  1. I am a Filipina and my now husband is a US citizen. When I was still in the Philippines I did help him with expenses while he's on a visit. I also had enough savings to cover all my k1 visa preparation and expenses. He purchased for my plane ticket to be with him and marry him here in the US.

Now that I am here in the US, he voluntarily paid for my green cards fees. I currently work telecommute and I am the one who spend for our food with no complaints. I am also taking classes and he pays for my tuition fee too... I felt bad that I am not helping much with expenses and I am still applying for jobs locally...I understand his sentiments sometimes...

I admit that we had arguments but not to the point that I have to go back to my country to escape from the challenges and hardships of being an immigrant. I am still learning with the culture, some people may sounded harsh that they didn't mean to and since I am the alien here, of course, I have to adapt. There are many good and positive things to look forward into than negativity.

I am soft-spoken and very sensitive but my mind is very wide and open and I am built with lots of patience. I was once or twice too upset and cried extremely for 3 mins, of course he was trying to calm me down, saying sorry. I never hurt him physically or bad-mouth him, not my nature. The only harsh thing I always said is to wish I die accidentally - that made him feel sad so deeply so I stopped saying it - not very healthy. :D I am starting to learn to just take it easy and discuss things without arguments because in the end we still love each other.

When it comes to his x-wife, I never felt jealous or mad at him, they can talk on the phone and send email once in a while - no problem. I trust him fully and he will never do anything to hurt me, that's for sure. Thanks for reading.

  2. I'm already here in the United States. I entered as a K-1.

My POE was at the SFO on Sept 12, 2013.

    Got married after a month.
Sent my AOS & I-765 packet on December 9, 2013 (3 days before my I-94 expires).
Had my Biometrics done on January 7, 2014.
I received my EAD Card on February 20, 2014.
March 4, 2014 was my AOS interview and APPROVED. (None of the documents I prepared for the inteview was collected BUT the IO looked at our photos I arranged in a scrapbook/photobook)

My 2-year conditional GREEN CARD is in transit now and will be delivered on Monday, March 10, 2014.

Thank you all very much who shared their experiences and to Hank_ for all the step-by-step information and for answering my queries when I was confused. I also thank you to all who shared their comments on my posts.

Kudos to you all and God Bless !!

  3. Serious? You headed to the airport without your CFO completed?

    oops8rh.gif

No not me, it was the *lady* from my story who waited 4 months before leaving the county without CFO completed. I asked her if she did read on the paper along with the VISA packet about the GCP, she said YES but never bother to ask or research. rofl.gif

  4. ... and I got the Sticker and Cert with no hassle except being sick huh2.gif

*Once upon a time there was a lady with flight sched at around 6AM today, Friday but she turned away from the NAIA because she had no CFO sticker. At the end of the day full of FUN, she is happy now. yes.gif

Moral lesson: RESEARCH, READ, READ and READ good.gif

  6. Hi everyone!

My fiance and I have been stressing out coz he was given Class A for his medical. It wasn't stamped on his passport but I think he saw it on a paper with his picture when they were giving him his results. He had a psych eval for admitting drug use. sad.png Is this an automatic denial? I seriously hope not. sad.png

I've read this thread about k1 denial because of drug use - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/86081-denied-today-worst-day-of-my-life/

  7. I studied ESL (Engslish as a Second Language) course in De La Salle 2 years ago, 2 hours per day for 3 months and I learned a lot specially the pronunciation. Before I studied ESL, I pronounced the "outages" as "out ages"rofl.gif

  8. We didn't book my visa interview appointment last night because we had to make sure we have all the info correct. Today, my petitioner called this number (214) 571-1600 I gave to him, the Call Center Agent from the VISA UNIT said there is no priority date for K1. rofl.gif AND, he instructed that we don't use ANY of the dates on our NOA's at all. The Call Center Agent says we are to just use: 10-10-10 or 10-10-2010.

  9. sorry, I meant I've been searching about the "what is the priority date" and I found posts from previous applicants asking the same thing, some posts were 2 years old and the ustraveldocs site didn't make any effort to say that the priority date and received date are the same.
