  1. Mom had her interview today for her tourist visa. She approached it with honesty and provided as much info as possible, verbally.

Professional mid-wife going to visit her newborn grand daughter. She is worried about her daughter being a new country with no relatives and a newborn daughter. Also to see her son-in-law and meet his relatives. She plans to stay 3 months and return. Only makes 3000php every 3 months with 23,000php in the bank and no ticket yet. No property, no "employer" and "employer letter", 2 children still in high school. No pictures with family to be visited, no other info other than a desire to see her family abroad. No invitation letter from us.

    APPROVED!

Hi! May I ask how old was your MIL?

Hey there, I would like to let you know that my mother passed her interview yesterday. She was interviewed for less than 5 minutes and she said she had a very good experience because they accommodated her request for her to have a interpreter, Plus take note they didn't look or asked for any documents. They asked her a few questions about me and ofcourse mostly about her. She was just very honest on all of their questions like:

    1. Who will paying for her trip? which is me and my husband here.

    2. Who is supporting her because she is not working? She said me, her daughter since after my college I had been supporting them and yes until now but she mentioned she also have a youngest son who is also helping her out.

    3. How long is she staying in US? She said 2 months, by late summer to fall

    4. If she is thinking to get a citizenship in here? She said a big NO, it is very COLD in New Hampshire...

That was it and the consul asked for her passport and gave my mother a thumbs up. She was so surprised and asked them if she is all set?? Because after all of our preparation, meaning all the documentation and paper work, they didn't asked any of it. I am not complaining but my mother was hahaha.. So thankful to God and we will see her on 1st week of Aug this year and then planning for her to go back to the Philippines by mid or end of October.

But be prepared for documentation maybe my mother just get so lucky that they didn't asked any documents from her but according to her there are so many out there in her batch that they were asking for them to show some supporting documents.

Hope your mother in law will pass her interview too, that will help your wife emotionally too.. Because seeing her Mom around while she is giving birth and someone will take care of her and her baby..that is a big deal...Goodluck!

How old is your mom? Thanks

  2. "California Department of Justice

The California Department of Justice (DOJ) will provide a statewide criminal clearance if you are an immigration applicant and you have been directed to obtain California or local clearances by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, by a United States consulate or embassy, or by a foreign government for emigration from the United States. For recorded DOJ clearance letter information, call 916-227-3822."

thanks....I've read this... but my mind was blank and confused. Not absorbing things I read

  3. I got an RFE for my AOS for twice rejected fingerprint. USCIS local asked me to submit police clearance report from where I lived in CA within six months. But while searching online, I found the LAPD site: http://www.lapdonline.org/communications_division/content_basic_view/6426, which says that they do not give out police clearance for immigration purposes. Any experiences/advice/ help will be greatly appreciated. What to do??? :crying:

  4. It also says on their instructions to bring the most recent 1040 and w2 so I dont see why you need 3 years.

This is correct. This 3 year thing is often confused with the Affidavit of Support for AOS (I-184) which asked for the most recent tax, 2nd most recent, 3rd most recent wherein the most recent tax copy is required to be attached , the 2nd & 3rd tax copy are optional to attach but income needs to be written on the form for these years. I hope this clarifies the confusion.smile.png

  5. #11."I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3. (If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you initend to furnish room and board, state for how long, and if money, state the amount in US dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthly, or for how long.)"

I know this has been asked before and advised us to follow VJ form sample on this. But I get mixed answers from my research. I want to know especially from K-1 filers who have had a recent interview in Manila, what they put and did you follow VJ sample not checking any and putting "N/A (K1 Visa Process for permanent residence)". Was your visa approved? Were there no problems for not checking the boxes? Any answers/input will be greatly appreciated.

  6. No, because she is not dependent upon you now. The form is not asking about any future situation.

Makes sense but what if the petitioner IS currently supporting the beneficiary while in another country. I just wish they added the word "currently". Thanks

I,'m sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe Question 8 refers to people you currently support, kids, etc. Remember this form is establishing your financial ability to support the beneficiary. If your paying 25% of your salary to child support, that would effect your ability to support a new person.

Question 11 is where you address support for the beneficiary.

I was thinking about this too, kids but wasn't sure. Thanks

    Any other inputs are welcome

  7. "8. The following persons are dependent upon me for support (Check the box in the appropriate column to indicate whether the person named is wholly or partially dependent upon you for support.)"

Please help. I'm confused on what to put on this question. I see that the VJ sample form on this put "None". But is it not that the beneficiary's name should be put in here? Is this question referring to the beneficiary since they cannot work when they get here until they get the work permit, thus a dependent? Thanks for any input.

  8. No text... No email.... last checked status last night at 10:30pm....no change.... Woke up this morning NOA2!!! Received on May 17!!! Joy! Happiness in the air! Praying for others' approval to come! dancin5hr.gif ( I know the feeling of waiting and being down, in the end joy!)

My congratulations to all that were approved on May 17. (trying to update timeline but it won't work, don't know why)

  9. APPROVED!

Wow, I cannot type because my hands are shaking so badly. Went to bed thinking there were no updates for yesterday, so I didn't even take my cell phone to the bedroom.

Woke up to find text and email, we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)! Arrived at 6:30 this morning on a Saturday????

Shouted in all caps in text chat to my fiance for about 10 minutes while trying to eat cereal that kept falling out the spoon because I was so happy!

I don't think it was my congressman's doing (she only inquired at CSC yesterday) but whatever it was, THANK heavens and now onward and he'll be here in a few months!!!!

Thank you all for your support and good luck to anyone still waiting!!!

    Congratulations!!! dancin5hr.gif

  10. No friend to tell smile.png It is just me and my lonesome. I plan to get back to it this weekend (I wanted to this week, but my real job has kept me completely buried as we had a demo we had to prepare for and my part of the application was the highlight... so I was rushing rushing rushing to make sure it was presentable... luckily it all went well). So tomorrow after work, I will open a bottle of wine and tackle the database configuration issue that had me blocked on my website... once that is done I should be good to go. Pray for me smile.png

I will definitely pray for you! Thank you and keep up the good work! good.gif smile.png

  12. 6 months 6 days here too (CSC) with everyone around me already approved. Crying. Maybe I try congressman next week, since I don't see what else I can do.

Same here. I got so depressed this morning seeing February approvals but mine skipped. No offense but the pain stabs to the heart. I contacted the Ombudsman but I was given the same excuse about the plumbing issue causing the out of order approvals. Makes no sense, that incident happened about two months ago. Contact the Ombudsman too so they would know people see the same problem. I am writing my congressman tonight (no response the first time) If no response again I am going to his office. This makes no sense and it's not rocket science why they are doing this, that is, to improve their statistics once they update the website. So unfair! I feel paranoid as well that I am being punished because I post stuff about USCIS, so they skipped mine. I know they are nosy and might have been reading posts dead.gif

Go one at a time. I would start with your Representative...

I was going to contact my congress critters this month, but I am giving it to the end of this month. But I am with you. Seeing Dec, Jan and Feb folks going before me is starting to aggravate me.

I just want to be with my woman and my boy.... I am tired of this.

Don't delay my friend. Now is the time. Pls tell your friend (you know who) to hurry up with the data and graphs. By the way, is there somebody who would present the data and graphs to the proper office? So things like this will not happen again? Thanks

  13. Guys, I really don't know if I should be panicking or not. I could use some advice or even just kind words. I have really horrible concerns about WHERE my file might be and if it's even being looked at. The horror stories of those July, August and September filers who have just fallen into a black hole, completely skipped over ... I'm truly shaking and heart palpitating because I'm afraid it's happening to me.

The 9 pm CSC update came in and now I'm left with only a tiny handful of untouched cases, all others around me complete. Is this cause for panic and if so, what can I do about it?

I see from Igor's List that they're now working on December and January petitions. Is my file even on a desk anywhere, or is it lost (like has happened to others here at VJ) or what??? sad.pngsad.pngsad.png

Same here! CSC jumps and skips cases. Let's write the Ombudsman. Happy that people gets approved but the pain of waiting sucks and being skipped sucks the more!

  14. CSC is NOT in a slow down. Yes they have slowed from the pace they were on, but if anyone here thought that they would continue ignoring all other types of filers and keep up the pace they were on K-1's you were fooling yourself.

They are still churning out several per day according to Igor's list and seem to be on a more normalized pace again. This is nothing like what happened at the end of 2012 and start of 2013. THAT was a slowdown and of epic proportions.

The past week or so they've been sorting out RFE's, but just yesterday they pumped out 8 NOA2 with only one coming from an RFE (according to Igor's list). From the looks of that list, they are working mostly on November filers now, which means they have almost gotten to the 5 month mark, and seem to be sitting just under 6 months right now.

I have to say, that from what I was seeing when I first applied, that I will be ecstatic if they get me my NOA2 in 6 months.

I admire your optimism. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But the TRUTH is already out there.... thanks to the efforts of a few, many are (/will) reaping the benefits. "The cat is out of the bag, members have the information already. It's too late to put the genie back in the bottle." good.gif idea9dv.gif

  15. You're not alone in this. This thread may explain it, but I don't know how true this is: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428205-i-just-spoke-with-my-congressional-aide/

To quote a portion of it: "Applications are processed out of order because every officer has a stack and will work from oldest to newest in that stack. Additionally some officers work faster then others."

First in-first out, as it seems, is not being followed

  16. I apologize. That was very insensitive of me. I truly hope you all get to join me soon!!

Apology accepted. good.gif Emotions are just high in this process we are going through. Let's keep up the spirit of support for one another. Everyone is on the same boat (or has been on the same boat). We are family! The VJ family heart.gif dancin5hr.gif

  17. Jeez....calm down!! Give it a couple of days. It's been one day of slow after 2 or 3 weeks of crazy turnaround.

I see you are calm coz you already got your NOA2....If you haven't gotten yours yet would you be calm at this time??? It's now over a week since CSC slowed down. girlwerewolf2xn.gif
