  1. My Fiance daughter was also positive for skin but Xray was inconclusive and she was still able to travel. However 2 weeks after arriving here in the US we received a letter from our County health department requesting her to examined and tested again. We went and thank god all the additional exam and test prove to be negative.

So just keep in mind that there is a possibility that once she gets here she will undergo additional testing.

Thank you for the heads up that we may receive notice once she arrives here, really appreciate it. Good to know so if it happens not to worry.

  2. My fiancee and her 4 yr old daughter both had their medical this week. We were nervous because her daughters TB skin test came back positive for exposure so she went back today to receive her x-ray results which were good! Her daughter had received BCG vaccine which I knew many times shows a false positive skin test but still was worried. Thank God they both passed and the weather was not too bad in Manila today for them to be able to safely travel there/home. Next step embassy interview!!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the Philippines as Typhoon Yolanda passes through, may God be with you all.

  3. I just schedule my fiancee and her daughter's embassy interview in Manila as was surprised how quickly we got their appointments. I forgot to take a screen shot of the calendar but here are the dates that were available for the month of November as of today October 25: Nov 4,6,8 / Nov 11,13,14,15 / Nov 18,19,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,29. I hope this helps and good luck to everyone about to schedule their interview. God bless!

  4. Well, it looks like we figured out why we both have two statuses! Now I can stop worrying about that second status hindering the first one from going "Issued" in a couple of days. Regarding her son, I seriously doubt he will change his mind and say he wants to come to America before he reaches 21. Yes, then it will be too late for him to come. Good luck with your "visa journey"! Keep reading posts on VJ. Most of the good info I get is from here. I plan to post a lot of details soon that will help everyone who are about to go to their interview. smile.png

Glad to hear as I was just trying to figure out the same question why we had two but see it's for fiancee and her daughter :)

  5. They don't need that because the mother is present with her child during the passport application. The only time you will need that is if the child is applying without the mother (since the child is illegitimate).

The red ones are enough requirements for the son.

    Quote

For Minors (below 18 years old)

    General Requirements:

Confirmed appointment (except for 1 year old and below)

Personal appearance of the minor applicant

Personal appearance of either parent (if minor is a legitimate child) / of mother (if minor is an illegitimate child)

Original Birth Certificate of minor in Security Paper issued by NSO or Certified True Copy of Birth Certificate issued by the Local Civil Registrar and duly authenticated by NSO. Transcribed Birth Certificate from the LCR is required when entries in NSO Birth Certificate are blurred or unreadable. Report of Birth duly authenticated by NSO is required if minor was born abroad.

Document of identity with photo, if minor is 8-17 years old (for first time and

renewal applicant) such as School ID or Form 137 with readable dry seal

For minor applicants who never attended school, a Notarized Affidavit of Explanation executed by either parent (if minor is a legitimate child) / by mother (if minor is an illegitimate child) detailing the reasons why the child is not in school, is required

Marriage Certificate of minor's parents duly authenticated by NSO

Notarized Affidavit of Support and Consent to travel from either parent (if minor is a legitimate child) / from mother (if minor is an illegitimate child)

Original and photocopy of valid passport of the person traveling with the minor

Photocopy of valid passport of either parent (if minor is a legitimate child) / of mother (if minor is an illegitimate child) or identification documents (Please refer to List of Acceptable IDs)

The red ones are enough requirements for the son.

Fiancee is taking her 4 yr old daughter to get passport next week. Since child is only 4 does that mean we need everything listed in red EXCEPT "document of identity with photo, if minor is 8-17...?" Or do we still need something here?

    Thank you!!

  6. I took screen shots of our YM chats, about 2 pages of chats per month. We use Skype mainly for talking over the phone so I did the same here.

I have a mac and to fit more on each page I simply zoomed out until smaller but still legible (cmd -), took screen shot to select only YM window (cmd-shift-4) and then pasted in a word processor as a jpg (I used MS Word) and reduced all margins to fit more per page. Worked fine for us w/ no RFE.

  7. Stokes is a bad word around here. Nobody really wants to get stoked.

I've still got a lot to learn and glad I read this as I use the word on a regular basis here in the states meaning super excited but after looking online I see what you mean.

  8. My fiancee lives in Quezon City and should be joining me here in New Smyrna Beach, Florida hopefully before Christmas God willing. NSB is a small beach town on the east coast of central Florida about 20 miles south of Daytona Beach (most people recognize Daytona Beach but not NSB). Anyone else in the Central FL area? God bless.

  9. You're fine to use your home address, the embassy isn't going to mail you anything.

Now that you have your MNL # it's rock 'n' roll time!!

Very nice...thought so but guess I'm just paranoid, thanks as always.

Her 4 yr old daughter doesn't have her passport yet and we want to schedule their interviews same day so they can go together for that and medical so we plan to fly her daughter to Manila this week (from CDO) to get her passport in 7 days for extra fee so they can pay visa fees at same time and we can schedule online their Embassy interview same date. Originally I hoped we could schedule fiancees interview now with MNL # and then daughters after she gets passport in about 1 1/2 week but don't think that would work. Getting excited, thanks so much Hank!!!

  10. Did you ask a Tier 2 human at USCIS, via telephone, to send out the NOA-2 to the new address? Yes? No ?

    No

I should have been more persistent with the USCIS rep over the phone to transfer me to ISO tier 2. After the standard rep said they updated the address, put me on hold, said she needed to contact someone to request it to be resent then came back and gave me confirmation #. I've read all over the forum they say whatever and to speak to tier 2 and again should have pushed harder. I plan on calling back Monday to speak with tier 2, provide conf # and request it to be resent. Thanks.

  11. You really don't need to update the address for your fiancee in the Phils, the only mail the embassy sends never arrives for most... and you can do everything without it anyway. Nothing else is mailed to the beneficiary.

After the interview 2GO will deliver the passport with visa to your fiancee but that is about it, and her home address should be just fine for that, as 2G0 will text and/or call when they delivery the package.

Only important address is yours in the States. And you are correct the NOA2 isn't needed until AOS.

Everything for the visa application is done online for USEM. Now to wait for your MNL #

We have received our MNL # and I opened a PO Box here to ensure delivery of NOA2. I called USCIS and NVC and updated my address to the PO Box (only using PO box for K-1 paperwork).

    1. On I-134 should I use the PO Box address or my house address (the one that caused NOA2 returned)?

    2. When I called NVC to update address they did and said our petition left the NVC for Manila two days previous...Will this cause any issues?

Thank you all in advance, couldn't do this without the support!

  12. You listed the child on the petition for the K2, but the child will need a passport for the visa process at the embassy.

Mother has sole custody of the child in the Philippines. Nothing is needed from the father.

Trying to get Fiancee's daughters passport for K-1/2. They'll bring Cenomar to DFA.

To confirm, even if daughter (illegitimate) has fathers surname on Birth Certificate nothing is needed from father?

    Thanks!!!

Thanks Hank! After researching further I found that my landlord who lives in the apartment above the garage I rent recently forwarded their mail to another address which was the cause of me not receiving it. Thanks again!!

  14. Not for a K-1, no. Petitioner receives NOA-2 via postal mail.

However, Manila IV has been sending stuff to the beneficiary prior to interview date, it's been very strange, the contents of the packet.

If you wish to know more about K-1 visa chasing for Manila IV, find Hank_ 's Handy-Dandy, Neeto-Keen (yet Spiffy) Guide to SuperFast K-1 Visa Chasing for Manila IV. Then read it, about 10 hours worth.

You can find the link in Hank_ 's signature, on each and every one of his posts here.

    thank you very much
