  1. Luck of the draw with operators I think, some are much more inclined to be helpful than others. On Monday I spoke to Jim who is both extremely nice and well-known around VJ for giving above-and-beyond information. I asked if London was still scheduling and he informed me that the "first round" was done, so I naturally questioned what that meant :D I might call once more just to see if they'll tell me when a second round would occur, if it does.

So what does it mean that the "first round" was done? I am assuming "first round" is done for India as well.

  2. Print out the docs requirement list from the NVC website and explain them that you need to send one to the NVC. ALso take your NOA2 and try your luck reasoning with them.

My wife went with the DS-261 confirmation and explained to them that PCC is required to be submitted to NVC as part of the IV application. They agreed and told her that there will first be a police inquiry and then she will have to go back to the get the actual PCC.

This is for the Ahmedabad office.

Just called NVC to clarify something about PCC required from India, She told me, "DO NOT send the Police certificate to the National Visa Center, your wife will bring that to Mumbai during her interview." I told her that the websites say PCC is required to be sent to NVC, she then tells me, "Sir, I am trying to help you, DO NOT send that to NVC, it will cause delays."

Thanks for giving good news I have been confused about this coz if we wait for police certificate it will take another 20 days so it saved our time. Thank you very much for good news

I wouldn't be rejoicing just yet..I just came across a similar post somewhere on visajourney:

    "Hi..

i was also confuse abt sending my PCC or just wait until my interview..so i called NVC and the lady told me that don't send it with DS-260 or DS-230 cuz Mumbai consulate doesn't require to send pcc with DS-260..so i sent everything else but not the PCC..after couple of weeks i got checklist saying iam missing my PCC..so i sent it afterward"

Anyone here ever hear of this?

  5. Who gave you that information? My wife started the PCC process soon as her I-130 was approved. She got her passport reissued with my name on her passport and then got the PCC done. It took about 4 weeks to get everything done. Your spouse should go to passport office soon as possible and start the process. NVC will require the PCC to be sent with IV packet.

My wife went to get her PCC last week in Ahmedabad, India, they said they require some sort of "checklist" or something with a bar code from NVC. They want to know on what basis is she getting her PCC done? Any thoughts on this?
