Received an email on Friday, July 9th saying they took action on my case. Logged in, and Interview is scheduled for Saturday, August 7th at 7:25am. I wasn't expecting anything until early 2022 based on the timeline they had first given me. 😃

Quick question, they say I need to bring my Canadian passport to the interview. Are they going to keep it? I have a trip scheduled to go back to Canada to visit my family for the first time since Jan.2020, I hope none of this will be an issue.

That's what happened to me, and i'm a November 2016 filer. It was an issue with their system, and I was never transferred to my local office (Dallas, TX). My approval came straight from California.

Did anybody elses change? With all the changes happening lately I'm too scared to celebrate yet. Does anybody have any experience that when the status changes to this they received their card within a few days? (P.s. I did not file for N400 yet.)

My status changed on 4/11 indicating new card is being produced. On 4/12, my status changed again, saying my case was approved. Yesterday, I received my notice in the mail that my case was approved, and would receive my new card shortly (I believe it said by Mary 12th). I also did not file for N400 yet.

You should receive your approval letter in the next few days.

I was on 04/11.

I first received notification on April 11 that my new card was being produced, then on April 12 saying my case was approved. A little backwards...lol

On February 25th and 26th, I received a notice saying my case was transferred to the local office. Since I hadn't received a notice in the mail by March 28th,  I sent them an inquiry to make sure they had the correct mailing address. I received an email yesterday from California Service Center, and they indicated that my case was approved on 4/11 and the California Service Center has ordered the production of my Permanent Resident Card, and would receive it within 45 days (clearly my case wasn't transferred to the local office). As some people had mentioned, it seems there was a glitch with their system, and it sent mass notifications even though cases weren't transferred.

Received an email that my case was updated. Upon login in, I had the following.

I just looked at mine, and it also says : On February 26, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACXXXXXXXXXX, at your local office. Fingers crossed it goes faster.

Our cases are finally complete. Now I need to start to prepare for my interview.

Do we need the entire DS-260 or just the confirmation page?

I would also like to know if we can bring cell phones to the consulate. I cant seem to find consulate specific info as to what we can or can't bring.

Just the confirmation page is required.

As for the cell phone, you can bring it, but once you go through security, they will keep it and give you a ticket with a number. You will only be able to retreive it once you are done and leaving the consulate.

I had my interview on Tuesday, November 25th and was approved. My status changed from Ready to Issued the next day. Thursday was American Thanksgiving, so my passport was picked-up from the Consulate on Friday, November 28th. (received a confirmation email from Loomis). It was ready for pickup first thing Monday morning (December 1st).

OK. Just talked myself off the ledge I have a feeling that this is just a form letter that they send out to everyone. Did you scan and email all of your documents? I did. And if you read the instructions from the NVC regarding the things that you are supposed to bring with you, it lists 2 passport photos, your I-864 form (in whatever manner you used to apply) and supporting documents. I think that we are OK. Good luck.

I would suggest you bring the original documents of everything that was sent through EP. On my instructions from NVC, it never mentioned to bring the original copies of the petitioners proof that previous marriages were terminated, however, they asked to see them when I went to the interview. Thankfully, I had brought everything with me. Better to bring to much then not enough.

Can anyone with recent experience at Montreal embassy tell me if petitioner is allowed to the interview?

i checked the Consulate's website and it states that only an interpreter and/or parent for a minor child can accompany a visa applicant.

I had my interview last week. The petitioner can go with you at the consulate, but when it comes to the actual interview part, only the beneficiary is allowed. The waiting part was the hardest, but the interview itself was really quick and simple.

I went to the OPP station by the Scotia Bank Place

For those from the Ottawa region.....where did you go for your Police Clearance? Did you go to the RCMP or did you get a Criminal Record Check from the Ottawa Police Services?

Also, any other Canadians with an interview next Tuesday (November 25th)?

We're coming from Ottawa. I'm going to drive the night before and just stay one night. It's only 2 hours or so depending on traffic so I'll probably go do the medical and come back the same day the week before.

We got a 1pm Medical and left Ottawa before 10:30am. We parked under the building where the medical was for 17 dollars. We were back in Ottawa before 6pm.

Ha, a few of us on here from Ottawa =) I actually had my medical yesterday at 1pm. I left at 10am which gave me more then enough time to stop for gas and at Tim's. Everything went smooth I was back home by 4:40 (i'm actually in Orleans). They did tell me that it's 3 business days before I can pick up my results. I'll just be picking them up the day before my interview.

I too will be staying overnight for my interview, got a room at the Courtyard, about 1 block away for a decent price, plus $25/parking.

Actually....that is your case complete, congratulations. It just means they will be scheduling you for your interview as soon as one becomes available.

This is an email I received today from NVC:

09-OCT-14

Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

I'm doing EP and sent in both AOS and IV packages before paying the IV fee or completing the DS260. Since everything was there when it was time to review my AOS package, they decided to review everything together.

Does anyone know when scheduling is done for the Consulate in Montreal? I forget where I read this, but I believe they usually do scheduling at the beginning of each month?
