    HI,

My PD is 28 Nov 2003 F4 India Category...When can i expect IL?

I believe they process IL emails on a night batch. Monday is the first working day after Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, so they may start sending out letters starting from Monday night in the US. Since cutoff date on last visa bulletin for India was Nov 22 and your PD is Nov 23, You should be one of the first individuals to get it. Hope you get in soon.

As per the information I have, while showing up for an interview, we are supposed to take a form i864 with us filled and signed by every sponsor separately. Could anyone please tell if it can be a photocopy of signed i864 or it has to be an original copy (original ink signed)?

I would suggest original , they may not ask or may ask so do not take eisk.

Also make sure you take atleast 3 copies for sponsor papers. In fact if you are family of 4 than I would suggest original + 4 copies. I am saying rhis beacause they will ask for copies of sponsorship papers for each applicant and inside consulate whan I went the xerox rate for one page was 68 Rs ie 1$. ( yes this is not typo 68 / page) . Plus they will ask for exact change they will Not accept 1 rs more or less , U have to give exact amount !!

So make sure u have enough / all the copies + more than enough change in ur wallet in case its require.

Thank you so much. Do you also suggest taking multiple copies of other documents such as civil documents and US Petitioner's status documents?

didn't you submit it to USCIS? why would you need it again?

Where would they ask for original again? the embassy should have it already from uscis.

OCT 28th here. still waiting for IL.

US Embassy / Consulate where you show up for the interview requires it again. The requirements may vary from country to country - for details please take a look at Review Embassy/Consulate Instructions section in the below link:

Current waiting time does not provide a good future waiting time estimation as F4 line has grown significantly in the past few years. Based on current scenario, waiting time could get much much longer. To put this into a prospective, this category has an annual quota of 65k each year, but there are over 2.5 million people waiting on line - and after considering derivative beneficiaries the numbers could reach even higher.

While checking visa application status at ceac.state.gov, it says the case is at NVC. However the case has already been completed. Does anyone know when it gets changed to consular office or something? We received a case complete letter a while ago, but still waiting for the PD to be current.

When you'll receive your IL and your case will be forwarded to the local embassy, only then status will change to "Transferred".

    Thank you!

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. My PD is 2009 ( India). my question is that if I look at the historical data, in 2010 it was taking 8 years ( minimum so far ) for the F4 visa approval and now its 14-15 years. Has anyone any insights from the news or some predictions, how the movement is going to be for the next 2-3 years. Is there any source out there which gives some accurate prediction.

    Thanks,

    Manny

    Hi Manny,

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, exact data on how many people are on the line ahead of you to make an educated estimation is unavailable. Currently there are over 2.5 million people waiting on f4 line.

Waiting time down to 8 years at one time was like a delusion - it immediately moved back by 2 years of retrogression leaving up false hopes in everyone's mind and took like another 4 years to get to where it was before. The waiting time has steadily growing in the past few years as you can see. Based on my observations, waiting times are likely to get longer. Sorry, but it's a bitter truth. God bless!

I went through the Raise Act bill they have drafted a while ago. I am relieved reading the below statement (excerpt from the bill) - thought to share it with you all.

    (e) Effective Date; Applicability.—

    (1) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the first day of the first fiscal year that begins after the date of the enactment of this Act.

    (2) INVALIDITY OF CERTAIN PETITIONS AND APPLICATIONS.—Any petition under section 204 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1154) seeking classification of an alien under a family-sponsored immigrant category that was eliminated by the amendments made by this section and filed after the date on which this Act was introduced and any application for an immigrant visa based on such a petition shall be considered invalid.

    Hi Everyone,

After the interview embassy asked to provide second sponsor. Any suggestion what can i do?

That means income from your primary sponsor is not enough to sponsor you and your dependents. You will another US person who is a US citizen or a US legal permanent resident that is willing to fill out the affidavit of support form i864 for you. Once you have the new form filled out by new joint sponsor, you can take the original signed form along with supporting documents to the embassy for further process.

You hope but I am sure they can not. Even the earlier it was introduced by Obama . But legally they can not cancel old files + they will phase out step wise or wef future date NOT back dated

I hope you are right. I tried to gather some more information on immigration bill - Raise Act they come up with a while ago. Their plan is to reduce the immigration into half in next several years, and get rid of some of the family categories as well as the DC lottery. However, I could not find details on how they are planning to reduce the quota. Given the fact that there are over 2.5 million people waiting on line (as per one of the articles I have read a while ago), I am bit skeptical that they would make a provision to take everyone aboard. However, let's hope for the best. God bless to everyone on line.

That's great to hear. Do you know if the bill they are currently working has that provision? I am sure that sooner or later they will end the migration program for siblings. Hope people that are already waiting on line are not affected.

    case compleet 21.18.17

Looks like he did not mention when he sent out documents to NVC. If his case is opened on May 7, he may have sent out docs sometimes in May. That would make the processing time well over 2 months.

This is good news. Is the processing time same across all family categories? Tried to find it out at NVC website, but  no information related to this could be found. They mentioned upto 11 weeks for a case review. Hope the processing time is short now.

It's almost end of the month. Anyone have any info on IL for September, please share. Hope we see some movement this month.

Also, does anyone know how long does the NVC take to complete cases these days? How do we know if our case is completed? Do we get the IL directly or we get some kind of case complete notice before it's sent to Consular Office abroad?

NVC received Supporting Documents for my sister and her family on May 30th, 2017.

Today I received an NVC letter asking for Birth Certificate of my SIster's husband.  During my call with NVC a while ago, they mentioned, Passport can be used as valid Birth Date proof.

They are also asking for Original Marriage Certificate in Native Language though I have provided a certified copy of the same in Native(Urdu) and English language from Issuing agency, NADRA.

Yes, Birth Certificate is required. Also for documents that are not in English, a photocopy of both original document and English translated document needs to be sent together. Do not send an original document as they will not return them back.
