  1. I just had NVC on the phone. The lady told me that they received my petition but haven't started working on it yet. :crying: It was sent to them on Feb 2nd... Why are they so slow.Or maybe am I a bit too impatient?

    First: :time:

I imagine it just might be because they process millions of requests every year and they may actually have several hundred thousand yet to be processed that got there ahead of yours.

Sounds odd Kweli... My file arrived at NVC last Monday & left by noon on Thursday. It's at the US Embassy in Manila as of last night here (Wed morning there).

I might would call and check with someone else. So they couldn't track it by your Case# I assume?

Tell me Patos have you or your fiance received a confirmation letter after NVC send your petition to the consulate?

Yes the notice came in the snail mail yesterday. The actual letter was drafted on the 16th.

  3. Check this out JCLX. It's from the VJ guide section but I figured I'd save you some time in looking for it

    IMPORTANT!

Make TWO copies of the entire package before you send it in. This includes checks too. You want to have a perfect replica of the package you are sending in. Retain ALL originals. The USCIS has the right to check them by issuing an RFE (Request For Evidence). If you receive an RFE, follow the direction exactly, and make two copies of what you sent back.

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

    1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

    2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

    3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

    4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a public notary), with all required supporting evidence. Some consulates may require a different form. Some require an I-864. If yours does, send that instead. You can call or email the consulate to check. Additionally, the consulate will notify your fiance(e) via mail correspondence which they prefer. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

    5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these asap after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134/I-864. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134.

    6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

    * You retain all originals like your birth certificate, passport etc. Send her copies of the complete I-129F package that you mailed in.*

    Hope this helps :D

  4. Hey Jasman, others.... do you have a phone # to the Embassy in Manila (and any number punching shortcuts to hit) so I could talk with a live person there and not a machine?

My fiancee left the PHIL Jan 20th & lives in Canada now. Our file was at NVC this past Monday & they said wait until Tue to make the request for Embassy change to Vancouver. Called Tue, they said fax a request. Called Wed to check on it they said we dont have it but fax another attn PI SuperVisor Sue 2nd request. Called Thursday and they said too late its gone to Manila.

I dont have any idea how long this will delay matters. I am skeptical but hope that I can get in touch with someone at the Embassy in Manila who will actually get up from their chair and walk the 10 or 15 steps to make the note on the file so it can be turned right around to the Vancouver Canada Embassy.

I suspect our file will go in the que in Manila and sit for 4-6 months until they send the packet out only to discover she doesnt live there anymore. Then it will take another 2 or 3 weeks to get to Vancouver where we have to get in the que there for another 2 or 3 month wait for them to mail out the packet to her in Edmonton.

  5. Yes, it won't be long now. I just rec'd my NOA2 Feb 2 (email) paper copy Feb 6 (USPS). My 129f was sent off just a few days before yours, although a different service center but still on averages it wont be long now before your NOA2 at best or an RFE at worst, hopefully the first
