    got our Biometrics Appt Letter in mail !!!

    this it to let you know that we received our Biometrics Letter in mail last friday for Jan 29, 2008 at 8AM in Detroit, apparently CSC is moving at a lightning speed :whistle: . We may have to go in a bit early to avoid the rush hour traffic for downtown Detroit, but 8AM appt means we should be in and out in under an hour. Last time they took the pic for my wife and she was sick during the time, so she is very unhappy about her pic in her 1st green card. so this time she says she will be prepared :blush: !!!

    Just hoping for a GC without interview this time, Detroit for us is about an hour away.

    Production of New Card Ordered!

    that was what I was leaning towards as well, thanks for the confirmation.

    We have applied for the removing condition now, let's say for some reason I didn't receive the 10 year GC until the time frame of 90 days before 2/15/09 (the 3rd anniversary of my wife's 1st GC), can we still apply for the citizenship, or do we need to wait until we have the new GC in hand before we apply????

    Qestion about pics while submitting lifting conditions app I-751

    hello y'all,

    I am back here after living Immigration dept worries free for about 2 years since we got my wife's 2 year GC, it was sad to get 2 year GC because we were only 3 months away from our 2nd anniversary, but no worries....

    I am getting ready to file the I-751 app for her, but can't seem to get definitive info on if any photos of her will be required with the app, passport styled or ones we sent with her I-129F...

    Can anyone please help me know if these are required or not, it would be greatly appreciated.....

    Also, it seems that for NSC, the processing date is Jan 2007, but I see that folks who applied in Aug and Sept to NSC are getting approved. can anyone who has been dealing with NSC for I-751 tell me that realistic timeframe...

    We had been living immig process free after getting green card in 2006. these ppl gave us green card about 1 1/2 bfr we had our 2nd anniversary....

    Alas we have to go through the Lifting condition process soon.....

    just trying to get our papers together....

    Man the increase in fee is a big hike......do they think we produce money and not earn :angry:

    anyhow goodluck in your process, your list will help us get things much better.....

    I agree with zyggy, sending in the last year or 2 or 3 for that matter of tax return with your I-751 is a key piece of evidence confirming the couple's living together as husband and wife, although there maybe a few folks who would still need to file with married filing sperately, but stating married nonetheless is what should be done (yep, I for one don't want to give more to IRS than is required).....

    so point being, send in your tax return info even if it says nothing about it.....

    I agree with mdyoung, I think it is a great idea, I will add a new folder for I-751 in my big huge set for immigration paperwork. I will keep a copy of the I-751 and will also start sticking things in there that will be relevent when time comes for filing paperwork. However, I will also keep a note in there reminding me to printout the latest form at that time along with the updated filing fee.

    hey gang,

    just wanted to tell you that both wife and I came back from the office today with a success story....

    we arrived almost on time as we got a bit late going to the office, we hardly waited a few mins in the lobby when an older gentleman came out and looked in the green card bin and called her name and asked us to accompany in his office, he was in pleasant mood. He did some causal chat and told us our I-130 file is with him along with the rest of the AOS appl and he has studied it and everything is in order. He then asked me for my DL and her passport as well as proof of our living together. I presented him with a few letters in our names as well as bank statements and our health insurance docs. He asked her about her date of birth, her mother's name and then went over the questions in AOS file very quickly, like not being part of terrorist org, etc etc....

    he then said ok guys, since you guys are married less than 2 years you are approved for a conditional GC and explained us the I-751 process and made us sign a letter stating he explained it. I jokingly told him its only couple of more months for our 2nd anniversay, he laughed and said yeah that happens sometimes...

    he then took her I-94 card from her passport and kept the EAD card and told us congrats you are approved for GC and stamped her passport with I-551 stamp and told us that we will receive a GC within 2 weeks....

    hope this will help folks who are getting ready for their AOS interviews...

    I am so thrilled to hear good news from you old friends, hope u n ur husband r doing well and are living a life full of blessings from our Lord n Savior. It is truly the best gift God gives one to be able to enjoy their hurband or wife everyday of their life. I wish you the best in all walks of life, especially to be stronger n stronger in your faith. We two are also enjoying our life as one in Christ everyday, she has gotten a job in our church daycare and hopefully soon will get a position in the school that is also part of the church. In process of getting her a car n praying for making this happen with no problems.

    Our interview is tomorrow around 11:45, we got all the papers ready but we are not afraid or worried, as Lord has always been on our side and will soften their hearts for us and we will come out with success...

    we got ours last year, it turned out there was a huge difference in price of one from the other, so list your local office and ask folks if they have dealt with one in your area. AS for us we got a bit lucky, our doctor had just gone through the similar experience a few months before when she had to do this for her mother. She gave us the names of civil surgeons who turned out are the cheapest in the area. the whole thing took $60 to just fill out the paperwork, we already had the vacc done with our doctor paid by the health insurance.

    so bottomline just call up all of the listed civil surgoens and compare prices before setting on one....

    I-864, Can I used old one or new one for AOS interview?

    all,

    our interview is on the 15th and just to be on the safe side I am preparing a new I-864 with 2005 tax info, my updated job letter. Note it says on the paper I-864 (unless already submitted). to me this means they will take the one we submitted last year just as they should use the medical and vacc from the ones already submitted. But you never know if they will make a big deal of not having a current I-864 so getting a new set will not hurt at least to us....

    just my 2 cents in the pot...
