Lety and Ed got a reaction from jackie_chelis in CDJ - DS-260 How many? One for Fiancee K1 and One for Child K2?
Hi Christian,
You definitely need to complete one DS-260 for each child and of course one for your fiancee. When you first log in to the state department website https://ceac.state.gov/iv/ to completed the DS-260 forms, you should see your fiancee and each child listed on the page right after you log in.
We actually now have our appointments scheduled for the ASC and the consulate.
I'll give you a couple of tips...
1. When you log in to the https://usvisa-info.com/en-MX/selfservice/ss_country_welcome site to pay your visa fees and to schedule appointments you must first "create account" there is a link at the top of the page to do this. Here is the page https://usvisa-info.com/en-MX/selfservice/login
2. You will be asked to enter the applicant's name. This will be the name and information for your fiancee in Mexico. DO NOT enter the U.S. Petioners name information here. See the attached file CSC Visa Information Service - New Account_2013-06-25_22-48-00.png
3. Make sure you enter all of the requested information correctly. It is very important that you get the passport number correct. I recommend entering the data on the form and then before clicking the submit button, that you take a screen capture and then save the screen capture. That way if you do make a mistake, you will still be able to log in with the information you entered as shown in the screen capture. (To do a screen capture, press ALT-Prtsc and then open your paint program and click on paste. Make sure to save the image for future reference.)
4. VERY IMPORTANT - eventually you will see a place to add additional family members. It is very important that you do this before you schedule an appointment. You will save yourself a lot of trouble if you add family members prior to scheduling an appointment. If you try to add family members after you have already scheduled the appointment then you will have to cancel your already scheduled appointment and then reschedule it.
IF YOU GET TO THE PART WHERE YOU PAY FOR THE VISAS AND YOU HAVE NOT ADDED YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS THEN YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR!!! YOU SHOULD GO BACK AND ADD YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS (K2 Children) BEFORE PAYING AND SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS.
5. After you have added all of your family members then you can pay. Once you pay, you can see the calendar with available consulate interview dates. You can now select your date for your interview. One thing I didn't know, is that first the website had me pick the date for the Consulate Interview. I picked a date and then went on to pick the ASC appointment date. I actually then found out there were only a limited number of available dates for the ASC appointment that would work for us.
6. Somewhere as your are going through the site, I think just after you create an account the website will ask you a question about purpose of travel or visit to consulate, I can't quite remember how it was worded, but pick the answer "IMMIGRANT CONSULATE HAS ASKED YOU TO SCHEDULE - FIANCE OF US CITIZEN"
Hope this is helpful.
Best Regards,
Ed
