    This is our second try at a K-1 visa. The first time, we thought about marriage in the Philippines and voluntarily canceled our request. However, we have changed our mind and decided to go ahead with a new K-1 application.

    My wife has her conditional green card along with a 1 year extension letter.  She wants to travel to the Philippines to visit her parents.  She went last summer before the conditional green card expired and before she got the extension letter.  Does anyone know if she will have any problems re-entering the US.  Her one year letter is good until September 2018.

      She shouldn't as far as I know, just speaking about my experience though. My 2-year green card expired in August 2015. I went to the Philippines and Canada for a visit three months after the expiration. I showed both my expired green card and extension letter every time  I was asked to. I made it back to the US without a problem.

      Thank you.  She's visiting her parents for about three weeks from the middle of December to the first week in January.  Again, thank you for confirming what I thought was true.
