  1. So, I am a little confused. I received my NOA1 for the Adjustment of status/EAD/AP last night. The ones for EAD and AP show an acceptance date of 06/27/2014. But, the one for the Adj of Status shows 06/30/2014. The one for adjustment of status also states that it will be processed at the Nebraska Service Center. I have looked and looked and I do not see anybody with this service center listed. Does anyone know if this is a service center that normally processes these applications? And why are the acceptance or NOA1 dates different for the forms?

Thanks for any information in advance! :)

  2. Good Morning,

My fiance was approved at the Barbados embassy last week! :) Yaay

So, now my question is..........He received a paper from the embassy explaining his approval and how to send his passport for the visa stamp. On the same paper, it states that we must pay a $165 US fee online before entering the USA. I have heard from someone that the K-1 is exempt from paying this fee. Can anyone verify if we have to pay this or if others had to pay this before coming to US?

    Thank you!

  3. DS 160 Form is all that was requested for our case in Packet 3. We will be going through Barbados embassy. But, we only have to complete that form and print our confirmation page, which has a barcode on it.

And we actually just received our packet 3 yesterday. There is a date of October 6th or 7th that if your interview is not scheduled or packet 3 has not been sent to you by this date, they require DS 160 to replace the other forms.

  4. So, I am needing some help!! I got approved on 9/24 and I got my case number from NVC last night. I am the US citizen petitioning for my fiance in Dominica.

I have reviewed the guides and even looked at the NVC website. Can someone please tell me what do I need to do next? Is there a fee that has to be paid through the NVC?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!

  5. NOA2!!! We got approved last night :)

Now I am just super nervous because we were unable to get a copy of his shot records from the health center. We were going to go ahead and start getting some of the shots. But, now I am scared to do so because I know some of the vaccines can affect the test results at the medical exam.

    Any suggestions??

And to those still waiting, I had checked cases over 1,000 numbers away from mine, and none had been touched. So, I honestly wouldnt pay any attention to the cases around you.

  6. Ok so I have not had much luck finding people going through the Barbados embassy. But my problem is, my fiance has been told by the health center in Dominica that they are unable to locate his health/shot record. Will they have to give him ALL of the shots that day? Or is the lack of record going to be a problem? Any advice would be appreciated! We are still waiting for noa2. I'm just trying to be proactive.

  7. We were transferred on the 8th but we have not revived official notification by mail or email. Only the uscis website is updated.

How long did it take everyone to resource notification?

I got two emails the same day as transfer. Both of them just saying it had been transferred. Then, I received another email yesterday saying it had been received and was being processed by Texas service center. Also, yesterday when I got home the hard copy of the third email was in the mail box.

  8. Which website were you looking at? Some of them are just worded really badly. smile.png

Co-sponsors for finance are allowed for K1 in some countries and not others. I believe the 100% vs. 125% for the I-134 is at the discretion of the interviewing officer, and again, some countries specify one over the other always.

We will be going through Barbados. I have looked through the forum for that embassy. But, I can't seem to find anything giving me info about cosponsors. Any suggestions?

  9. You're going to have to show that you can supply enough income to support your fiance at 125% of the poverty level or more. The 100% level is only for those who are in the U.S. Armed Forces. (See Form I-864P). The guidelines for Form I-864 Affidavit of Support are used by the consulates; this makes sense because once your spouse applies for AOS, the I-864 is required.

The I-134 isn't ever required, but can be useful to allay public charge concerns. In your case, it is advisable to use it. Since you cannot meet the 125% requirement yourself, both you and your joint sponsor should prepare Forms I-134 (with supporting evidence) so your fiance can hand them to the consular officer at the interview.

    Good luck!

Ok, I was told that the primary guidelines that are followed for the K-1 is the I-134 which follows 100% of the poverty level. Technically, sponsors are not supposed to be allowed for the K-1 visa. So, what I was trying to figure out was which form I should send in. On all government websites, it states that the petitioner must meet 100% of the poverty level for the k-1 visa with the I-134 support document.

    Have I missed something???

  10. Ok, so I know that the basic rule for the K-1 visa is to follow the I-134.

I meet this requirement for income.

I am a household of 3 (me and my two daughters) plus my fiance of course would make it 4.

My income is almost $26,000.00 per year.

So I meet the requirement for the 100% guideline.

    MY QUESTION IS THIS!!!!!

I have been told that some embassies go by the 125% guidelines even for the K-1 Visa. I am trying to figure out the best course of action from people who might have been in my situation. I will not meet the guidelines at this point for the 125%.

We have agreed that my mother will sponsor him when the time comes and my income would not be sufficient. She makes well over $60,000 per year and has been on her job for over 35 years. She meets the requirements (even though I know it doesnt actually work that way) to cover all 4 of us and her and my father easily.

So, what should I send with him to his interview? Just the I-134? Should I go ahead and let my mother fill out her I-864 to show our intent? I just hate the thought of them thinking "Hmm so her income meets 100% but what will she do when it is time to meet 125%.

Can somebody please give me some advice here on what I should do or if anyone has experience with this type of situation?
