its been five months for me too and no green card yet..
i simply paid the fees online as per instructions and didnt go to any local office to apply for it in person...
-
So i have been in states for more than four weeks now and have not received my green card in mail yet.
I paid the fees online through their system as per the instructions in the form i received after my interview. Do we have to do anything else? like visiting any local office to apply for the card in person?
How long does it typically take for green card to arrive by mail once in us?

Hello Folks,
I hope someone can share with personal experience or otherwise whether the Montreal Consulate makes a deal about picking up the passport in person after the immigration interview or not. In the guide for Montreal Consulate here http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Supplemental/MTL%20-%20Montreal.pdf
it states they MAY allow pickup of passport after immigration interview is the candidate is currently living in USA on a non immigration status.. in my case i am working in USA on a TN visa.. My hometown is Alberta, Canada..
Thanks..

hey guys.. can anyone confirm who recently got their interview letters that if they are required to updated their I485 since the tax information is really couple of years old? Does the interview letter asks for updated I485?
-
Guys...yippeeee after 21months of waiting...its 18 March for me! Thanks to all who encouraged me always.
i feel very happy for you and everyone else who got their interviews!.. all the best for your interview..
-
i understand that part but dont they require interview letter for medical as well?
P.S. I didnt intend to hijack this thread.. i appreciate the review of medisys considering i will be there for interview as well
-
can we do the medical before the interview?
i was up in montreal last week for work reasons and had a chance to get familiar with the city and downtown area.. stayed in downtown Marriot but hadnt had the chance to see the embassy

Interesting thread and thnk you for sharing the information people. I am in a similar situation where i will be moving to US within a month and would like to own a property within a year instead of renting and will hunt for mortgage options. Since i have no US credit history but i have canadian history of owning a mortgage for about 4 years now i will be leveraging on that to get cross border mortgage loans. I will try to contact TD and RBC and compare their services and rates among other US lenders if they are willing to lend. I do plan to put in 40% down if that helps.

So I have to say, two TD branch agents in the Vancouver area are detached from the reality of what their bank offers
yea
for those using TD Bank in the US and TD Canada Trust in Canada, do you have to call the hotline every time you want to transfer funds. Those using RBC said they can do this online with their accounts linked. To me that would be the much easier option. ((plan is to have a reoccurring amount transferred each pay day...))
In my mind I'm thinking not having access to a physical branch wouldn't be a problem (no TD Banks in MI), is there any reason I would need a branch? I try to do as much online as I can....
Thanks
yes unlike RBC we have to actually call a number but i haven't waited for more than 2 seconds every time i have called..
-
i do cross border banking with TD. I opened a Joint TD US bank account when i was visiting my wife down in New york..
i transfer funds easily through their cross border phone number , its very convenient.. no fees just the exchange rate which i get preferred as i also have a borderless account here in TD canada..
paying the fees went smoothly.. they need the routing number and account number i believe,,, i also have the two accounts linked so i can check the US account from my canadian account access..

yea i was expecting atleast 4-5 months forward movement earlier.. but since we didnt see any IL in the last week for any one other than Jan 2013, i kinda sensed there would be minimal movement if at all..
-
Indeed and their call center is just as useless as USCIS.
The only quick actions USCIS/NVC does is stealing our money as they are not providing a sufficient level of service for what we pay for. They are pure scumbags.
People think I'm negative but all I can say is that im realistic on NVC's competence.
The only realistic thing we all can hope for is if Immigration Reform passes this year because the scumbag politicians are rallying their base to get necessary votes for the mid-term elections.
yea who knows maybe this was just a way to make some money..
make PD current.. lots of people will apply and will generate some cash also keep them busy for next little while.. aholes..
-
do hell with NVC! took so much time in processing/scheduling interviews!
-
congrats Mahadi!
i just called NVC... no interview letter yet...
-
lets hope Visa Bulletin brings good news and then there are slots available for us in our respective countries' embassies
-
i will try my best!

I'm curious c2a, do you really not have an interview date yet or have you just not filled it in on your signature and the spreadsheet. I see that others in Canada who received their CC after you, already have an interview booked and I'm wondering how that worked.
thanks!
its coz I'm in F2A category not IR1/CR1.. my petitioner is a permanent resident not citizen.. which to me is not a fair rule.. but whats fair in this world anyways?? the problem is that if i don't get interview in june i may face a possible retro in july which means my priority date will not be current and i can't be issued a visa..
how about yourself? waiting for case complete or interview date..
