You don't really need it. Just email the embassy, they will send the interview letter. That is all he needs to get into the US embassy. He just needs to bring his passport. The medical will be faxed to the embassy. GOOD LUCK - let us know the results on the 27th!!!! We filled out our packet 3 to say that Eric wanted to leave germany on dec 15th, that is why our interview is a little later than yours.

Yes, we emailed the embassy but sometimes it takes a couple of days to return the email. I called DOS yesterday twice to ensure I heard them correctly, LOL! Yes, we filled out the Tichi wanted to leave December 1st.

We will let you know as soon as we hear. His appointment is at 8 in the morning so he will know before I wake up.

OMG I'm so thrilled for you lovely couples! I just KNOW you're gonna rock the interview and you have my prayers. Update us when you can, I'll keep my fingers crossed til then and I'll be waiting with my success dance

Called DOS to check if our Packet 3 had reached the embassy because our tracking number still says our packet was being delivered and they gave me our interview date!!! Holy Moly!!! November 27th here we come! What a relief after waiting in AP at NVC!!!

I sent the packet from Chicago via 2-day FedEx, they received on Tuesday Nov 12th and we got our interview letter (via email to me, as I emailed them on Friday asking for current status of packet) this morning. When did you send your packet? GOOD LUCK! Amanda

Hi everyone - we received interview letter today via email from the embasy in Frankfurt, Germany. SO EXCITED!!! Interview in a little over 2 weeks on December 4th!!! Hope all of you other July filers are close to or completed your interviews and can be back together with your loved one soon!!

Hope it passes soon. They never have said how long, which makes it hard. Hang in there, rough estimates lately show only a few weeks these days.

In the last year or so have you witnessed anyone who has been in AP longer than 3 weeks? I know that you went through it longer several years ago but I have not found anyone too much over 21 days. We are on 19 days and I really hope it leaves this week.

Your petition will be forwarded to the NVC. After the NVC reviews it they will assign a Case Number and forward it onto your consulate. They know which one to send it to. Hope this helps!

Called state department and rep stated she doesn't see my case under AP and I told her well nvc stated so and rep said that's just a code they use for general proccessing. I dunno about these people

Yes, DOS is who told me the embassy couldn't take my case right now either. LOL! Really, what we are going through is normal. It's just we see only the best results on here. I always have to remind myself that there are thousands of other people filing for visas that do not use this site.

Did someone use the site before?

I filled out the form in Ombudsman for my case,they sent me an email that has written, "They will try for my case if they can help."

I want to know how much I should have hope from them ?

I sent them a request but they were closed during the shutdown. I received an email two days ago from them telling me my case was shipped to the NVC from CSC and it was currently under AP there. I already knew all of this though.

Oh boy! Well hopefully as you said times have come down a bit since 2008. I just received an email from the Ombudsman that I sent when our case took 6 weeks to ship to NVC from USCIS and they said our case was under AP in the email..LOLOLOL!

I know I was well annoyed! Nearly 8 weeks, nobody could tell us anything, not even a thread here about it at the time. We used to sit in front of the computer at night, yakking back and forth. It is our age? Is it because I am Canadian but filing from NZ? Is it because of his double whammy super duper top secret security clearance..long expired? It is because the planets were incorrectly lined up when our petition hit the desk in front of the person looking at us?

At interview, the very nice lady speaking to me said.."oh. I see you were in random security checks for quite a while. It's something new they are doing. We didn't even know" I asked her again, random, really? She answered, yes. She also had a large bunch of paperwork, with big squares down one side, all with tick marks in them. Nothing we ever sent them, and I was so tempted to ask her what that was. All the same, I figured I've passed, let's not press my luck here, just let me out of limbo.

It passes, it really does, and since those days they seem to have worked the kinks out of the procedure, so it takes a lot less time that it once did. I hope you are all out and underway soonest

No, it wasn't. I think you'll be told, if you ask, the same thing I was told at interview. Random. The FOIA request also stated random.

Called the nvc and its the same ol bs. I am just so disgusted with the bs.

Well, we have been there 12 days now so hopefully soon it will be done. I heard back from the embassy and they do have open interviews this year so it was not the reason DOS gave me.

Ok, that knocks that idea out of the window. We changed addresses and I thought maybe this was the reason but I fear it is totally random. Similar to security checks on airplanes.
