  1. Thank you!!! Just message me if you have his number. I heard about Dr. Bernard, but i heard he died or maybe im mistaken...please let me know and I will call my fiance and let him know

It can be done in Haiti. You just need the right doctor. And it'll probably cost less than going to the DR. I grew up in Haiti and I know what I'm talking about. You can message me if you want more information on some great eye surgeons!! Or if you want, look up Dr. Bernard Beauboeuf (the best surgeon in Haiti) and also Theodore Crevecoeur (one of the best eye doctors.) Together, they'll do a VERY good job...Going overseas for surgery is not always the best answer...

Or you can try an expedite. But I'm sure him not having insurance in the US will be more expensive than doing it in Haiti...

  2. I love Haiti and all but I don't believe they are that specialized especially in a situation like this. My mother whose a native of Haiti doesn't believe they are capablr.of doing it as well. If my fiance was to do it in Haiti he would have to pay for bus from Haiti to Dr. Pay to stay at a hotel, to buy something to eat and to pay for the surgery. I'm not a multimillionaire and neither is his father. Thats alot. Most of his family lives here and they don't want him doing it on DR as well because they believe that America is more advance in technology and believe here in the US is the best place for him to have surgery on his eye.

Perhaps this might qualify as an urgent medical situation, and get an expedite? If the only way he can save his eye, is to come to the US, then they might grant it to you. You'd have to get documentation from a doctor about his condition (I assume) as well as why he can't get surgery in Haiti (would he be covered under your health insurance, and can't afford otherwise...for example? There are no trained specialists in Haiti/DR that can perform the surgery?).

Somebody else could probably speak to what USCIS considers an urgent medical necessity, and how to get this.

Thank you and I will definitely do that.

try to ask for service request (expedite) due to medical issue or financial hardship. hopefully they will honor it!!! goodluck

I don't know anything about that. And i've never heard anything about that either.

doctors without borders show up in Haiti on some schedule, you should find the schedule and make the arrangements.

  3. Ever since the Earthquake that hit Haiti 3 years ago, my fiance was trampled on and fell and hit his left eye on a rock. And since then his eye has been irritating him. At the time of the earthquake he was living with his grandmother and she made a special herb medicine to see if the swelling in his eyes would go down, but nothing happened. His eye became worst; and when his dad could (because his dad lives in Guadeloupe),he would send money to my fiance to go see a doctor about his eye and every doctor that he would go to gave him pills to prevent his eye from getting worst, and to stop hurting, but it didnt work. Some doctors told him he needed to wear glasses and gave him eye drops but nothing still worked. Then last year his aunts here in America and his father sent him enough money to go to Dominican Republic and see a doctor there about his eye. When he got there they said that he would need surgery on his left eye and if he didnt have surgery he would eventually go blind. My heart is just broken.... I even call my congressman. And he did what he could today he told me USCIS said I still have to wait another 6months to get approved

  4. I feel the same way and the more I think about him being here the more dreams I have of him being approved. I just want him here already! :( and him you both love one another y'all relationship will stay... we just to be strong and try as hard to be patient. :)

    I understand you completely!

    This is so frustrating...:(

    I have so much fears..

    I can't sleep, I can't work- everything I can think about - is our visa ...

Sometimes I just want to fall asleep and wake up only in 2014, when (I hope so) this process will be over.:(

I don't know what to do- i hope our relationship will stay strong

  5. September!! Grrr I was hoping July..many people that I know who through the process said I should get approved in July

As I see from Igors list, Vermont is working like this: even when they didn't process nearly half of the October petitions by the end of April , they still started working on November petitions in May..

So I think that they will start processing SOME of our March petitions in September... But some of us may be processed only in October-November, as Vermont is Sloooowwwwww:(

My only hope is that there are not so many petitions from December... And Vermont can process them in less than one month...

  6. Lord my heavenly father, we all know you as a powerful and just God whose is capable of doing all things. Well I come before you lord to ask for a great favor. Most of us here have been and still are waiting for our NOA 2 approval. While others are waiting to hear from NVC and are waiting for Visa approvals. I pray that you continue to bless those who received their NOA2 and to continue to help them on their journey until its over. And at this moment i pray that your favor is upon us who is still waiting ...we did our part when we filed for our loved ones and place the rest of this journey in your hands. So I ask that you bless us lord and answer our prayers lord...in you great and mighty name I prayyyyyyyyyyyg....AMEN!!!!! GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS.....I just wanted to show some love with this prayer. :)

  7. thank you hun, and i understand what you mean...i've been trying not to get my hopes to high up so i dont get heartbroken. but i like to be optimistic, and I hope you and love do get married this year as well... best of luck to you hun. :)

I also want to say to the original poster, luvable, that I really do hope the best for you in this process. But I would hate for you to be making plans for your life, getting your hopes up, dreaming about the future, etc, and then being devastated emotionally or financially when it doesn't work the way you planned. It has happened to many of us here on visajourney. Many of us filed in July 2012. When we filed, CSC was approving the petitions at record speeds - 3 or 4 months to receive the NOA2. They were quoting that the average time was 5 months. Many of us waited patiently for 5 or 6 months, thinking that everything was ok, normal, as it should be. Only then did we begin to realize what was happening at CSC. Now we are at 8 or 9 months, wondering if we will be able to get married THIS YEAR.
