  1. We filed DCF in Mexico and I put my Mexican address as my residence but my US address as my mailing address as well as the US as my country of domicile. In order to file DCF here, I needed to demonstrate that I am a resident of Mexico and am residing here with my husband, so that's why Mexico is my place of residence. But, in order to sponsor him, I needed to demonstrate that I have maintained domicile in the US so included evidence showing I am still domiciled in the US. Good luck!!

    Hi jenyadenise,

I might do that. Will contact the Embassy in South Africa and see what they say. I know each country has their own DCF rules, so I am confused on what S.A. wants.

  2. You should put your address in the USA, unless you have a joint-sponsor, as you need to show domicile if you're the sole financial sponsor. Take a look at this: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html#3 (it just happened to be in my clipboard from a similar query from someone in the UK).

    Hi lost at sea,

I have a joint sponser my dad. What should I put?

Thanks for the link! Will look over. This is so confusing to me!

  3. Hello,

Thanks everyone for the help I gotten so far!

I am living overseas and will be filing DCF in South Africa.

Part 4 of form I-864 it says: Information on the Sponser:

Would I put my address in South Africa? Or my address in the USA? It's For Mailing Address and Place of Residence.

Does it matter? I would like everything to go to the USA. But, I don't know if it matters if you do DCF.

When we move to the USA I don't want to miss any forms that is why I am worried about the address.

    Thank you!!
