  1. Hi All,

I just checked my status online and it says:

On January 12, 2016, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXX, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by February 11, 2016, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I already got done through my biometrics. How long should I wait? Is there a timeline?

    Thanks,

    GC

  2. Hey Guys,

My 2 years conditional GC is going to expire this 3rd March 2016. As per the USCIS website, I must file a petition to remove the condition during the 90 days before the card expires. My confusion is that my passport expired in April 2016 as well. I am thinking of sending my application be mid of December with the same passport. Do you think I will have any problem in the process? Passport renewal normal takes 4-5 weeks and since I have to travel to Mexico in December, I am thinking of renewing it in January. But I don't want to wait that long to send my application to USCIS. What do you guys think? I would really appreciate all replies.

    Regards,

  3. Hi Friends,

I am really confused with making an appointment for a biometric and the actual interview date. I scheduled a date on ustraveldocs.com website but now in realized that it was just a biometric date and not real interview date. Can you guys tell me where do I go and book the actual interview date? It is for my Mom and it will be under B1-B2 tourist visa. Do in need to call them to book an interview date? The document I have right now says OFC appointment .

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Thank,

    GC1981

  4. HI Guys,

I am a Permanent resident and applying for my mom's visa for the first time. I have few questions and I will honestly appreciate any replies.

    My questions:

    1) How much balance should I have in my account?

    2) Do I need to book her ticket prior to the visa date?

    3) For finances, If i show my accounts back in India , would that help?

    4) Is there a list of documents My mom should take to the visa interview?

    5) is it good to show my property papers having her name which will help her to show that she is not a potential immigrant?

    5) Also, should I have an affidavit of support documents?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. I got my interview schedules for this 4th Feb but I had to reschedule as I am currrently in India and my wife will be visiting my family

next month in India. My concern is I don't have a permanent address in US as I work as an IT consultant and I keep moving a lot. Now ,

all my documents ( phone, bank statements, etc. ) are already forwarded to my wife's address . I will be back to US this Feb end.

So for 2 months, there is no way I can get USCIS documents and notifications.

So should I just change my permanent address to my wife's address? That way I will at-least get all my documents on time.

We will be moving together in April most probably. This change in address will definitely delay my GC processing but my only

concern is it that, will this have a negative impact on my GC processing ? it should not because all my address changes

were genuine with a reason and I had to travel urgently because my dad passed away.

    Thanks,

  6. Hi Friends ,

First of all I would like to say thanks to all VJ members. You guys have been a great support and I would say this is the best immigration forum.

So here is my query :

I got my final interview date . Here's the USCIS notification:

On January 3, 2014, we mailed you an appointment notice for an interview for February 4, 2014.

Now confusion huh2.gif here is that I am in India right now due to some emergency and I won't be back before end of February .

Can I I postpone my interview to March? I already informed USCIS about my dad's health condition and now he is no more so I have to stay with my mom for sometime. Is that possible to reschedule my interview by calling USCIS ? Would it have any negative impacts on my case? I already got my EAD/Parole so status is not a problem for me. My only concern is that if I reschedule it, I don't want to wait for another 2-3 months. Does anyone among you guys have faced the same situation?

if yes, your replies will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and all you guys rock:) !!

  7. Also, Should I change my address using AR-11 form? MY I-485 status says " Testing and Interview" and I-130 says . I am sure to get an interview in the month of January but sadly I won't be there. So I have to let USCIS know again and reschedule my interview.

Another confusion is that my I-131 application says "Post decision activity" and my EAD/AP was already sent. What is that suppose to mean?

    Thanks.

  8. Darnell.

Can you please elaborate what you mean here? You mean should I inform USCIS about my current situation ? I am just worried if I let them know about my current situation, they will probably cancel my whole application.

    Guys,

One more question out of curiosity, My online status still says testing and Interview. My wife will be visiting me next month and so is this anyhow possible to have my interview here in India? If a USC sponser someone sitting in India , How long will this take, keeping in my mind that my case was already filed in US and I had to fly dude to my family emergencies . Should I hire an attorney back in US?

I am waiting for someone who already has faced such situation and I want to know how they dealt with it. I would really appreciate all replies.

    Thanks.

  9. Thanks a lot for all your suggestion and it means a lot to me. I checked my status and I will be getting the combo EAD/AP on Monday. My friend will email me the scanned copy and either mail me or my wife who is visiting me next month and will bring it along with her. Worst part of all this painful process is that USCIS never try to understand and help you in these kind of situation . Instead they make it worse. I heard it on this forum that if you have approved EAD/AP card , you can get some kind of stamping on your passport but all my effort was in vain. I do have an approved H1-B but getting stamp on my H1-B is even tougher and as you guys said it will void my GC process . So I will rather wait for combo card and I strongly hope that I will get it soon. I will keep you guys updated of my situation.

I just want to say that this forum is of great help .

    Thanks guys

  10. Thanks Dave. It was an emergency . I had to leave the country and I had no options. I went to the USCIS office and asked them to give me some document as a evidence for me to return back to US but they were kinda rude and told me straightforward that this is the only option . They told me that my EAD/Parole was approved on 3rd Dec, 2013 . Anyways, I checked my status and I have the USPS tracking number with me. I already told my friend to pick it up from USPS and send it to me. I created this thread to just see if any other applicant has faced the same situation. I did send all packages including AOS and EAD/AP. In worst case, if I don't get the card, I just want to have some backup with me. I was thinking :

    1) I will change my address again and this time I will change it to my wife's address and will ask USCIS to send me the card again. I am sure this will take another 3-4 weeks.

    2) Try to get stamping on my approved H1-b document which is a big hassle.

    3) May be go to embassy here in India and asked them any kind of documents. I have all my NOC from USCIS with me . For this option i.e. going to US embassy in India , I have no clue what should I do . I would really appreciate if someone can give me some guidance.

    Thanks in advance.

  11. Hi Friends,

USCIS accepted my package on 30th September, 2013. I moved to a different city and as per USCIS thry mailed my EAD/Parole to my old address and it was undelivered .

Due to my dad's serious health condition, I had to leave US this 25th. Before leaving US , I went to the USCIS office and asked them to give atleast some documents to show that my Green Card is in processing but they were too rude an told me you EAD is aproved and we can't do anything and you should wat for your card. Now , I see it on USCIS website and status says " Card/ Document Production " .

So I asked my friend to ship the card as soon he got this in mail.

My question is , if it in worst case , I don't get this card, can i still travel with my application info and tell them my EAD/parole is approved.

I do have a H1-B too but it is not stamped. So should I go for stamping or wait for atleast 2 weeks for my card to be here in India.

Does anyone has ever faced this kinda situation ? I would really appreciate all your replies. That would be a great help to me.

    Thanks.

  12. Hi Friends,

I went to the Alexandria center and got done with my bio-metrics today. I asked the lady who did my bio-metrics about my EAD and she told me you should get in your mail box 3-4 weeks from now.

USCIS received my package on 30th August and it took so long for Bio-metrics because of address change and I was fool not to now let them know and to trust the USPS forwarding option. So I have these three questions :

    1) According to you guys, when should I get the final interview?

    2) Can someone tell me how long it took for them to get EAD after their bio-metrics was done ?

    3) Since My case is somehow already delayed , Can I ask them for an earlier interview or should I just wait for it?

    4) Can I still get an RFE?

I would really appreciate your replies.

    Thanks.
