The letter was indeed an approval notice! Thank God! It came from the Nebraska Service Center. We initially filed in the California Service Center. We never received any notification about it being transferred. The USCIS page still shows the message we got back in January 2017. The official date of approval is 05/07/2018. Definitely an early birthday present for my wife, lol.The letter says she will receive her 10 year Resident card within 60 days. Everyone waiting for their approval, DO NOT LOSE HOPE, IT'S COMING.....

I really hope this is her approval letter.... We have been through hell and high water since her 2 year card expired with CBP. We live in a border city and travel to Mexico every weekend to visit her family and its been something else dealing with inept CPB officers. I highly recommend that all of you sign up for USPS informed delivery. I signed up earlier this month when I read about USCIS requiring signature for Green Card delivery. If it wasn't for this service this letter would have sat in the mailbox for a few days. You get an email every morning with images of the mail that will be delivered later that day. Keeping our fingers crossed until the mailman arrives!!!

So I signed up to receive notifcations about incoming mail throught the USPS website. The USPS sends you images of the maik that will be arriving each day. My wife will be receiving a letter from USCIS today. I don't want to get too excited but it looks like an approval letter. I am thinking this because you can see the Statue of Liberty's torch. I have not received any notifications in my email from USCIS though. Anybody else that has received a letter before an email notification?

Good morning to everyone!!!! It's good to see that January 2017 filers are being transferred to other service centers. Congratulations to everyone that has been approved recently. Still waiting to hear from USICIS. My wife's case has not been moved from CSC since Jan 9, 2017. Hoping and praying for transfers and quick approvals for everyone.....

Congratulations to all recent approvals!!!! I am very happy to see that VSC is moving so quickly for everyone in that service center. Unfortunately we are at CSC and still waiting.... We drove 4 hours yesterday, to Alburqueque. Showed up to our appointment. The USCIS officer was not happy that we were out of their jurisdiction to stamp my wife's passport. I let her know no available appointment at our local office. She went on to tell us that if it would have been anyone else in that office they would have turned us away, but she was going to stamp and extend my wife's passport. So now the stamp on her passport is valid until 01/08/2019. We will patiently continue to wait....

The officer is wrong. USCIS reworded the letter in July 2017 to get rid of this unnecessary confusion.
Here's what the extension letter now says - maybe you should print it out?

How very nice to hear from you!! And yes, the nightmare continues.... We got our receipt notice in January of 2017. I'm glad to see the wording was addressed. Unfortunately what the CBP officers say goes. Our letter is not specific, and there is no way in hell that I'm giving them $585 every time they hold my wife hostage as we cross the border, we do that every weekend. The USCIS officer at the US embassy in Juarez also read our letter and said the letter expires 1 year of receipt date, believe me, I asked. I just hope we don't get any grief from the USCIS Field Office in Alburqueque since it is a 4 hour drive.

It could be that the officers at that border crossing are making a mistake, but that's not a battle I'd like to find myself in, trying to convince them that they are wrong... 😳
I actually told the CBP officer, with all due respect you are wrong, and he responded ok, you'll get charged $585 every time she crosses. I left it at that, told him I was going to call USCIS.

Looks like all of us in the California Service Center have been forgotten.
Awesome to see people in Vermont are getting a lot of love!! Had issues with CBP after New Years. They are adamant that my wife's 1 year extension letter expires on receipt date 01/09/2018, instead of 1 year from expiration of her green card. They threatened to charge us $585.00 every time she crosses the Mexico/US border after 01/09/2018. We live in El Paso, TX, so we tried to schedule an Infopass appointment at our local field office with no success. They have no appointments available. So we made an infopass appointment at the US embassy in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. We went and were told that they are no longer allowed to stamp the I-551 on passports outside of the country. They informed us that our local field office is saturated and we might not be granted a walk in. We were advised to travel to Albuquerque, NM, about 4 hours away, where they do have appointments available to get her passport stamped. USCIS officer confirmed that the expiration of the extension letter is indeed 1 year from receipt date. So now we have our infopass appointment for 01/09/2018 in Albuquerque. Crossing our fingers that we will not have any issues and get her passport stamped.

Even if the government shuts down USCIS continues working thanks to the checks we include in our packages. I don't anticipate any delays because of this.

Added myself to the list. Word of advice, keep your package as slim as possible. I had to use a Priority Express mail box, and ended up paying $40.50 for shipping. I mailed off on Saturday, 01/07/2017, USCIS will receive today before 3pm.

Hello everyone! Congratulations to everyone on their recent approval and green card delivery. I took my wife to Las Vegas this last week for her birthday.... We came back on Friday, which is the same day her 10 yr green card was delivered. We never received any type of notification about the approval or the green card being mailed out. Definitely an excellent finish to an excellent birthday vacation for her.... For everyone that is still waiting, it's coming.....
