  1. Here's what our status changed to this morning! No interview, but did receive the potential interview waiver in the mail maybe a couple months ago. If i understand that correctly, approval?!?!

    Decision

On April 24, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

  3. Hi all,

My question is in regards to filing income taxes for K1/K2. K1 and I are married and have been since October. K1 has a SSN, however K2 does not yet until EAD is approved (hopefully any day now). I am of the understanding that I may file as Married filing jointly given our marriage as detailed on page 13 of this IRS document http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040.pdf (line 2, last paragraph). However, I am curious about filing K2, and not finding much information in this regards. K2 will most likely have an SSN at time of filing. Any one have past experience in this regards?

    Thanks,

    okieag

  4. We are gathering all our forms to file for AOS.

My fiance (now Wife) came to from the UK to the US on her K1 visa and her daughter came on a K2 visa.

We're a bit confused... Does the K2 applicant need to file any forms at this point? or is it just the K1 applicant who needs to submit the forms?

We just want to make sure we're doing everything right.. Thanks for any help.

  5. Thanks for all the responses. I have been continueing my investigations and came across this on the london embassy website:

Will my British driver's license be adequate for renting a car?

The U.S.A. has an agreement with most countries whereby the renter's full national driving license may be used for a period of up to one year in the U.S.A. This applies to the full U.K. driving license. Provisional licenses are not acceptable.

Most car rental companies require that you have held a full license for at least one year, regardless of age. The minimum age for renting a car is normally 21 although it can be as high as 25. Often an additional charge is levied on drivers who are under 25 years of age.

International Driving Permits (see: postofffice.co.uk) are generally not required in the U.S.A but it is helpful to carry one. If they are taken, they are only valid in conjunction with a full national driving license. They should not be accepted on their own. It is recommended that drivers who possess a full national license that is in script other than Roman, i.e. Cyrillic or Arabic, should also obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP).

Young drivers may wish to obtain an International Driving Permit to use as a photo ID, in place of a passport, for entry into bars and nightclubs where the minimum age for entry is 21 years.

If you have endorsements on your license, do check with your rental company that these do not present a problem.

We suggest that you check the requirements of your prospective automobile rental company by contacting them direct.

  6. My now wife (married last weekend!) arrived in the US 5 weeks ago on K1 visa.

She would like to drive now.. rather than wait until she can apply for an OK licence.

After much googling we are unclear whether or not she is allowed to drive legally (with the correct insurance of course) on her UK licence? Technically at this moment in time she is still a 'visitor'.

Any thoughts or advice? Does she have to wait until she can apply for an Oklahoma licence or can she drive now on her UK licence?

  7.

Thanks for answering even though you showed your current salary/employment letter and pay stubs (how many did you provide?) I just started working in July 2013 so I only have 4.

Did you even provide last year's taxes or w-2's? or you didn't provide that since you felt that your current salary would work.

I was going to list my income from my 2012 taxes and show my stubs and employment letter so they can evaluate my current salary too.

Guessing this is what you did as well.

Now I have a problem with getting a bank letter because I closed my old account when I lost my previous job in Feb 2013 and I traveled to London after that. I wasn't sure how long I would stay; I have those bank statements for that time Feb 2013, from that bank that I closed it shows over 3,000$ in savings and I have proof that I traveled to London from Feb 2013-April 2013. I was 3 months without a job when I got back April May June 2013 and I just started working in July.

Would it be pointless to show my previous jobs pay stubs along with my current job stubs and salary?

I just opening my new bank account with another other bank and will get direct deposit on my next check and will add some cash I have saved but I don't think the bank will do a letter for me since I'm a new member "not sure" it won't show much just the direct deposit and maybe couple hundred in savings. Will this be okay to show, the ones from Feb 2013 which I still have some of that cash saved at home until I put it in new account and the statements from the new bank if I don't get the letter? 0_o

I provided 4 paystubs, but i also had my current employer write a letter stating my employment and since i'm a salaried employee, my salary was included in the letter. The officer did see this form apparently, and accepted it.

I actually had my bank write a formal statement about my current balance in my main checking account, and the duration of the account, however it was never shown at the interview. Same with my latest tax returns, turned it in with only a few months income, but it seems that the paystubs/salary letter was plenty.

  8. well update. Fiancee and I did the big no-no last week and booked travel for next saturday (9/7/13) for K1/K2. We've been sweating out the visa delivery ever since the interview. We knew that both were "issued" 2 days after the interview and that the K2 had documents being delivered to a DX depot. We had no clue about the K1's documents.

We were able to pick up the K2 package today from the DX depot, and low and behold there are documents for both k1 and k2!! Our i-129f and k1 process is complete! See youuuu soooon!! dancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gif

And i truly hope all you folks involved in this thread get your documents in time!

  9. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/447661-recent-interviewees-do-you-have-your-passport-yet/page-12

Up to 12 pages now regarding how terrible the process has been to get the visa back after it has been issued after the US embassy in London made the change of couriers as well as the online MRV payment.

My fiancee's visa has been issued for 1 week on CEAC, no word yet on where the passport/visa are. It's truly a shame....and my story pales in comparison to many

  10. At the interview re: I-134 the officer evaluated my current job paystubs and a letter from employer with my current salary. I recently finished school and only had 4 months of work on my last tax year.

I also submitted a bank letter, etc as required per the I-134 guidelines...

I thought about a co-sponsor, but felt as if my current salary documentation would prove my income sufficiently, and i was correct.

  11. So my question is this: Did the K1 and K2 passports come in the same package or were they seperate packages?

Reason i ask is this... We know the K2 passport and visa package is at DX depot waiting on fiancee to pick up on Tuesday, yet we have no updates regarding the K1 passport and visa package.

Fiancee made a good point that there is a chance both passports may be in the same package since much of the documentation regarding the K2 would be tied into the K1 documentation.....or maybe we're just thinking too much.

    Thanks for any responses!

  12. I join everyone in frustration with this waiting...ours has shown "issued" since 8/14 and nothing yet. :(

My fiance was able to get ahold of someone in the embassy today that was able to confirm his visa left the Embassy but wasn't able to tell him what day...we're assuming it's today. The courier said if they do get it today (it's already 2pm there and they don't have it yet), he may be able to pick it up tomorrow but that's not looking likely since they still don't have it and no tracking number has been issued yet..still says "attend interview". With the bank holiday Monday, looks like realistically the earliest we will have it is Tuesday if we pick it up...I really thought he'd be here today. ugh.

Could you tell us how your fiancee got ahold of someone who knew this info?
