  1. I am the USC my husband is from India he had his interview may 7 ,2014 we are still in ap .. to this day we still don't know WHY ...they never gave a reason ceac has updated our case about a dozen times we were told they sending it back to USCIS but every time I call Nvc or USCIS they tell our case is still in India yes we have red flags but when went to India I lived his culture for 1 year I have been back in states for close 2 years now we talk on Feb n Skype a lot but I can't afford to keep flying to India and risk losing my job that I need to have to support my hubby when he gets here so what are we suppose to do it has me n him both confused

  2. We got married in India under the Gujarat act 2006. Although we under administrative processing we were able to register our marriage with the court in jetpur he added me to his bank account and to his passport and I was able to get a family visa for return trips to India based on our marriage cert but I think because of a few other red flags are why we are under ap.I'm 19 years older than him and previously divorced but 1 child that's in his 20's

  3. No fraud to be found in our case I even lived in India with him and his family for 1 year I only returned home to get us a place to live and a job and then plus my sister is battling cancer you don't know our whole case just what I posted here to get some advice but qw have red flags such as age diff and I have been divorced before other than that we are a genuine couple who love each other and want a life together

  4. Me and my hubby are in the same situation you are in but I went to India Oct 2012 we married in India filed i130 petition in march 2013 had interview may 7 2014 now administrative process for the same exact reasons you gave told our case would go back to USCIS but so far its still in India I am back in the USA working 2 full time jobs to maintain the guideline for income and don't know what to do now about our case

  5. Hello I am a USC female I married my husband in India DEC 31 2012 he just had his interview in Mumbai on may 7 2014 it was a horrible interview which put us in ap.. the officers kept him for 10 hours no breaks for drinks bathroom or lunch no specific reason for ap.. verbally told him cause he is Hindu and I'm Christian make our marriage not legal but it is legal cause we registered it with the court in India then it was about our age diff I'm 19 years older than him but if it doesn't matter to us it shouldn't matter to anyone his family and friends all accepted me as well as mine accepted him but they returned his passport said they were sending our case back to USCIS but just 2 weeks ago they did a field visit to his home I have sent letters to house of rep and Nvc and USCIS about the unprofessional treatment of my husband qw have been in this visa process from 3/17/13-- til current

  6. This is really frightening me. I am also Catholic and my husband is Hindu. However, we did just a standard court marriage in Mumbai under the Special Marriage Act.

I agree, the Special Marriage Act is specifically supposed to ALLOW marriages between people of different religions without either of them having to give up their religion. What right does the embassy have to say that because I was raised Catholic that I MUST belong to a Catholic church?! I put that I was Catholic on my app, but I am Non-practicing. Now I'm terrified that bad things are going to happen because I put a religion down! This is terrible!

  7. My husbands interview in Mumbai was may 7 after the initial interview my husband was asked for a private interview with an american male who was rude to my husband claimed that because my husband is Hindu and I was raised catholic but I don't belong to a catholic church that our marriage is in valid how can this be the courts in India would have never registered our marriage if it was invalid he is from jetpur we married religious ceremony for respect of his family to me this is discrimination and it says so in the special marriage act of India now we are in ap . Not knowing what's going happen now

  8. I am also married to an Indian I lived with him and his family since Oct 10 2012-sept 2013 we got married in India with traditional Hindu ceremony to honor his family we are now case complete and for interview to be scheduled .. now I work 2 jobs and provided us a home I can't just leave 2 jobs to go back to India for interview but my understanding is consulate 99% of the time have the decision way before the inrerview
