  3. I am scheduled for a CR1 interview in December and since I would really like to make it to the US by Christmas I was wondering whether Frankfurt allows passport pickup the day after the interview or whether the passport HAS TO BE sent. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I know it's very iffy to get my flight changed on such short notice before Christmas etc. anyway, but I am hanging on to the idea of seeing my husband for Christmas.

hi, we have our interview in Frankfurt on December 4th. I emailed the embassy about picking up the visa in person and they told me it was at the discretion of the interviewing officer. I get the feeling that you need a good reason to pick it up as opposed to waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Job duties, family emergency, etc. We are hoping to do the same thing, but don't know if it will work. My fiancee is on an ESTA visa visit with me now and we want him to fly for interview and fly right back, but we can't make travel plans without knowing if he can pick it up. I will post here with results! Amanda

  4. Thank you very much! Good luck with your travels and upcoming marriage!

Thank you Amanda! Yes, I was stunned! We still don't have packet 4 but DOS said the consulate shipped it yesterday. dancin5hr.gif

    Rachel

You don't really need it. Just email the embassy, they will send the interview letter. That is all he needs to get into the US embassy. He just needs to bring his passport. The medical will be faxed to the embassy. GOOD LUCK - let us know the results on the 27th!!!! We filled out our packet 3 to say that Eric wanted to leave germany on dec 15th, that is why our interview is a little later than yours.

    Amanda

Yes!!!!! Congratulations!!! Same day as mine!!!! GOOD LUCK FOR US!!!!! smile.png

Congrats!! Good luck on the interview!!! WONDERFUL NEWS!

  5. Called DOS to check if our Packet 3 had reached the embassy because our tracking number still says our packet was being delivered and they gave me our interview date!!! Holy Moly!!! November 27th here we come! What a relief after waiting in AP at NVC!!!

Good luck to everyone that has had their interviews or still waiting!!

Rachel - AWESOME NEWS!!! That is really fast!! Good luck as you finish the last stage of this journey! So happy for you! Amandadancin5hr.gif

  7. Hi everybody,

I am kind of quiet because after receiving NOA2...nothing happened so far.

And apparently there wuill be a lot of changes obver the next weeks in the US-embassy in Frankfurt/Germany. So I just wait and see what's all about. Even the interview appointment has to be scheduled now online...

Oh, and i went to apply for my police record today too :-)

This is all the news, Take care!

    touchily

Hi! We are also waiting for an interview date in Frankfurt. They told me that the interview is scheduled by interview letter. Do you know where online i can schedule the appointment? They received our packet 3 on Monday of this week - we are hoping to hear something soon! Good luck to you! Amanda

  8. Hi, i have been following your thread and it has a lot of good information. In our recent packet 3, it told us NOT to schedule a medical appointment until after we have received the interview letter. My fiance plans on going to frankfurt doctor and walk in during their walkin hours. Do you know if this is correct?
    Thanks!! Amanda

  9. Hello all - I am new to this forum. I have a question about the end of the process. I just received my NOA1 today. Here is our issue - my fiance is am employee of a cruise ship, he has no real physical address in Germany, as he rents out his house and does not receive mail there. We don't trust the renters to keep/hold important mail and he is in the process of selling the property.

How is the final packet via Frankfurt communicated - via regular post in Germany or via email? We have set up a PO box via Mailboxde.com, where they will inform us if we receive mail and, for a fee, will forward that mail on to me in the US. I am worried we won't know about this final (important!) stage because of the mail issue. Any suggestions for us? He has no real mailing address on the ship - only email. Thanks in advance for your help!! In the I-129F, i used a mix of his physical (house) address and this mailboxde.com address, because i wasn't sure which might be used by the consulate in Frankfurt. I know i still have a long time to wait for adjudication, but this is weighing on my mind. Danke!

  10. He could get a US PO box next time he is in the USA. I'm not sure if you can set one up over the phone or internet. It's worth checking into. Or you can set up a German PO box for the both of you but the USCIS often has trouble updating overseas addresses.

I think i could set up a local PO box in his name - i have to call the Post Office to check that. Now that i already submitted the initial paperwork, how can i change his address? Also - is it for sure that they will mail him something? I have seen on other posts that people were emailed their interview info (medical forms, embassy info,etc.). Thanks!

  11. I've never heard of a major problem with any European country, but in case you want to see something more definite, I just filtered this to show Germany only so you can see what's actually happening, at least with members of this site...if they were all getting denied, I'm sure there'd have been something posted about it.

Thank you for this filter! I appreciate it!

  12. Harpa- I know you are right - he was just so freaked out when a US lawyer told him NO WAY!! He wanted to end it with me at that point.. How crazy. I thank you for your support!

For some reason, he thinks Germans will be scrutinized more closely. I told him it only matters that we want to marry - even if we never live in the US. He wants me to go to Germany, thinking that will be 'easier',
