Paid the $165 Immigrant Visa Fee today. It was kind of confusing.
My husband will make his POE at DFW International Airport Jan 24.

We married in Mexico in Oct '13.
We filed the I-130 Feb 5, 2014. Our interview was Jan 7, 2015 and we were approved.
We did not use a lawyer. I would not recommend using a lawyer unless you have a complicated situation.
Good luck!

Yes, we used the same office on Monday, January 6th.

For the record, we are approved for the CR1 visa!

Ciudad Juarez, Mexico peeps:
This is what was asked during my husband's interview. I will add a review later today after work. Hope it helps.
Who is petitioning you?
Where did you meet?
How did you meet?
When did you get married?
Have you visited the USA?
With a visa or without?
Have you had any problems with the police in Mexico? -
ROBBIEG!!!!!!! so happy for you. Congratulations
Thank you so much!

My husband had his medical done today in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

Questions: Did NVC work today? And I got a letter today from them saying that "your email address has been updated" and it has all the info about our case. I never changed or updated my email address, it's always been the same. Why did I get this letter in the Mail? Anyone get this after their cc?
I got that too right after we got case complete and we had made no changes to anything.

I don't think an authorized user can build credit. They are just allowed to use the account of the account holder.
Authorized users can use a credit card just like the account holder, but the credit is only in the account holders name.
I would look into a joint credit card or a small loan as someone else suggested.
-
We got case complete about a week before the 60 days were to end.
-
Building credit in the United States is very beneficial.
Those with higher credit scores get lower interest rates for homes and cars which saves you a lot of money in interest.
Since you are married and your husband has credit it may not be as critical for you, but in my opinion it would be beneficial to you both if you also established credit and maintained a high credit score.

Hi guys!!!
so... I just came back from the medical exam, everything went well apparently.
the doctor asked me if I drink and I said yes... on ocassiion and if I use drugs, which I once tried weed per peer pressure but I just didn't care for it and never tried it again.
I was a little worried because I was being send over to the psychologist for an evaluation, but... psychologist said that she wouldn't give any recommendations to the consulate that everything looked ok.
has anyone had an experience like that before?
I'm interviewing in Ciudad Juarez
Thanks!
Hey friend. Yes, I have read reviews about what happens when you disclose any type of previous experiences with drugs. That matches up exactly with what others with the same experience have shared.
Good luck! It's going to happen soon!

Can I just say THANKS?
Where would we be without dwheels76?
The Interview thread is so informative and well maintainted. Contrary to the NVC thread managed by a different personality.
This thread is helpful, supportive and invaluable. Thank you dwheels76!

Congratulations RobbieG, good to see you again, and I'm happy you're so close!
Question: I see you knew of your interview date before status changed to "Ready". How long from when it turned to "In Transit" and you knew the interview date? Thanks in advance.
Hi friend!
We knew the interview date on Dec 8 or 9 and it changed to "In Transit" on Dec 19.
Congrats my friend! Great news!! Good luck for your interview, but you won't need it...you will do GREAT! I am hoping for a mid February interview, and a honeymoon trip to Montreal !
HI! I hope you get it sooner rather than later!
My husband will do amazing on the Interview day. I just know it! Thanks!
POSITIVE thoughts!
Submitting documents to NVC as 'ONE package'

We sent both the AOS and IV packages together after the AOS showed "Paid" in the portal.
We had no issues with doing so nor did many friends that I have here on VJ. It saved us some time.
