  • Our Story
Friends introduced us. I was very leery about getting involved with a Nigerian. I expressed my concerns to my friend (Karie),she begins telling me how great this guy is. After a period of some months, I finally told her she could give him my email address.

Ken and I began emailing one another, then we exchanged phone numbers. I enjoyed reading his emails, but I truly enjoyed talking with him. From the very beginning it was as if we had known each other a lifetime already. Also, from the beginning Kenny wasn't aggressively pushing to establish a relationship with me. I appreciated the pace he set for our friendship to grow and develop into something more.

After several months of communicating via email, phone and occasionally Skype, Ken invited me to come for a visit. Karie agreed to travel with me, it has been her dream to go to Nigeria since she exited the birth canal ;-) So she and I prepared for our big adventure.

From the moment I decided to travel to Naija, I committed my trip into the Lord's care. As we were descending, I asked God for a sign. As I looked out my window, I saw a church with the steeple as a Cross. I knew God was with me.

I have to share this part....When I first saw Kenny he had on a starched white shirt, black pants and black sandals. As this tall, athletic built, handsome man approached me, I knew that this precious treasure walking towards me was a gift from my loving, heavenly Father. We hugged, as he took my hand in his, I felt at home and I felt at peace. As we began walking towards his car, I knew we would walk through the rest of our days on this earth a husband and wife. Ken tells me our marriage is ordained by God and I tell him we were not brought together out of desperation but destiny (We both agree, God our loving Father, purposed for us to be together) Glory and Honor to Him who is able. My Bible verse for this journey and my marriage is Eph. 3:20 - Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. I can't even imagine how God wants to work through us, but we have surrendered ALL to Jesus.
