I want to exchange the interview date with you!

We just got off the phone with the NVC. This has to be the most confusing form we have ever filled out.

We put the Gross Income in our Original AOS, we got a checklist saying it didnt match our W2. We filled out a new form and put that amount in the new AOS and now got another checklist saying it did not match the tax return. So we have to fill a new form again and submit it at the time of the interview but we are so unbelievably confused as to what amount to put in there!

Which form did you use? 864? If you used 864, then you need to put AGI instead of Gross Income or W2 income. If you used 864EZ, use W2 income only.

Update: I just got the interview letter email.

Honestly I have no idea how your embassy does things. I guess try calling some only take email check the embassy website for IV unit and see.

Yes. But same rule applies when you get interview date you deal directly now with embassy. You need to email them and request. Since they have your casefile and everything shouldn't be too much delay. I would send it now.

Everyone once you get an interview date. NVC is done with you. They ship off your casefile to your embassy. Further talks is now between you and embassy. For china because of how you guys do OPTIN the embassy does all the scheduling.

Do I have to email them for the request? Can I call the embassy directly?

Before everyone gets all crazy excited. China does their interview schedule very different because of how they are processed at NVC. The embassy does the scheduling and they wait extra long too.

So congratulations dear again. The rest believe next week they will be starting for September.

Are you sure that for China, it is the embassy does the scheduling instead of NVC? Because I want to schedule an earlier date.

I got my husband's interview date!!! It's September 23rd. Yeah!!!!!!

Just wanted to share the good news. I just called NVC and interview has been scheduled for August 12th. Thanks Saylin, dwheels and everyone that helps with this threads. You guyz are awesome and God Bless you all. Now....time...to prepare for the interview and do the medical...pray for me everyone. May God make it easier for all us In shaa Allah (God willing)

Case Complete today. AOS checklist emailed out on 6/21, NVC received it on 7/8.

Just called NVC and got informed that my case is complete. Yiieepiee

NVC received both packages (AOS & IV) on 20 June 2013.

Thanks to everyone posting in this forum. I got a lot of useful tips and was able to estimate pretty acurately, when my case would be reviewed.

Just some additional info I would like to share in return:

I called NVC last week and the could not see if my packages were received (Operator said only once the actual review starts, is when they put it into their system).

I tried logging into https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx today and got the following message (previously it would just show the status of my payments):

" Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error."

When I log in to https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx it still shows "At NVC".

Logging into the payment portal https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx still works and shows PAID status.

I got the same error message. Does it mean that my case is complete too?

I have filed 1040 and not 1040EZ. I have sent i-864 and not i-864EZ.

Now coming back to line 22.. here are my numbers..

W2 income - 114

S corp income - 35

line 22 -149

On my i864 I have written 149.

Yes, you are good. What I was talking is regarding I864 EZ.

You are qualified to use I864EZ but you didn't use. You used I864 instead, and that is totally fine.

You are right, they are asking for Adjusted gross and that is why I am little lost, though I have sent them i864 with gross including W2 and business.For me, W2 income is more than what is needed to qualify. I thought if you have business income you can not use EZ. is that true?

Reading the form I864EZ Part 1 itself, the question b stating that "I am using only my own earned or retirement income, which is documented using IRS Form W-2". So I guess when we fill out Part 5 Line 19, we should only include W-2 income but not other income sources.

If you believe your W-2 income is enough for the financial requirement, you can only use your W-2 income to qualify as a sponsor, then you need to fill out 864EZ.

If your W-2 income is not enough, and you have to use other source of income to qualify, then you cannot use the form I864EZ.

Therefore, as long as your W-2 income is good, use I864EZ and that W-2 income only even though you have other income.

That's really strange, because the I-864EZ specifically asks you for your Adjusted Gross Income, which will include income beyond the W2. If you filed the 1040, this would have been the amount reported on line 37 on the 2012 return.

On the form itself, it says AGI if filed 1040EZ, but if it's 1040, it says in I864EZ Instruction, to use the gross income before any adjustment.

I don't know if it is because we are sending in I864EZ or not. But for my case, I used the 864EZ and got a checklist. I think probably you will get one too.

Call back and ask them to tell you. Gowon just said he was check listed and they told him his adjusted gross wasn't matching to his transcripts.

They should be able to tell you on phone ask for a supervisor if operator won't help. Be sweet as pie and tell them you wanted to have papers ready when checklist comes so you can hurry get case complete before month end to get a august interview. Hurry now.

I called NVC again, and found out the problem. I should only use W-2 income as total income, but not the gross income which includes other business income!

Ah! Don't worry...hang in there...once they send u the checklist...correct the error and send it right back...I hope u get a case complete by the end of next week..Good luck and keep us updated on your journey.

I just couldn't think of any errors on my I864 EZ form. There is my signature, all the numbers are matched up with my tax transcript, my income level matches my employment letter, and I've attached my tax transcript for 2010-2012 tax years (three years), pay stubs and bank statements for the most recent three months. I am so worried and can't wait to see the checklist...

I just called NVC to check the status of my AOS and IV packages. The IV package is reviewed and accepted. But they found an error on my I864EZ form. The operator said that I would receive a checklist next Monday or Tuesday.

I am so happy.....yeah )))))) just called NVC...and do I have the greatest news to share.....
