  1. Hi Guys

Sorry to commedeer this thread but i didn;t want to post another am i ready for my interview thread with this one at the top.

Is there a check list of what you need to take with you to the interview.

I've got my inteview on Monday so i'm into full on panic mode (fly to london on Saturday so need to be ready by friday).

So far my stack of paper looks like this. Can anyone tell me what else i'm missing

  2. What are everyone's plans for health insurance when they move to the states.

It can be really expensive if not included with your employment and most insurance companies won't touch you for the first 6 months.

I had thought about taking out a long trip travel insurance but guess that with no returned planned that might be invalid.

Interested to know what everyone else it doing.

  3. Just looking at my CEAC status (i do this several times a day hoping the date will change) and for a change actually read what it says underneath.

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html"

IS this just the standard wording or does it change depending on the status?

Does this mean that everything is ready and I'm just waiting for them to schedule the date?

I've called the extortion line a few time in the last couple of weeks and always get the same "6 weeks to process and 3 weeks before you here". Tried to call again today but they are too busy.

Is there anyway other way to find out if an appointment has been scheduled?

This whole process is making me nervous and I'm getting really impatient.

  4. I'm sure everything is fine but the longer it takes the more nervous i get.

Its my fault for taking so long submitting the forms.

Starting to worry that i've missed something but the extorition line has no information.

everytime they ask if i've submitted a DS2001 which i'm pretty sure i have. Just worrying that they are wait for that and i'm waiting for them. Unfrotuantely they won't look into any further until past the 6 weeks

  5. Not at all.

Wife is on half day today so if theres not letter waiting i'll give them a call this afternoon

No letter so called the extorition line.

Case was updated on Friday but no details as to what was done.

Interview date hasn't been set yet.

    same old line.

    normally takes 6 weeks

they will contact me 3 week after its been set so i will probably get told the date towards the end of August.

  6. The touch date on our ceac is July 1st which is when they received my medical and a couple of days after they recieved they DS230.

It's only a week ago so i'd imaging it will take a couple of weeks to process. Just being impatient.

I said that we were hoping to travel in early November so I'm sure they're not rushing things,

We've had to book our cruise as the cabins we wanted were starting to sell out.

I'm sure it will all be fine, but as the cut off date for cancelling is August 3rd i was hoping to at least get the interview date by then.

  7. They sent my interview letter the day they got the medical results (they had the forms a few days before).

I'd call them (you can call DoS or the embassy extortion line) if you're really impatient and see if they know the scheduled date. smile.png Else, my letter took 3 days to show up.

The CEAC status will continue to say READY from now until your interview, so it won't update and say anything useful from now if you think they've had all your forms and medical logged.

I think the big difference is you sent in your Ds230 well before your medical.

I think mine would have both been received on the same day.

If i haven't heard anything by Monday i may call the extortion line.

  8. Just about to post of my off my DS-2001 and DS-230 but it seems like theres not enough stuff

All i'm sending is a cover letter saying i've had my medical and when i want to travel, the completed DS-2001 and the completed DS-230

What i've read indicates that thats it and all supporting docs go with me to the interview.

Really surpirsed i don;t have to send i-864 for anything like that

Why do these forms make me panic so much
