Eternity, your packet 3 will probably be different as it will be from another country.

My packet 3 included 1) cover letter, 2) documents checklist, 3) DS-230 Part 1, 4) D (or DS) -156 (2 copies), and 5) Affidavit of support + instructions.

as the OP i appreciate when people take time to answer but get frustrated when the answeres are off topic or not clear.

for example, reba says "they very likely asked you "have you started any immigration paperwork" because they *did* have it come up on your passport scan, and wanted to see whether or not you'd lie about it. They're sneaky that way "

has this actually happened to her? or is she just making stuff up? i never said that they asked me any questions related to a visa application.

and then ziggy says "we are (sneaky). is he a POE officer? how am i supposed to know this. there is an ex CBP officer who shows a pic of him in his uniform so it is pretty clear.

and finally, people should make their topic subject titles clear.

"help" is less descriptive than "i have a question on my I-xxxform"

i just called my local RCMP branch and told them i'd lived there for 20 years and they hadn't arrested me yet. she laughed and said they would send someone right over to take care of that!

anyway she said it would be $15 and take about 5 minutes.

the woman i talked to was talking the whole fingerprinting thingy. she said the name check isnt valid for immigration but i think she's enjoying a little too much of the confiscated weed.

i just called my local detachment of the rcmp and this is the wait they told me.

for example if they scan my passport at the border during a crossing to go see my wife while waiting for the K3 to cme through, will anything show up on their screen that i have an application in progress?

If you want to make sure you get to see her then have her fly to toronto or Montreal first. she then trys to go through U.S. customs and immigration in either of those cities. If she gets trhough then she gets on her flight to see you. If she doesnt then you have to fly up there and have a wonderful visit in Canada!

There are lots of questions like yours and all the answers suggest that it MAY help if she has proof of ties back in Norway, like a lease on an apt, letter from employer with a couple of pay stubs from a few months ago etc.

Also it is recomended that she be completely honest in answereing all questions, without offering any extra info. When I cross and am asked why i'm going to the U.S. I say playing golf or whatever. If I were ever asked, I would say I will be playing golf with my wife...but I have never been asked that.

the sticky guide to the k3 does not use the term package 3 or 4 at all...and yet we see this all the time in posts.

are the NOA 1 and 2 considered packages 1 and 2? i see no reference to other possibilities.

is it true that at the same time that the NOA 2 is sent, the package three gets sent to the foreigner?

ok...now i am confused...you have the visa that came through the i - 129 process.

why are you continuing with the i 130...

just when i thought i had this figured out.

i'm sure this has been asked and answered but i cant find it.

i have no record of my yellow fever etc shots or TB or tetanus so ill have to get them redone.

i want to do this sooner rather than later so if somebody can let me know what they have had to get it would help.

i got my NOA for my I 130 dated Feb 6, 2006. i have tried by web and phone to check my status and both say that it can't be found.

anybody else had this experience?

I mailed my I 130 to Texas as I live in Alabama...my NOA came back with California Service Center as the contact on the bottom.

Is this normal? should I be sending my I 129 to California?
