  1. Hi everyone,

USCIS received my case (petition to remove conditions) on April 12, 2016 and I got no other notices since then... I saw they were processing cases from May of 2016 already so I called and got a service request... I got a letter today saying they sent me a letter for additional evidence in April this year but I never received that letter. This is the first time I'm hearing about this... They are saying the evidence must be submitted by June 29, 2017 and this deadline cannot be extended, if I fail to provide the evidence, my case will be denied and I could be removed from the United States. Well, today is July 8th and it's already past the deadline...What can I do??? They are saying that the evidence does not sufficiently establish that my spouse and I entered the marriage in good faith and continue to share a life together. We submitted a joint tax return, joint insurance policy, lease renewal with both of our names, medical bills in my name and my husband as the responsible party, joint phone account, medical bills from my pregnancy and ultrasound pictures....

What the heck???? Please tell me I will be able to somehow solve this...

  2. I have a question about Part 9 on the N400 form... I'm going to be filing based on having a green card for 3 years... I've only lived here for 4 years, but they are asking about time spent outside the US in the last 5 years and they want exact days when I left the US and when I returned... If I didn't live here, how can I answer this question???

    Thank you!

  3. Hello!

I have a few questions.. Yesterday I recieved a Notice of Potencial Interview Waiver Case for my I-485. It says they anticipate a delay in completing my case approximately 6 months from now. Does it really usually take that long? It's been almost 6 months from my wedding now...

And my other question is...When can I get naturalized? Is it 3 years from the wedding or from recieving the GC and becoming a resident?

Thank you so much for your help!

  4. Thanks Sharkano! Yes, that is the timeline we originally thought too. But CSC is now saying 8 weeks (although I think you are right about it being more like 40 days for most people, we are on day 33), and the NVC told me directly that when they receive it from CSC they now have up to 90 days to forward it to the Embassy in Norway. So, feasibly, it "could" take a full 5 months, but fingers crossed it doesn't and it just is the 5-7 days. Just trying not to give in to false hope thinking things will go quicker.

We do have our congressman's office involved, and did file an adjudication at the NOA2 process. We are now considering paying the money for an attorney just for peace of mind. But I will say that our congressman's office has been VERY responsive and helpful. I spoke to CSC this morning to inquire about when the NOA2 will be forwarded to NVC, and they had zero information to give me. I relayed this to my congressman's office, and they called 20 minutes after I did and found out it actually had been sent on the 25th of October (the NVC apparently just hasn't gotten it, although its hard to tell- the girl I spoke to there this afternoon was super rude and hung up on me). So, I guess there is progress.... but because of all the weird bumps along the way, it just is hard to tell.

Thank you all again for the responses, I really appreciate it smile.png

It took 8 weeks for us since NOA2 to my interview... My case was at the NVC for not even a week and they forwarded it to my home country... You are at day 34, so don't give up now... I really don't think it's gonna take you another 5 months to finish the process...Go visit again if you can't wait to be together, I spent almost the whole waiting time with my fiance...That helped a lot...

  5. thanks Marie

It was point out to me the the I-693 MUST be done

If you look at the official link that steve posted....paragraph 4d2 states even tho a medical exam is not required....the form must be filled out to prove the vaccinations are done.

And this must be done by the civil surgeon

It seems clear that all these "dr's" that want $250-$300 are scamming us just to fill their pockets

we just need a sign off that proves that the ds-3025 was done

    I hate getting hosed.....

I will keep looking....but once the distance to a doctor increases...it almost becomes not worth the savings

    You are welcome!

You have a copy of the DS-3025 properly completed so you don't need to do the I-693... Mine wasn't properly completed back in my home country so I had to get the I-693.

It was frustrating for me too to find someone who wouldn't want 300 dollars for everythig....

  6. Latest 2 phone calls to civil surgeons.....$300 and $330 for the form fill out

    Thanks Steve

My new wife had NO record of immunizations in the past

So, the only thing she got was what they decided in Manila at St Lukes

I am not real clear when I read her DS-3025....is it complete and acceptable or is there anything more she needs medically

I believe she got 4 shots (I can't get her on the phone now to confirm)

The column "insufficient time interval" is what concerns me

I assume that means there was not enough time for a "series" of shots

So......is she required to have more? therefore the NEED for the civil surgeon?

    (see attached vaccination record)

thanks to any who have experience with this

This looks fine to me... As long as she got the first shot out of the series she if fine.... I think you can just submit this DS-3025 and not have to do the medical in USA. Those are the exact same shots they did to me at the civil surgeon over here in USA.

  7. I got a B2 visa while I was still in college....

Please explain... How long ago was this, and what was your "stong ties" to your country as a student?

It was last year in February. The most important thing was that I still wasn't finished with college so I was planning to go back. They asked me what was the purpose of the visa and I said visiting my boyfriend (they told me in the US that I was coming too often on the visa waiver programe and they recomended me to get the visa). I was told I can't get married on that visa and I said I'm not planning to. I said I would get the right visa when it's the right time for us and the American lady actually explained to me the two different ways how we could get married.

I think they also asked me who will pay for my trips since I was a student... I said my I have a part time job, my Mom is supporting me and my boyfriends will pay for most of the trips and all my expences over there... But they really didn't want any proof of anything from me...I also had a letter from by boyfriend explaining to them why we are trying to get the visa but they wouldn't even read it. She said: " I see in your passport that you have been over there many times and never over stayed your time so I'm gonna issue it for you".

For me it was really easy... But it might be different for somebody from Philipines who has family over here...
