    Hello guys,

I've recently had a big change in my plans of going through the NVC, after having an opportunity to talk directly to consular officers that conduct the visa interviews and when I told them my plan of coming alone to the US to reestablish the domicile, start a job and then filing all the documents, they said it's a perfectly fine idea, good enough for them. The worst part I learned is that the interview wait time has risen from the usual 1 month to 6-8 months, currently. This made my and wife have a change of plans and we have a joint sponsor lined up that will solve the income issue and let us possibly go through the process without being apart for almost a year. The question is the domicile. We learned that the US embassy in Poland is pretty liberal about this matter, but still, we need to get pass through NVC first, and I assume, that they might have bigger requirements for the main sponsor who has spent almost all his life outside the US and thus doesn't have any ties with the US currently. I see some people asking questions about the domicile, who have some ties with the US maintained, but I have none. I'm going to travel to the US in next two weeks to get all paperwork related to the joint sponsor done and I was thinking what could I do during that 7 days of my visit to have domicile reestablished as much as possible. What a consular officer also told us, is that after many enough rejections from NVC, the case will be moved to the embassy, for them to make the decision, however, waiting few 2 months periods doesn't seem like a great idea.

I submitted N400 since May 2020 and all I got yet was a biometrics appointment May 2021. No sign of interview and people that submitted way after me are already citizen. This is soo frustrating.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Right now the receipt date for a case inquiry is April 16th, 2020. Try to

monitor that, if you don’t hear back from them and your date comes up contact USCIS as soon as you’re eligible. Best of luck!

I would not believe the officer. They are misleading. They like to say things just to get you out of the room. Yes there will be oath ceremonies in mid December. It's not "the next".  Instead there are are small ceremonies at the S.P. River Center throughout months of Oct, Nov, and Dec. Officers frequently lie. But Good luck. I hope you become a citizen soon.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us so it happens soon. Cheer up! It seems to be the final stretch.

    Hello Everyone,

I just logged into my portal. I filed OCT 2020 and it showed an estimated completion of November 2021. Today it shows estimated completion August 2021.

Could it be they are going to try rush alot of applications to get everyone's oath done in the summer of 2021, I hear they are pushing the oaths back months for some ( sorry about that :( ) to accommodate for the requirements to do the outdoor ceremonies.

Mine just changed to completion in July 2021, I believe it was October before.

If you remember, how long did it take in the MN office between the time when the bottom estimate of wait time for next step changed to "We are taking longer than expected to process your case" and the time you or your husband got your interview notification? Thanks

I filed in September and I haven't had biometrics yet. On the website it says "We are taking longer than expected to process your case". 🤷‍♀️

  6. I suppose that there are no stupid questions ...

I'm applying for citizenship, I'm married to a US citizen but I've been living in the USA for nearly 6 years so I just decided to apply based on the length of my residence.
One marriage, no children, my spouse doesn't station abroad, I didn't travel outside the US for more than 6 months, no arrest/convictions.

Did I determine right that the only supporting documents that I need is my GC and tax transcripts from past 5 years???

I just noticed that USCIS released data for n400 in mid april for oct 1st to dec 31st , it seems things have improved slightly for twin cities office. The pending applications have shown a decrease for the first time since 2015. I have added the info the to spreadsheet.

Just received my approval letter in the mail today!

Maybe it's a stupid question and it doesn't matter now but why I have never received any approval letter?
My online status changed, they produced the card, I got it in mail couple days later, no letters.
