  1. I would call and talk to another Tier 2 officer. Once you get the same response from 5 officers, then you'll know you have the correct answer. Try calling late in the evening (I think they are open until 8PM) for shorter wait times.

They CAN see if the case has been transferred to a local office. Some officers just choose not to share the information.

It may not have been transferred, in which case they should tell you they don't see that it was transferred, but not that they don't know if it was.

The service requests can take couple of months to get a response to. Not useful.

Cases are usually transferred within the first couple of months after filing. Then they sit there until that office is ready to review them. How they choose in which order to work on files is not clear. It's obviously not in the order the cases are filed.

There is really not much you can do to speed things up. If you really want to know where you case is, you could try contacting your congressional liaison (search for it here on VJ). They have contacts at local offices and can check if your file is there.

    Best of luck!

Ok, I spoke to tier 2 again and the officer was nice enough to tell me more info. She said since my parents are still living in Cambodia, her case will be approved by NBC and then transfer to Cambodia Embassy and will not transfer to my local office in Philadelphia. She also told me it's usually 8mth for approval. So maybe in Jan 2014 i should hear something ???? crossing finger

  2. Ok, so they don't see that it was transferred to a local office. Then it's probably still at NBC.

I haven't really been following up on this, but it seems that there has been some change in procedures again, and that may be why the processing times are longer.

Apparently, there is a new NBC processing center in Overland Park, Kansas, and all I-130s since May have been on hold sitting at that new center that opened on Sep. 28th.

You can look up more info about it on this forum...

@ WorldTraveler: Thx for all your reply.

snap!!! thay's where my parents I-130 resigned. I check NOA1 and the address shown it's from Overland Park, KS.

Ok, I called a few of Tier 2 Officer and they all said the same thing. "they don't know where my case is at beside it's still in NBC." Does this mean, my parents case is still sitting in NBC and hadn't been touch? thx

  4. wow, tier 2 waiting time is 72min lol.. I will edit this once i get some info.

ok Tier 2 doesn't know if the case is transferred to local office but they had put a request to my local office to see if it's their. I should get a letter from local office by or before Oct 15th. I will update once i got the news.

Question: Let say my case in local office, I-130 (parents)? Does it mean it will get approve soon?

    thx

  5. Ask to speak to Tier 2 officer and then ask if your case has been transferred to the local office and when. Most MSC cases are processed at local offices. The officer should be able to find what the local office is based on your zip code, but you can also find it on USCIS we site.

USCIS has volume charts for each local office, so you can get some idea how busy they are. You usually can't call into the local office directly, but you can setup an info pass to that office and go get some answers in person.

  6. There's no data for NBC, that's true. You should ask about your individual case. Like, say, "I filed change of address, but I still wanted to make sure I didn't miss any letters from you. So how is my case doing?" Or something like that.

I can say that's even though my address is the same? smile.png I'm just clueless of what to ask so they can at least gave me something related to my case. thx

  7. Wanted to give a quick update as it is coming up on 6 months since I filed for my parents. I contacted the office of Senator Ted Cruz (Texas) a few weeks ago and yesterday got a phone call from the immigration representative there. She told me that it is a processing time of approx. 6 months at the national benefits center before it is transferred to the local service center and Texas right now is the slowest. She was told by USCIS to contact them again after this week if it still hadn't been sent out.

I'm glad that we at least have senate involvement now and hopefully the other march filers and February will see results soon.

    Collie,

Would you mind sharing your letter because I do not know how to write. thank you in advance

  8. Ok i call uscis and they told me since my receipt start with MSC, there is no timeframe on my applicaton but they told me to write letter to NBC for a timeframe. that's no good.

They say the normal time now is 7 months. it's been 6.5 for me. But you by all means can call USCIS. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to remind them of your existence.

    hi,

It's been 4 months now and still under "review". Should I contact someone? Who?
