Still no reply to my RFE response. Today is the 6th day. Really hoping by the end of tonight I receive a response. My babes been having a bad day, it'd be perfect.

Can ppl who got an RFE tell me how long it took for an answer ? I just want to kno the fastest and longest so I don't get crazy

I got approved 5 days after my rfe was received.

I feel bad, cause many dominican have done many fraud to go usa, and that affect people that try to go usa legal.

I try to go legal with a fiance visa. The problem is that for the interview the petitioner has to be present here, and my fiance can not come here in a couples months.

There are peoples in other country that go to rhe interview alone, but here in the dominican republic they want to see the petitioner.

It is a shame by the bad dominicans .

My fiance is american his parents are american too.

I hope that the day of my interview, i be lucky.

unless you want a denial do not go alone. In DR it is mandatory for both to be interviewed...

I am so worry, because my fiance can not come this year to santo domingo, because he has came two times this year , he was here on april and on september.

And cause he job he can not come back here.

I need that someone help me, i dont know if he has to be here in santo domingo obligatory or i can go to my interviwer alone.

it is mandatory for your fiance to attend the interview. if that does not happen your will be denied.

I am an American Citizen with an American Passport. I know can stay in the Dominican Republic up to ninety days without a visa. I bought one way tickets to the Dominican Republic as I didn't know what day we would actually get the visa. Well, I had a problem at the airport in Phoenix, Arizona. American Airlines wouldn't let me go on my flight until I bought a return ticket! They said I cannot go to a different country unless I showed proof of leaving! Ridiculous! Of course, now they are going to charge me a 200 dollar fee when I have to change my flight! Has anyone else had this problem?

That's strange I was born in the USA and traveled in December to DR with a one way ticket. and my parents have done it before. Maybe it's a new thing now.

I wrote it wrong im sorry. My question is. Is It possible to know ur interview date 3 months before the interview? THE DOS. Told me that my packet 4 was sent out on oct 3rd. And then yesterday idk if they got mad at for calling so much and they told me that my interview is on jan 30th ...ever time i call they tell me a different story. I dont know wat to believe now

did you email the embassy? They will confirm that.

My fiancee made the trip yesterday to Santo Domingo to do his medical exam and they turned him away because they said it's too far away from his interview (December 5th). So now he has to go back sometime after November 5th to do it.

it says the medical exam needs to be done 5 business days before the interview date.

There is no age gap between the two of you it's just a few years so that will never be a problem. if you count your flight expenses etc it will never go pass the 2000

That's strange. wait until you get the packet they will let you know as soon as you have an interview date. keep calling weekly.

ok .... yes i understand, that medical can NOT be done until he has his medical BLUE letter and packet 4!!! i was NOT ASKING ABOUT MEDICAL!!!! i was asking if he could go get his vaccianctions at any time he wanted........ from his regular doctor.

AND that if his shot re shot record would be vaild for medical!!!!!!

How will you know what vaccines he needs. Remember this is a place that is part of the immigration process and I would not go anywhere else to get vaccinated if it's not there. You don't want to pay money twice. and if you go outside I'm sure those vaccinations will not be in the documentation with the medical exam. Also with the I129f petition it is an obtion to get vaccinated not required since he is coming with a visa not a green card.

Thank you! I have way less stress than what I had a month ago! Uff! After all we went through... Almost 3 months after approval and we finally have an interview date. I am ok with the fact that the interview will be held in January mainly because in January I have way less to do and I could go there and wait with him till his visa arrives. Plus it is way cheapper to fly over there in January than in December and I will be in winter break from college.

God knows what he does and sometimes we question him, when we should not.

I have one question though... I e-mailed the embassy to ask them to send me a copy of the packet 4 but they said that if we don't get it by November 30th to get in contact with them... How did you get them to send you the copy? was it over mail or e-mail?

I know it's a relief once you get that DATE!! lol I have thanksgiving week so the flights are expensive coming back which sucks. I actually emailed the embassy once NVC gave me the date of the interview and told them if I could get a copy of the letter so I could show it at work and request my days. and they sent it to me in their reply. Also 3 weeks later my fiance got his packet in the mail in DR and the next day I got the same exact packet here mailed to me, which I was not expecting.

My husband's interview was scheduled BEFORE it left the NVC and I found out by email. The email is the Interview Letter. Is this all we need for him to schedule his Medical Exam? Or what is in the Packet 4 that everyone talks about. I was told by the NVC that the interview letter is all we need, however, I'm not real confident in the information I receive from them.

I would wait to get the packet since the letter is a blue paper. but since he can't do his blood until 5 days before his appointment he should have it by then and also they send you a copy of packet 4 here in nyc.

Good evening, I am a U.S. Citizen living in Sarasota Florida. In August I went to the Dominican Republic on vacation. After 6 days of my two week tour of the country I met a beautiful young lady and was immediately attracted. We fell in love during the 2nd week of my vacation and she cried when I had to leave. I told her we could keep in touch and I bought her a cell phone so she could call and text me.

After talking on the phone and sending text we decided to get engaged.

I sent her money so she could get her Dominican Passport while I work on the K-1 visa. She said she had to go and get a medical examination and obtain a certificate of good conduct from the Departamento de Policia.

Here is the problem. Today she texted me that she was standing in line at the Passport Office in Puerto Plata. After waiting several hours she said that they told her I had to be there with her in order for them to give the passport to her.

I have never heard of such a thing in my life. As far as I knew as long as she met the requirements and paid the fee she should be able to get a passport. A citizen of the Dominican Republic should be able to get a Dominican Passport without the presence of an American Citizen. Am I wrong about assuming this?

This doesn't make any since to me. I plan on going back down in December anyway but I just wanted her to have this done before I Mailed in the I-129F. I am beginning to have doubts that she knows what she is doing or they are informing her incorrectly. Maybe she went to the wrong office or is confusing the Visa with the passport. I really don't know.

Every Dominican in DR know how to obtain a passport. Its easy. Also she does not need any medical exam or certificate of conduct until you petition has been approved here sent to DR and you have an interview date. Getting a passport is easy in DR unless she's had one in the past she gets it the same day. She just needs her photos which they take it right there in the place, her cedula ( ID card) and her inextensa birth certificate which is legalized, that needs to be requested and taken care of before going to get the passport.

I just Called DOS and they told me we will be interviewed on January 9th 2014

How did you find out? Did you call , send a email, o just check the list?

I called NVC and got the date. and then emailed the embassy in DR and got a copy of packet 4 and they confirmed the interview. The list was not even out for November when I received my cita date.

you should get it within 2 weeks but it could take up to 3-4 weeks or it will never arrive. If you don't get it just let them know and maybe it could be picked up. You will get one in the mail. I got the same thing my fiance received in the mail

i am tired of waiting, got my NOA2 , now the earliest embassy date is January. my heart cannot take any more. i am calling it quits. i am making irrational decisions. the loneliness is eating me alive. i wish i never stated this. i wish you all well in your journey.

I get your frustration.. I have not seen my fiance in a year and 2 months. I gave birth to our baby boy who is 9 months and he has yet to meet him! You already passed the approval stage here the rest should be easy. I know waiting sucks but if the love is there you could pull thru.. good luck.

But like I said if you search for 11/26/2013 there are 28 appointments scheduled and if you search for 12/30/2013 there are only 8... I will remain hopeful that with the next update (by next week) and god willing, my fiances interview date will be on that list..

In DR you never know what they are doing. So I would not wait for the list. Just always email them weekly until they give you a date.

My Mom will be eligible to apply for US Citizenship in a couple of days. The main issue is that she has been here for 5 years and doesn't speak any English at all. I know a lot of people that have become US Citizens without speaking English. Are there any process for her case or do I need to hire an attorney?

I think you have to be over a certain age and have lived here for 15 yrs. Just call and find out.

They haven't updated that list since last month! I thought that new appointments were added each month. December is not even to full capacity yet so there is actually a possibility of getting one in 2013. Also they usually give you your date 2 months in advance therefore there's no way that that list won't be updated again until January! That would mean that people with January appointments Wouldn't have time to gather all required documents and their medical.

That's just my opinion

because the list previous to that was not a final list, and when the one that is up went up it said final!

if you look at the list it has appt from sept to december 30, 2013.
