  1. I flew in January and they stamped my passport, the guy was standing right there waiting to see it and take the FMT. I made sure I got the stamp correctly since the consulate said we didn't have enough evidence of our relationship on our 1st interview. Now they are making us wait 6 months to interview again. I'm holding on to every reciept, ticket, stub, and taking pictures purposely just to show him how much proof we have.

  2. some of those kids don't know the real reason, or don't understand and yes they are just kids and most of them are USCs. People that were protesting at least here where I'm from were undocumented immigrants, immigrants with visas, USCs, clergy, attorneys, doctors, business owners. There was immigrants from different countries, yes true, mostly hispanics, but not all. I mean even my man, Antonio Banderas knows what's up. Some people just dont get it. Until you walk in that person's shoes you don't know.

Yes they broke white man's law by coming here, but they haven't broken God's law.

  3. I'm not one to jump into political threads, or even ones with *touchy* topics. But I am so angry by what's going on in my neighborhood that I have to say something.

I live in California... Southern California to be exact. Our state is going to sh*t. If I discuss this openly, I run the risk of being called a "racist". Funny thing is, my sister-in-law is from Mexico. She came here legally and has followed all "the rules". She works legally, and she's ticked off too.

I am not a racist. I do not hate mexicans.

I just don't find it at all fair, that rules apply one place and not another. If we're going to make it ok for every illegal to stay here in California, work, get driver's licenses, etc. then I should be able to do the same in any other country. YES, I'm going to ask that we abolish visas and immigration laws completely! Why have rules? I should be able to go to Canada next weekend to join my husband. Demand a job without a permit, and get a driver's license. I also want them to take care of me, give me free medical, and fun stuff like that.

I have no objection to people wanting a better life. But rules are not rules if they don't apply to everyone. California is supposed to accept every illegal alien from Mexico with open arms, yet Mexico themselves deport Guatamalens all day. (Actually, the US pays for their deportation; we figure it'll save us money because most of them are just using Mexico as their expressway to get to the US). If we deport, we're racists... so why don't they accept the Guatamalens based on that theory with open arms too?

We have a country that was attacked in 2001. We have Al Queda's living in Mexico, learning the language, blending in - because they know how damn ez it is to come here.

We have banks in So. Cal handing out mexican flag souveniers to get new customers, allowing Matricula Consular cards as formal ID to open accounts. No SS# needed.

My best friend is a science teacher in the LA school district. He loves to teach. His kids love him too. His students walked out Friday, didn't come in Monday, were locked in on Tuesday (only half there). Why? Most of the kids interviewed DIDN'T KNOW WHY they were protesting. The saw it on myspace, it prolly sounded like a fun day off from school. Anyone want to take a guess at how much it cost the State to pay all the teachers for those days?

Again, rules for one group of people, but not for another. I'm sick of it. Go ahead and tell me how much i suck. I don't care.

I agree with ya. Most of what you described is pretty f'd up. I'm a hs teacher and here the kids walked out yesterday. They, too, didn't know what they were protesting when I asked. Not ONE of the kids I talked to could tell me and I talked to many many many Monday and yesterday morning. Also, they decided to take their "protest" in front of the city hall. #######?

You know California and Texas used to be part of Mexico........ and it is not just illegals protesting, I am a USC and I am protesting to call all protesters illegals is wrong and they are not all Mexicans. I know I was there!

  4. Your right, it doesn't sound like they sent it back to the states. If so it would have stated it on the 221g letter. Have you tried your local congressman as well? Just keep pushing until you get their help, make sure you have your evidence all in a row to show any representative that will help you.

Also, have you thought about contacting a lawyer? Just a thought.

    Good luck to ya!

I did consult with an attorney and paid him $100 for 30 minutes of advice, but did not hire him he wanted to $3000.00 to take my case.

I sent a letter with all particulars to my senator and I recieved a call yesterday that they were going to look into the case, the lady said hopefully they should have some information about my case next week. All this is just an emotional rollercoaster, down, down, then up fast, sharp curve, then down again.

  5. Hey girlies! Sorry I didnt get in today. I had to take an 8 hour med class! Boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyways I wanted to tell yall to keep yzuniga in your thoughts she still hasnt gotten in farther in her quest in getting a visa for her other half.

I just wanted to say thanks Ashley, for thinking of me. I know it has been awhile since I've posted or even looked at the site, I just couldn't. I was struggling to keep myself from going insane. I went through a major depression and was not able to even live life. I'm better now and about 20lbs thinner (that's the good part). I am happy for all of those reunited and I am still praying for all of us that are waiting. I also checked the website I2US, it is helpful.

I do have good news though, our rally-march here in Kansas City, Kansas was successful. We had a great turn out, and got media coverage on the local news. Also, watch Univision, we are making our voices heard, we want immigration reform! Other cities around the US were also united. We were encouraged not to buy anything no gas, food, no purchases at all to show that we can impact the economy. There are going to be changes, we have to united to make it happen. I encourage the people who have not written to their senators to do so. Tell them that you support McCain/Kennedy bill and oppose HR4337 it will only take 5-10 minutes at the most but do it, it will benefit all of us seperated from our loved ones.

  6. How could that Mexican girl have insurance to pay when she probably makes only $5.00 an hour and has no benefits where she works. She probably also works her bu** off, because she needs the job and does not complain. There is also a question of exploitation, illegals are here because they are cheap labor. There is no question that there needs to be a type of reform done. Do you know how many people die each day trying to get here? They put there lives at risk because they see there families starving in their country, when they try to get a visa, it is not something they can afford and they usually get turned down. I would cross through desert, water and mountains too if I saw my kids ill and starving, I'd risk it all just to make a better life for them.

i leave in kansas city and it is LOADED with illegals. A hospital near my parents house in kansas city had to shut down because of all the illegals with no insurance going through there. Now it is a 15 min drive tot the nearest hospital. And don't even get my started on the influx of crime.

It isn't even a question of race because legal residents of the same race don't want the illegals there either. It just blows my mind. If i lived near the borders i definately would join the group that monitors the borders since obviously the united states government for political reasons won't do it.

I live in Kansas City also, if you are talking about Bethany Hospital that hospital closed down because it is in the poorest county in KCK. Many people did not have insurance not just illegals. Wyandotte county is a poor county and if you look at the statistics there are people of all races living there. I am hispanic but I am a 4th generation USC, and I'm tired of all the racism. Here in KC, if they see you are Hispanic automatically they assume you are illegal, automatically they assume you do not speak English. That is wrong. Not all Hispanics are illegal, I'm tired of it all. It is frustating......................

  7. Boiler: I called the State Department and asked them if they were done doing checks, they said they weren't doing any checks on that case. That the petition is at the CDJ consulate that they were waiting for evidence to prove our relationship. I don't understand why the 6 month wait, if it is just sitting there. I sent in 50 pages of additional evidence in February photocopies of pictures together, wedding dress reciept, engagement ring reciepts, hotel reciepts, passport stamps, picture taken of me with his family, airline tickets, cell phone bills, letters. I have not even had a reply. When we took all this in January the consulate officer did not even want to take it, he said bring it in July.

Samuel: I'm sorry to hear about your case, it makes me angry that they cannot give a justification why it is held up. I hope you hear something soon. Contact your senator, I just wrote to mine today and include an authorization form signed by you authorizing the office to inquire about your case. Their is a number that you can call I will try to find it. That is where they can tell you if they are doing checks and if they have been completed.

I found it! the number is 202-663-1225

  8. We had our first interview in early January and we were given a 221g requesting additional evidence of our relationship and the CO also requested my fiance's last 3 employers. The CO was quite rude and presumptious. My fiance took a bus back to SLP and I came back home by myself. I was not sure how we could turn this evidence in so I email CDJ to ask, since the sheet was not clear CDJ said to come in any weekday M-F between 8-10 am.

We went again in late January with additional evidence. The CO would not take additional evidence and said we were both ignorant and couldn't read and he told my fiance to not come back until July 2006. I was angry, I did go to the citizen services section and the person behind the glass window at that building told me they really did not have anything to do with the visa section. I told him I would contact the senator and he told me that was probably the best thing I could do. Well anyways I did write several letters and make several phone calls but none of the State reps have responded yet.

I will keep trying and I also sent in the additional evidence that the CO who insulted us would not take, and a letter to the supervisor. I also emailed the supervisor of Visa Section and still have not received a response in February.

I called the State Department and asked them if they were done with there extra security checks. They told me they weren't doing any checks on this case. That the consulate was just waiting for the additional evidence.

Since then I've gone to Mexico to visit my fiance with my youngest child and spend some time with his family. He is depressed and so am I we had plans to marry this month and now we are uncertain of the future. I know that I will go marry him over there and live over there if I have to but I don't want to. My children and I have our lives and family here. There are times that I feel hopeless and other times I am just angry. This process they make us go through is crazy and some of those COs don't know what they are doing. You would think they would give them better training. My question is why is the CO making us wait 6 months to turn in the evidence, is he just being a jerk?

Well anyways I have not been able to post for months, I decided once and for all to let it all out.

  9. We went to our interview on Jan 9, 2006 for a K-1 visa, the consulate officer said he needed more evidence to prove our relationship was real gave us a 221g and placed us on Administrative Review. He said he needed time to find something on my fiance but 6 months???? I thought it only took about 3 months. He asked us to bring the rest of the evidence in July, no photocopies. My fiance is from Mexico and our interview was in Juarez, I think the consulate officer was in a bad mood that day because he denied everyone that went to his window.
