the card but since I cancelled and replaced it, I don't have to worry about then charging me twice. My only question is that when the returned the package, they removed my tabs and the table of contents letter. Should I just ship it back the same way I received it and not put back the table of contents and the tabs to separate and identify the documents also, should I reprint a new application, sign and date it today. They already have some things printed at the bottom of every page of the entire package.

I also had tabs and a cover letter, which they removed from the application before they sent it back to me. I did not add anything back in except a new credit card authorization form, which was missing from the returned package. I did not fill out a new application. I used the one they returned that was already signed and dated. I have had no problems, my application has been accepted, credit card charged and my online status says my biometrics notice is one the way.

Hi! What was wrong in my info?

It said your check was cashed 03/08 instead of 08/03 and it had a biometrics date of 07/18/2016, which was before you even filed so I figured it was a mistake. Also, is washington, DC your local office? did you file to Dallas or pheonix lockbox?

Hey NCPAl,

Thank you for responding and confirmed what I suspect would have happened to me. I didn't want to take the risk and wait to see if they would look at it and hopefully reject immediately without charging my card. Sometimes they don't catch it until after they accept and create the NOA and then you're out of luck so I just cancelled the card to make sure it doesn't go through which will automatically get rejected for no-payment. I'll get the replacement card in 2 days to reprocess the new application. Did they send back the original application packet with the denial letter?

Yes, they sent the entire application package back along with the rejection letter. It looked like it was already scanned in (all pages had a barcode/info on the bottom). I resubmitted the same package and they accepted that. The only form that was missing was the credit card authorization form, which the rejection letter states was destroyed so I sent in a new one. Good luck!

KASH2011, thanks for your response but based on the date calculator, the earliest accepted date would be 8/03 and they received it on 8/01. I don't want to take the risk like other people in the past who got denied at the interview for applying two days early and then had to reapply and pay another $680 so, therefore, I definitely think I should just force a rejection by blocking my payment in which case they would send me back my application packet and all I have to do is to resend with the new payment. Just wondering how long they will take to send it back. I also have a duplicate copy of my packet except my passport photos.

My application was delivered 1 day before my eligibility day according to the early filing calculator. My application was rejected and sent back to me without charging the $680. The rejection notice was issued three days later (by that time I was eligible), but they go by the date the application was received. I just resubmitted the application and my card was charged $680. The same will probably happen to you, so hopefully you won't have to pay twice.
