Don't call, it's a waste of time. Even on the day our case was entered in the system and assigned the case number they always told me the same thing "wait 20 25 business days....."
Send an email to NVC at nvcinquiry@state.gov and ask to register your case for email notifications. Include your names, dob's, email address, and USCIS case number.
We received the email notification the same day the case was entered, just after i had called and asked again.
I'm not sure they actually look it up when you call. They just say "wait..."

Or is the sponsor actually "person 1"? and therefore you would need to put your own income on 6c (per the instructions for form I-864), then total all sponsors (persons 1 through 4) in #10?

We got an email today that NVC has input our case (I registered for email notifications as soon as the case was received from USCIS). I went to the website indicated for payment of AOS fee and the AOS fee invoice and the DS-261 electronic filing were already there. I took care of both of them and it says wait 2-3 business days for the fee to change from "in process" to "Paid."
I had called a few times and as recent as the day it was entered at NVC but always got the "wait 20-30 business days..." response. I really don't see the reason to have been calling every day, like it states in the shortcut guides, since one can register for email notifications even before the case is input.
Maybe the process is more streamlined these days?

Go here:
https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx
If you registered when you were supposed to you can get online verification and print it out at this website!

He can request transcripts from the IRS, which might show something useful. If he hasn't filed, but was supposed to, now is the time to own up and file back returns. If he wasn't required to file, probably some statement showing that and signed by him. Letter from CO is really good.
But, in the end, you might want to think about a joint sponsor. Just to be safe.

Congrats! Good luck!!

If you've left your fiance, your only choice to return to your home country. Overstaying is not an option because that is illegal.

Did you search the forum for answers? check out the Guides section in the toolbar at the top, lots of info there!!

Try Eva Air, from Seattle. I hear they're outstanding.

So...this government shut-down. I'm guessing I-130 approval doesn't fall under "essential"
Uscis says all offices are running, I think because it is a fee for service, it pays for itself with the maney we pay so not dependent on fed govt so much.

Right now your option is the K-1 fiancé visa. If you get married it's the IR-1/CR-1.
Under the "Guides" section above you can find all the procedures for each. Also check the processing timelines. Your big gay visa procedure will be no different nor take longer than any other, as long as you file everything timely and get the right documents in (this site will help ensure that) . We filed ours within a few weeks (July 17) after the defeat of DOMA. Just start on it ASAP!!

Aside from the visa logistics - If it's that Carnival cruise from Galveston to Jamaica/Grand Cayman/Cozumel, I've been on it and it's horrible. You will not enjoy your honeymoon if you do it. The food is cafeteria quality, it is extremely noisy day and night, there are no shows - just the cruise director up on stage trying to be funny, drinks are watered down and overpriced, "comedians" are vulgar to the point of obscenity.
Anyway, that was my experience.

I'd say the evidence since 2009 should be good, if you have a lot of other stuff than the phone bills, even the phone bills should be good because you have them. Do you have cancelled checks where you paid the phone bills? or copy of your bank statement showing the transaction. That should be OK.

Hi,
Wow, so many of us! My husband is Argentine. We got ou I-130 NOA1 on July 18. I returned to the USA a few weeks ago to start working/setting up a home. I got permanent residence in Argentina after our marriage, mostly automatic, I could get citizenship there after 3 years, but we're grateful for the fall of DOMA and the chance to live both here and there eventually.
Friend me on my profile if you'd like!

If you're really unsure how to proceed even after reading the information here then a lawyer would probably be a good option for you. For some people these crazy rules and procedures are easy to decipher but for others, that's why there are immigration lawyers! Don't worry what other people say, you need to do what's best for you guys!!

Answer: Ct voted 60/40 for Obama and Ct got exactly what they voted for. A bunch of poorly paying part time jobs and 8.1% unemployment. Innocently wondering how is that hope and change working out for y'all?
Try Utah. Unemployment 4.6% and next time think before you vote!
Ha! That was how George Bush ran Texas and then the nation. Don't blame Obama for Bush's legacy.
(AND, before you reply, I lean Republican on most issues... but with my eyes wide open)

1. Official birth cert from state you were born in... then send it to the state's secretary of state, very simple, cheap and doesn't take long depending on your state.
2. I don't know.
3. Is it a residence certificate from the US? or from Germany? Here in Argentina they have residence certificates which are obtained from the local police precinct. Pay $10 pesos and they deliver it to your residence the next day (to make sure you live there).

Tbone is correct. That's how we did it when we filed a few months ago.
